Mo’Nique finally confronts Oprah Winfrey about the backstabbing, blacklisting, and betrayal. Like many, Mo’Nique grew up idolizing Oprah Winfrey. She was successful, generous, and extremely powerful. When Mo’Nique’s career took off and she got the chance to work closely with Oprah, they became good friends. It was a dream come true! But that dream didn’t last long. Mo’Nique was blacklisted from Hollywood after saying ‘no’ to some powerful Hollywood producers like Lee Daniels. Why didn't Oprah defend her?
We discovered that Oprah and Monique’s feud wasn’t just professional, but deeply personal. Mo’Nique had confided in Oprah about her abusive childhood, thinking she could trust her. But a couple months later Oprah had Mo’Nique’s abusive family on her talk show without Mo’Niques permission.
Fed up of people in positions of power taking advantage of her Mo’Nique decided to fight back and speak out no matter what.

All my possible employers when they tell me they want a TB test, blood sample, piss in a cup, (mug) face photo shot, fingerprints,.... all for a job that pays a little over minimum wage, and they'll only give you 20 hrs a week, and send you out to clients 25 minutes away from your home, when they know your driving a 24 year old car!!! I guess it's more comfortable to believe that your daughter is a liar than the males in your family are sick. Sadly, this has very powerful effects on girls' lives. I was displaying so many signs that there really isn't an excuse for not knowing. God bless you. I let it affect me far too much of my life. The stigma that is held against victims of sexual abuse is real, and almost as traumatising as the abuse itself.

Once when I was very young I saw an episode where Oprah blamed a mother for her sons suicide. The mother who was kind of surprised and hijacked tried really hard to defend herself and Oprah tried really hard to paint her as abusive because the son had weapons but the mom was trying gently to say she only knew this after her son was gone. I don't remember much else but I remember even at that age thinking there was something sinister in the way Oprah was doing things. And it never went away.

Same here! I was a new mom when Oprah first hit the TV screen. I read about her and I couldn’t wait for her show to start. But after watching her first few episodes I felt in my heart that she was fake. I quit watching. But I gave it another try a few years later…same thing…just so fake. When I get a feeling in my heart like that, it is never wrong. Same with Ellen, I could feel in my heart that Ellen was evil and toxic. I remember watching her talk show; she’d ask a serious question of a guest, then, while the guest was responding, the tv viewing audience would see Oprah trying to get the best shot of her own face looking into the camera and smiling, usually while her guest was talking about something deeply personal and/or hurtful. At the time, I remembered thinking, “Why is Oprah doing that? How distracting and disrespectful to her guest.” Imagine what I thought when I began seeing her do the same thing on almost every show. Oprah is good friends with harvey Weinstein. While Harvey's trial was ongoing, you know what she did? Suddenly, she got all of MJs "victims" to make a documentary with her during that time to distract the public from Weinstens trial. And it worked. No one gave fig he received a slap on the wrist for what he did to all those women because they were too focused on the allegations towards MJ. Those same "victims" have repeatedly retracted, changed and switched their stories for many decades now. They can't be trusted. Reminds me of my Mother. As a 13 year old I tried to tell her that the 15yr old boy she had babysit me at the age of 4, had sexually abused me. She didn't want to hear a word of it. Shut the conversation down and to this day has never let me share my experience in order to move on from it. 17 years later my mum begs me to come to Christmas lunch.
