The IVE favoritism is annoying they're good but I wouldn't say they're better than Lesserafim, NewJeans & G(IDLE). Their choreo is extremely simple their songs are just catchy but so are "attention'', ''antifragile'' & ''tomboy''. There's literally no reason why they should've won 4 awards specially a Daesang idc about the criteria or whatever. I'm not hating they're great I just think they're overhyped a bit.

IVE is already famous in korea and Love Dive have been on top 10 ever since it got released so it's understandable why they get all the awards also let's just appreciate soyeon winning the best songwriter, actually we all knew she deserves more than that and i hope you do some research first before talking all the shits about the other artists that have won their awards.
About Iu: I agree that she didn't deserve to win because this year she dedicated herself more to other areas than music itself. And I also agree that there is favoritism over her. But I couldn't disagree more about her bringing the same sound every comeback, just compare all her title tracks. Red Shoes, Celebrity, Palette. if you actually look into stats you'd realize the daesangs made sense. IVE's songs charted exceptionally well and BTS' album outsold other groups'. I know fans feel unfair or bored when they see BTS snatch another major award again but like come on lmao, at this point it's simply difficult if not impossible to exceed them in sales or impact. Some Kpop fans truly think Korea starts and ends with their favorite idol groups lol. The most popular genre of music in Korea is ballades and the public is especially receptive to well written lyrics. IU delivers on both fronts. If you don’t even understand Korean it’s hard to fully get what would make some poetry in Korean better than another one. This whole video just sounds like someone who knows nothing about how this award show works or what is popular in Korea at all and is just pissed that the entire nation isn’t on her wavelength. i think some underestimated how popular ive were on melon this year. this is a award show based on the melon music app, and they were always on top. newjeans was also very popular but I guess they had the disadvantage of debuting in august this year, but if i remember correctly ive dominated the girl group game on melon this year. (im not a fan, but i saw some statistics online)

BTS's song was supposed to give a message and show some type of story, like a good song would, and they did. Stayc's award may be due to the fact that they are always overseas and people know them and welcome them. Unlike other groups they don't come from a big company and literally it's amazing many people know them globally well at least at the countries they visited.
Stayc's agency was founded in partnership with CJ and kakao acquired more shares last year.. so they're not from a small company. Cj is literally a giant in k-entertainment industry..

For everyone saying this is a Korean award show and not an international and the awards are based on domestic popularity not global, I would check out the fan cams. On the official broadcast audience response was kind of filtered out but a handful of times the sound of cheering from the audience breaks through on Lesserafim’s performance. I watched audience recordings of each performance and honestly they had the loudest cheering section and was one of the only groups the audience attempted to do a fan chant for. I gotta say- I’ve’s performance was oddly quiet for their supposed popularity level. And to be honest I think the Korean public is harder on them then global audiences. For me the discomfort is from how there’s blatant favoritism on Starship’s part of not just I’ve but specifically some of their members. The neglect of Gael and Liz. Starship also has a very complicated past. But the last girl group to win was Twice…and I don’t think I’ve is at that level honestly. :/ I’m suspicious ngl

For me, IVE deserves this award. Because they are so amazing in their concepts and songs. At their first debut they totally got everyone to notice them even debuting from a midsized company.

Couldn't be more wrong about STAYC. They released run2u, beautiful monster, and poppy this year, and all of them were successful. They've gained a lot more fans globally, especially after attending K-CON. Don't talk bad about them when they've had a great year. Not to mention, girlies are still rookies, so you can't expect them to be as polished and good as other girl groups. They deserve that award. Next. IU won because her releases were successful and were super popular. K-Netizens eat her up because she releases good music. Yeah, she sticks to a certain style of music, but so do LESSERAFIM, IVE, even IDLE. Female Korean solo artists are nonexistent these days. There are plenty, but they never chart because their music is subpar. We should know by now that award shows are not based on quality of music, but how the public receives it. IU won fairly. BTS earned their popularity and are the biggest artists in the world. Any category they're in, they are going to win, and rightfully so. The public eats every song up and they adore BTS. Next!

MMA gives awards based on their own charts aka melon charts. It's like korean billboard. So, they don't care about international success. if they did, JHope would've received many noms. This is why Ive won, because they were very very impressive on those charts and just hit everywhere in korea. They also won the K-billboard awards rather than bp, because they had entered their too. Same for BTS, even though it was an anthology album, it did better than most comebacks (KPOP or POP), both in Korea and worldwide. PS: you saying BP winning best female group would have made sense cause they're popular when you called their album the worst cb, and then saying BTS winning didn't make sense doesn't add up.... at all! Also, ytc is a ballad, it's supposed to be slow and mellow. and BTS doesn't make music for the bop factor or whatever. they make music for the sake of music. This is the reason why many of international people like them, why us non KPOP fans like them because their music is actually good unlike most other kpop groups. Fr i think ive’s awards actually makes sense. Like both comebacks they had were such a bop along with their debut. They were always topping the chart and plus they had a lot of wins this year. As for new jeans, i love their music but i kinda get why they didn’t win. After all the girls literally just debuted, they didnt even had a comeback yet. I think just to get nominations w your debut album is something amazing already!!! I believe the future holds lots great achievements for them

BTS aren't just a k pop group anymore , They are worldwide famous , so they have to make something which is liked by other people too. Not everyone likes crazy visuals , loud sounds and impressive mvs , BTS make music in such a way that it is for everyone which is something that I truly admire , This is the reason why they are the biggest k-pop group.

The lyrics and MV is so special that non fans wouldn't understand. They could have easily made RUN BTS the title track but didn't because they are actual artists who value their art and its meaning. Proof only had three new songs yet outcharted everyone other artist out there. They sold millions and is the best selling album of the year with only 2 versions compared to the 10-20 versions some of these kpop grps release to inflate the numbers.And for YTC it debuted straight at No1 Melon Top 100 the first for any song.I am not going to talk about bb since the awards were based on korean charts. They won fare and square by meeting all the required criterias. You people need to actually stream and vote to win the awards instead of whining. As for IVE winning song of the year was deserving. Them and G idle had equal chances of winning.

bts deserved the award because their comeback was an anthology which was a celebration of their progress in this industry and their friendship with their fandom, the song itself had a very deep meaning as it meant that they are not giving up as a group but diving into their solo projects, armies enjoyed it because it was very meaningful to us and nxde had to be one of the most catchiest songs i've ever heard and the music video and the rap was top-tier and the concept was very unique as it told us the negative consequences an idol has to face when they get popular and fans start sexualizing them.

Excuse me if you don't know how much impact STAYC has globally, but they deserve the award. Its not just how fast and many the fans a kpop group have to be deserving of this award but take consideration the extensive growth and genuine love they receive from international fans. I am not the fan of any of the groups but I do listen to their songs. Idk why everyone is so shocked that IVE won so many awards. Their songs from the debut charted so well and they were such bops. All of them! New jeans and leesarem (not sure if I spelled it right) are amazing groups as well with great songs. However, New Jeans is relatively new, it hasn't been long since they debuted. I am sure they will bag many awards next year if they maintain their music quality. About Leesarem, until not long ago the group was caught up in such a big controversy. Their fandom was also divided at some point and their rising popularity was in a mess at that time. Although everything is getting normal now, it did push them back a little, compared to IVE. About G-idle, the songs were amazing but I am not sure if they were higher in charts compared to IVE's songs. Because it's all these things that matter for such awards? In that area, IVE has shown great success and has released amazing songs every time. Agree or not, I don't think it's surprising that they won. They did deserve it. Now it's up to fans to argue their win by calling manipulation or favouritism. They can do anything as they like. 🤷

ive was surprising for me to be honest, but it makes sense. i believe sometimes we forget all of those streams and while they were in the background for me as a group, they were on my top 20 for most played songs of the year.
BTS winning best male group makes perfect sense considering they’re literally legends and all the forgettable songs that other boy groups have put out this year. I would also like to mention that PROOF wasn’t even an actual comeback, it was a compilation album, and yet they STILL stay winning and nominated for 5 Grammys because they have a loyal fan base and the numbers to back it up. Again for all the children out there, having a loyal fan base and a group being popular doesn’t make the group bad it just makes you sad because bts hasn’t had an actual comeback in years and they keep winning simply because you don’t know how to actually put in the work and vote/stream that or their music is wack. Atleast IVE's music wasn't as repetitive.. lesserafim was AMAZING too. Gidle WAS PERFECT. Tomboy and Nxde was pretty good for me. The lyrics were pretty well written other than lyrics that say cocky things and talking about themselves. StayC wasn't bad either. Their outfits, dance and stage. I THINK PERSONALLY EVERYONE DID WELL. All of the idols are TALENTED its just that their entertainment or company isn't doing them any good. I gotta be honest its the companies and awards shows faults for being very unfair and overall very favoritism. The idols talents arent boring same goes with the music. The music isnt bad. Atleast it wasn't very repetitive and overall everywhere like SOME music. The stage of each and every group weren't bad. Its just that the companies and award shows don't like to show fairness and equality like the government officials.
I may sound like Im defending these groups because Im a fan of them but i gotta be honest, they all did really well. They worked hard for the stage, worked day and night to practice and PROBABLY didn't eat at all somedays. So, saying that they dont deserve the award, saying that their song lyrics were boring and tasteless, or saying that their stage, dancing, vocals, and rappings sucked REALLY hurts to see that some of these fans don't realise what the definition of being a fan is. Your supposed to support your group as much as possible because you love them and willing to give up your time for them to show support and love. You can't just say that their stage suck or their songs suck because its the companies that your supposed to be complaining about. Its not the group music, dance or vocals. The award shows are the ones responsible for who is the winners not the artists.
So complain about your unsatisfactory to the companies and awards shows. Don't hate on your groups music or other groups music just cause the artists who had the best songs or stage didn't get the award. Tell the companies or awards shows, like.. your not supposed to hate on the artists hard work.
