Another project that makes an "OK" 1/12 toy into a good #RC #crawler! Had alot of fun modifying this MN99/MN90 into a crawler. Below is a list of the items I bought from both Amazon and
Banggood. The #WPL #MN99 and #MN90 are worth modifying!

Nice job! One of the things I appreciate about these inexpensive "toy" RC's is that they, in effect, force a person to THINK about the individual processes that MAKE a crawler. It's easy to see that you put a lot of thought into your projects. Great vid. The truck, the scenery, the music. It's all there! Nice!

Thanks! I do love making changes on the inexpensive ones.. it keeps me thinking and fabricating. And yes I have been slowly perfecting my camera work and editing.

I love that steering mod Brian,I went with a 270 geared motor into a transfer box,single speed,high torque set up. I changed the wheels over to a set of the C44KM wheels and tyres which look and perform much more scale,(You do need to add foams to the tyres though,as they're a very soft conpound.)

Just put a 270 motor in a Q60 6x6 (see weatherized vid) and yes it it a great motor! Thanks for the idea!

By adding the new motor and gearbox you have lost the lightkit right? Because esc and light Signal distributer is all hard wired on that circuit board 😒

Yes.. the signals etc. got obnoxious anyway. Do still have the headlights! I wanted it to be more of a crawler than the toy it really was designed to be.

i have the mn99 and am looking to upgrade the weight for lower center of gravity. what can you recommend. how did you fabricate that brass piece?

Thanks for the inquiry! The first thing I did was to take a brass tube cut to the same length as the original arm, flatten each end, drilled holes to center and filed smooth. Then comes the tricky parts... I cut a piece of thick paper as a template. Once I get the angles and slide bar right I use the template to cut out from a piece of brass sheet. Then position it on the brass steering bar and solder it in place. Hope that helps!

Looks like the servo I used is hard to get now! This one might be a good alternative: "WPL Rc Car Truck Servo 17g 3.5kg For B1 B16 B24 C24 1/16 RC Car Stainless Steel Gear"

Personally I would get the MN99. It is a better quality ie. (more expensive) option. The turn signals and lights are cool on the MN99, but it is possible that more mods can be done on the C24. I will have to get one to see! LOL

I have a MN99 and a C24-1 and love them both equally, although i was more impressed with the C24-1 for looks.

Thanks! I got mine from the WPL C44KM kit. So you can get it from WPL or even Amazon or Bangood. Amazon will get it to you in a week! you will of course need a 3+ channel transmitter, reciever and esc. It is a great addition! I just got a B36 Ural and ordered another 2 speed transmission. I love the option to shift!
