Endo isn’t even a backup when one of the starters isn’t playing…Jones played instead of him. Endo is better than Gravenberch or anyone else when it comes to the DM position. When he played it allowed Mac Allister and company to go forward more not to mention he gave more defensive stability. Slot is just loving that boring slow possessive play of his and for what purpose to have under two goals a game and for Salah and company to be doing nothing😒.
I always find it sad how many people badmouth Jones. He is a Scouser and I am glad that we rely on our youth because they are full of heart and passion in representing us. He has potential, but sometimes he lacks the necessary match practice or experience, but it is better to have a youth player than a 50 million flop because our club values our players ❤️

I am Japanese so this might be biased, but I think a rotation of jones, gravenberch, Mac, and Endo will be more stable in both defense and offense. The way Szobo has been playing is not acceptable. I know Endo is not a fast playmaker and technical like szobo, but Endo’s defensive contribution is far greater than Szobo’s “current” offensive contribution. I really wish Arne can give Endo more chance. Against Chelsea was a perfect chance. Szobo’s misplays trying to do some fancy passes were not what we needed. We needed strong defense in the second half, especially after 75 minutes.
Bang on analysis....we were lucky that Chelsea did not score....we may not be so lucky against Arsenal or City....last season, Endo was monumental against City.... I was expecting him to come on yesterday in place of Szobo to shore up the defence....don't know why Slot can't see that Szobo is not making any positive contribution...neither offensively or defensively....
