Considering the fact that Gate revived all the bosses in this game, it would've been cool to see the X-Hunters back... ...the game's horribly balanced already so might as well

Mavericks: X-Hunters (Violen, Serges, and Agile) Weapons: Spikeball attack (Violen); cloak, sword attack techniques (Agile; various weaponry (Serges) Stage: Gate's Laboratory (Secret Lab Area) Description: Once destroyed by X after the events of MMX2, they were rebuilt by Gate and joined the Nightmare Investigators to search for the Zero Nightmare. This time, they were given new bodies. Violen appears to be spikey than his previous incarnation and can transform into a spike ball. Agile was given the ability to cloak and armed with a new sword. Serges' new body was more militaristic; being equipped with a wide variety of weapons such as proximity mines and retractable arm cannons. Although they have joined the investigation, the X-Hunters are seen guarding the secret lab area in Gate's Laboratory where they collaborate with Gate's project in analyzing Zero's remains. *as X* (Entering secret lab area) X: This must be where Gate conducts his secret projects with Zero's DNA. Either way, this project must be stopped once and for all. (Boss encounter: Violen) X: What the…?! Violen…of the X-Hunters?! Violen: Hehehe! X! What a surprise! X: It can't be! Didn't I destroy you long ago?! Violen: Yeah! But now, we have returned. Stronger than ever! All thanks to the doc! X: Gate must have resurrected them to be part of the Nightmare Investigators. Violen: Take a good look, X. See how powerful I am? Now I can crush you like tin cans…like this! (Violen defeated) Violen: G-Gee! Like…that wasn't advanced enough for me to face you. X: You're all spikes and all, but not sharp enough using your head. Violen: You'd think I am stupid?! Why I oughtta-! Gnnnrgh! N-No way! I can't…be scrap now! I…am…strong! (Violen dies) (Boss encounter: Agile) Agile: X! Welcome…to your doom! X: Agile… Agile: Gate has repurposed us for the moment we are prepared for: the recreation of the maverick Zero that Sigma envisioned. X: Zero will never go maverick at will! Agile: Really? It looks like you're too late to save him. Besides, your end is at hand. (Agile defeated) Agile: But…how?! Beaten again regardless how advanced the great doctor Gate has rebuilt me? I-Impossible! (Agile dies) (Boss encounter: Serges) X: Serges! Serges: Long time no see, X! Glad that you could make it in time…to witness the resurrection of Zero as the ultimate maverick. Just as Sigma sees it. X: Is that why Gate rebuilt you and the others, to find his remains so you can rebuild him just like years ago? Serges: Yes! Not only that, but we have Zero's DNA to put the finishing touches to the project. Now at long last, his resurrection is coming to fruition. Zero will return as a maverick. X: Not on my watch! Serges: We shall see, X. I have new powers that Gate has given me. It is time to test my strength! (Serges defeated) Serges: Fufufufu! You may have defeated us, but Gate's plans to resurrect Zero are nearing completion. You have failed, X. X: Sorry to break it to you and your fellow X-Hunters, but I have already stopped your resurrection project. Serges: Perhaps. But Gate has other plans. Something that you will not comprehend. X: The Nightmare Project? Serges: Yes. We have no use for him, now that he has Zero's DNA. But that will be even greater to his plans. You'd better see it for yourself. Fufufufufu! (Serges dies) *as Zero* (Entering secret lab area) Zero: So this is where they're studying my DNA for Gate's project? Somebody's gonna pay for this. (Boss encounter: Violen) Violen: Z-Zero?! Here? Zero: Whatever project you or Gate are working on, it must be stopped right now! Serges: Now? The project is near completion. With your DNA sample, my greatest creation will become a reality. Zero: Not on my watch! Serges: Fufufufu! So be it! The maverick Zero…MY Zero, will be the most unstoppable force to be reckoned with. Not matched to you! (Serges defeated) Serges: Fufufufu!
