I did this circuit by bike in november 2019... what a fantastic trip!! In your video I noticed that past Manang now they brought electricity!! When I was there the lodges run with solar power only
Having trekked the whole circuit , plus up into the sanctuary and Annapurna base camp when it was mostly all trail before being blasted out in parts to give the area more accessibility . one wonders how one gets around the crazy new 2023 Nepalese rules re: everyone now must have a hired guide , will they have guides for adventure bikers also ?
Thank you for visiting and promoting Nepal tourism🇳🇵♥️.I have been to manang for trekking to tilicho lake.Must beautiful place and must visit destination if you are nature lover and adventure seeker. Keep inspiring.Keep making videos.❤ Love from Nepal🇳🇵♥️
Goodness. I did this trek back in 1996 and got completely SHOCKED (In a good way) that most of it now is bikeable. As I switch from backpack in the old days to bicycle nowadays, this sure will get on my bucket list again. Safe travels!
I did the trek in '96 as well-left my bike with a nice kid in Pokhara for a few weeks. Absolutely unbelievable that it's possible to ride the route now. Did you see the TOILET at 10:30? Unreal!
I did the Annapurna Base Camp trek in 1997. And this vid also now have me thinking of going back for the circuit on a bike! Amazing views and challenge.
Thank you for this amazing video.. I can clearly see your hard work for this video. Really appreciate your hard work. And may be this is late but welcome to nepal.. I hope you enjoy your every movement in nepal.. 😊😊
Besides stunning scenery, great camera work, nice sense of humor, I also like the music, and the photography at the end. Very relaxing to watch (and listen).
Awesome video man! Just be careful with taking one hand off the handles for so long to record in such a technical terrain. It is very easy to lose controle suddenly and end up having a broken collarbone as it happened to me!
Great video. I did this bike packing trip 5 years ago but took a different route. I went over the Tillicho Lake pass down to Johmson then back over throng La. Throng La is was better west to east, the descent down into Manang was superb.
Ohhh you must have seen a different guy :D I haven't been in Kathmandu when I was in Nepal in '22. Maybe it was Alvaro but I'm not sure if he was in Kathmandu either :)
Loved going through the film. Being a bikepacker n filmmaker myself I know how difficult it is to film as u bike, specially somewhere like the ACT! Hats off! I was supposed to do this circuit this April but the new no guide no trek policy messed my plans. But they have not implemented the law and hopefully won’t for at least a few more months or years. You don’t need the TIMS I guess. Just the conservation fees. Hence i plan to do this in October. Anti clockwise. Sorry about your broken mic. I can feel you when an important part of your gear stops working while on an important shoot and no ways to replace. But then the audio came out good, really good except at the Thorong La with the extreme wind. Your Osmo did better than my Gopro 8? I’ll take my hard tail MTB, I wonder why people take gravel with stiff fork? You don’t think it’d would have been easier on those mountain roads? Or may be you were already touring on this bike and that’s what u had I guess? 34+ years old bike, wow man! Awesome! And why did you put load only one side, wasn’t it uncomfortably to balance on those roads; or don’t you think it’d have been more comfortable with two panniers with the load being shared and balanced? How freezing cold was it to ride, specially in the morning and at the pass? I think I’m too excited watching your film, putting so many questions lol. Lovely presentation and yes, awesome music. I am still looking for a way to use my insta360 one R like you did on the handlebar initially. Which mount are you using? My mount makes the cam swing so much when extended and on bumpy roads! Mind sharing a video on your filming setup? I have a Sony A7C and a 28-75 2.8 as my main cam. A new subscriber here, will find and follow you in Instagram too! :) Wishing you more and more tail winds, man! Keep pedaling. Let me know if you plan to be in Northeast of India, I’m from Guwahati, Assam. Regards, @TravelAndFilming. ❤
Thanks man :) not sure how and when exactly the new law will be placed but I hope there is an exception for cycling. Anyways yeah I think Osmo is more reliable than the Gopro 8 and soundwise I believe too. The Insta 360 I just hold in my hand while riding by this you can balance out the swing quite well. Good luck mate :)
Ah an yes I was already touring with this bike before. with suspension it would be more comfy for sure :D the unbalanced load is not really noticeable because its not really heavily packed.
I heard the Nepal Govt is cracking down on solo trekking. I guess bicycling doesn't count for that. Hope it stays that way. I'd like to unicycle this circuit. I know that sounds nuts but it's possible. Staying in tea houses would make it even more possible
You’re an inspiration for me, what a beautiful ride! Hope we can cross paths one day! Thank you for the video and good luck with the busking and the festivals this summer 😎
Great camera work especially on that bridge. Those samosas are a new staple in Canada thanks to Indian immigrants. We're lucky to have them, I can only eat so much pizza and hamburgers before I want to try something else!
I can honestly say thanks for bringing us into your world. The only bicycle adventrue I did was a solo ride across Canada. Nothing compares to what you just displayed and yet I did struggle in my own ways going across Canada. The amount of oxygen deprivation must have been overwhelming on that last summit. Stay safe and may the winds be mostly at your back.
I'm riding Schwalbe Marathon MTB tires. Most of my punctures are cause by men made stuff on the road (nails, metal wires ect) so I didn't had any issues there but I also carry something to patch in case it happens.
What a beautiful video, in such challenging terrain and altitude! I know how hard that is, really well done. Watched the entire thing with appetite to ride the circuit some day.
terrific! A very inspiring film! I did a section of this years ago on bike (and plane and foot!) Fly Pokhara t Jomson, then cycle to Jhakot, then walk to TL..... the mega descent to Beni!
Hi, thanks for your Video exact at the right time for me planning to do this trip. I think about travelling along the mahendra highway eaast to west with annapurna circuit a highlight. Can you pleas answer me: When, which month, did you travel there? How many days did you spent at the ac? How many km/day average? Thanks and have a lot of fun!
I was there in early December and spend 11 days to complete the loop from Pokhara - APC - Pokhara. I think on the way up I did like 20-25km per day and on the way down it was much more :) unfortunately it seems like you'd need to have a guide from now on to do the trek, which makes things more complicated. But I hope you'll find a solution :)
I has the absolute pleasure of going this journey in 2011 on an old hardtail MTB. No so much track, a lot more hikimg with your bike on your back and no tarmac. It will forever be the best adventure I have ever achieved.
This is one of the best videos I ve seen about the journey through the Annapurna Circuit. I ve completed the trekking 6 months ago on foot and your video brought back those fond memories of my journey. Great job man 👏
Awesome adventure. I am a motorcyclist but would love to start doing trips like this around the world on a bicycle. Do you usually rent the bicycle at destination and bring your own accessories/bags/gear?
If you want to enjoy mountains with better roads and hotel facilities then you should travel to Leh Ladakh and uttrakhand which is in India . Leh Ladakh trip is every bikers dream , it takes 15 days to travel and views is simply majestic . Uttrakhand is equally very beautiful and more greener than Leh Ladakh .
Thanks for the advice :) but I‘m not looking for better hotel facilities :D but I‘ll keep that in mind for another time in life ✌️ the landscape there is probably incredible
Wonderful video, my friend! Do you know if this is still possible with the Nepalese government's new ban on solo trekking? I would love to ride it myself in a couple of years, but I'm worried that I won't be allowed!
@@herenowlife - Too many people getting themselves into trouble out there, so now Nepal will only allow people to go trekking with an approved guide. It's been all over the media lately.
@@herenowlife - Yeah, same old same old. Not sure if it affects the Annapurna Circuit though as it's a fairly well trafficked route. I think generally it's for more extreme stuff. Can't say for sure though.
Yeah I've heard about it an as much as I know it includes the Annapurna Circuit...not sure how it exactly works tho. But yeah its quite sad you can't go independently anymore. Hopefully they will undo their decision some day in the future
Really enjoyed watching this. Brought back memories of trekking to Everest Base Camp (north side) in 2000 ... and bumping into the odd crazy cyclist along the way! :) Congrats on an epic ride!
Just watched OMG I’m so jealous that was fucking awesome dude I still don’t want to cycle it tho as when I’m up there I’m so happy I just don’t want it to end.
Thank you for taking the time to share your adventure with us. Wow - what a ride! I guess a lot of folk would suffer from altitude sickness at that height. Look forward to more adventures from India. Go safely.
Gänsehaut beim zugucken. Du bist so krass.
Knoblauch soll wohl ganz gut gegen höhenkrankheit helfen. Wurde mir von vielen empfohlen ;)
Fantastic achievement. Breathtaking indeed. Beautiful filming and pictures. I shall never see this for myself as the highest I have been is 4100m up Kota Kinabalu on Sabah and my head and lungs were about to explode. Only just made it to the summit with purely by chance the help of a German mountain guide who saw I was in trouble. I could never reach 5,500m without oxygen. You were very brave to attempt this alone, some might say mad. You said 34 years old bicycle? What happened to your custom made bicycle?
Its back home because I was staying in Tbilisi for a while and thought it would be better to have an old bike (less likely to get stolen) and also I just love the old Kuwaharas :)
