Mmusi Maimane has resigned as the leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA). Maimane’s resignation comes two days after Herman Mashaba announced his resignation from the party and subsequently as Johannesburg mayor.
As a white South African, I am deeply disappointed in the DA. I love Musi - he is a sincere and moral man. I hope he, Herman Mashaba and Trollip form a new party. They will definitely have my vote. Musi Maimane for president!
Maybe they are right to resign but forming a party with a vision of ruling SA will be their mere waste of funds. It takes a lifetime to win people's faith
This is a roundabout way of saying the DA won't change so they kicked me out. I genuinely feel bad for him. I think at his core, he believed in the change he wanted to see, but the party isn't here for that.
If he wanted the DA to adopt the exact same policies as the ANC, I'm not surprised they "wouldn't change", there's already a party with those positions and they haven't worked.
@@khumomatlakane2009 So do the DA.. that's part of the official goals. To be honest it seems like he just wanted to try and make an equal South Africa using the same policies as the ANC.
I am not a South African but i have been following his political journey and he deserves better for all he has done and i hope he forms a New Party to continue his Journey
President Zuma had warned you but you choose not to listen you got chewed like a gum and spitted out. in fact you got fired forget about this story of yours resiging how long where you a leader and how long was Helen.
how does the DA not actually consider the majority electorate in the things it does? It could never be a ruling party without starting to understand the general electorate.
You like him because he kisses your pampered a$$. And causes those who hate themselves to wear wigs and bleach their skin works for the white man ! Run away
Nooh, Black and White is not an old thing. Still happening. DA will never be a party of blacks. Maimane he was gonna step down by force if the DA has won the government. He was just a face to attract blacks to vote for DA. But we blacks we knew this. DA does not love blacks.
@@sburger1146 we need polititian who truly want to be called Heros in our country. not this people who just care for their pocket. they only in politic as a career, not caring for their beloved SA. I truly respect Maimane... if there is nothing behind all his resignation, but caring for South African.
Wish u all the best MR .....EFF is waiting for you are warmly appreciated in the EFF ....looking forward to fight the struggle together as Black people
it is not his decision to step down from his position, he was forced to do so. we were once oppressed by those people Mmusi is leading, i can't be led by someone that i do not recognise... u were just being used broh just leave the party and join other parties.
I am not a South African but l truly admired his leadership style. This is painful.he is just a humble, moral person.l am deeply disappointed in DA and they have just shot themselves into the foot ( political suicide) Do they ever think about the electorate who voted for them when making such decisions.
Maimane had a wrong ideology when he went into leadership. He’s decision to join politics seems to have been based on emotional feelings without concrete plan of action and knowledge. Hence he failed. This should be a lesson to all that are willing to rule our country in future.
mmsi must get a hot hot hot klap op die kop! for misleading millions on black nation. back of his head he knew this wasnt gona last. white poeple are NOT for black emancipation. wa phapha. now he's speaking very soft all of a sudden. nonke maimane mann!.
What a shame that the DA could not adopt his visions and views but hey, his resignation along with Mashaba has definitely impacted on the party's image and integrity. I commend them for trying to change the party's ideology. This is indeed an eye opener to all of us and serious blow to the party 's ability to compete for future electoral campaigns. I can say without a doubt that DA is no longer a strong opposing party.
So South Africans prefer Cyril over this Guy, what a dumb country . The DA shouldn't have let go of this Guy and secondly if they really needed to do so , they should have offered him a better position within the party. You don't throw away such kind of people.
So sad but wishing u all de best brother 💔💔I never liked this party reason being de whites dat r de n I pray to GOD dat dey never lead SA cos dats were will b welcoming apartheid
So when the going gets tough he decides to run. i love him and his views but looks like he aint leader material because a captain must never abandon the ship
@@cornelonte8314 Musi was never a DA leader he was there to be the face and recruit black nation should he have won elections same thing would have happened look at the lady who was sent Overseas to study and never came back if you listen at reasons why Mashaba resigned you'll understand better.
Lets hope he ll stop being a politician it is nt a good job it can change ppl to evil. .nd we dont need another party.ballot paper is too long .i dd nt vote DA but well done bro .
No. The people of South Africa refuse to vote for the DA because of precisely what is happening now. There is nothing Maimane could have done to convince SA that voting for a party that doesn't care for black is going to be to their benefit. Yes, the ANC doesn't care but the DA cares far less for black people. That's the sad reality of this country. We are screwed in all directions.
@@KiloPage777 Oh, so for you the contest is for who doesnt care the most? Leaving aside your racism, why not vote for a party that can get things done irrespective. At least things will get done! I am guessing you dont live in Cape Town? You would see how things are supposed to be done.
Very clever move DA...I'm On to you ;) I Wouldn't be surprised if they make a second party as a proxy.Gain more votes to take the ANC down once and for all !
How would splitting their votes help? This gives the ANC a higher chance at 66% majority and also for the EFF to gain votes. If this is their plan is a wildly risky one
@@frozeneternity93 the ANC did that by forming ATM and Good so they can form a coalition in case the DA gains more votes. Why do you think Aunty Pat is in parliament?
"There's the Door" I said he'd be the first to use it and it happened. This Gauteng boy never knew the DA. I knew he was done when he attempted to run for the Premier of the Western Cape. The DA did not remove the ANC in anything because they did not win in those cities and they were the worst coalition partners. The coalition removed the ANC which in PE would form a coalition with DA's partners to remove the DA. The city you grew up in is a typical African city with burning buildings, filthy, crime ridden, drug infested, electricity outages (not Eskom related) and no water. Go back to Gauteng power hungry empty headed Gautenger. You talk too much, that has always been a problem. Tried and failed to remove Zuma, wasted time, wasted money, wasted effort. I said if you didn't know that you had no chance in hell of ever removing Zuma then you shouldn't be the leader of any party. Bringing to SA American concepts of impeachment which have no provision in the South African constitution. When you said you were going to dissolve parliament I said this boy is out of his mind. When you called yourself mini Mandela many DA whites strongly believed you were losing your mind. You tried to steal Mandela's legacy for the DA like Zille tried and failed to steal Biko's. In the end the ANC removed Zuma. There is no racism or right wing take over the truth is that Maimane should never have been the leader of the DA or any party, he was and still is politically immature. He didn't know what to do to grow the party, Maimane didn't grow the DA, Zille did. EFF, Mashaba and Msimanga helped him in those cities only because the timing was right to grow the DA at local level, and only because the ANC messed up in Pretoria when they tried to impose Thoko Didiza as mayor. EFF helped reduce the ANC votes in PE. Reducing the ANC support to below 50% was something no party could achieve before the birth of the EFF which has been exposed as a fraud and a corrupt one at that. I think mini Mandela will form a political party and rope in Mashaba who has declared that this is the end of his political career. I said it back in 2016 that the Mashaba and Msimanga can caus major damage to the DA in Gauteng if they were to start a political party And I've said it many times that South Africa needs regional political parties, parties whose mission would be to remove the ANC at local and provincial level. DA has the Western Cape, COPE had the Northern Cape but they messed up, Inkatha had KZN but messed up, EFF doesn't know what it is doing, if they knew they would be running and messing up a municipality, if Maimane, Mashaba and Msimang start a party they will reduce the ANC support to below 50% at provincial level. If provinces are gone and the ANC is left at national level, constitutionally they cannot refuse to support those provinces.
