Man y'all don't listen lol. John literally just said it in the interview Pac said " Yo Mo Bee mane drop that shit" The producer was named Easy Mo Bee Never once did Pac say M.O.B before Death Row. "Stick a needle in my eye if I don't live or die for M.O.B" "We CLAIM MOB, M.O.B if u be specific" "Who's that nigga in a G Ride, screaming out M.O.B nigga we ride" --- now who the duck would scream out M.O.B a known Gang in Compton/LA County,,, then try and say "oh I'm screaming it for Money Over Bitches" Pac was a grown man. He was repping MOB PIRU. It isn't rocket science
He didn’t mention James because he didn’t know him that well. James said they only met a few times.. He knew and was cool with his brother Buntry and them.. James said himself he was gone and stopped working for Suge by the time Pac really came around Deathrow….
Yeah mob James is right when he said he was never listening to Tupac because Tupac definitely said a MOB and that's was way before he got locked up death row wasn't even a thought in 2pacs head
I don't find much wrong with what James has said on 2pac. He was Suge's money and there was enough street guys at the MGM to deal with a street situation. Pac took off and brought the whole house down. Fair comment.
Not to mention every other song he spoke of his death, yet these artists that have came later still underestimate the power of speaking events into existence
A few points to clarify, this particular song was supposed to be on All Eyez On Me but wasn't submitted in time. AEOM was recorded within his first couple of weeks on DR (so, highly unlikely to have anything to do with 2Pac being down with the Pirus as its too short a time to earn their respect & love), it also had Big Syke on the track.
To be fair this is the first time Mobb James has clarified the 2Pac situation properly. It did feel like he was always hating on Pac , in previous interviews Pac shouting out MOBB was only him Reciprocating the love he was shown.
U can't be screaming nothing if you ain't from that set or put in work for that set that's the problem with all these characters today everybody wants to be something they not and when somebody shut that b.s down then everyone wanna scream they hating but the only hate it truly is is people hate to deal with reality of who they really is
@@theetruth8626 yeah I get it He’s one of them old school gangsters with principles. I’m just saying it always felt like there was a bit of animosity directed at Pac instead of the homies. He clarified that in this interview and I respect and get where he is coming from
Reggie and James are both interesting guys and have a lot of cool stuff to share. They also seem like down to earth people and would be fun to just chill and hang out with. Always enjoy these
You all need to understand something - back in the day gang-bangers did not hold rappers as their equal. Bangers considered rappers BELOW them. That's why it was such a big deal to Orlando Anderson to be attacked by Pac. He was deeply embarrassed. And THAT'S why Tupac died.
Plus, Puffy had already put a price on Pacs head, Keffe D admitted it in the interview with the feds. So Pac stomping him gave the Southside the perfect opportunity
He did say MOB on records before DeathRow Reggie you was Right mr Wright lol and I don’t even have to research it I remember R U Still down album Me against the world album
Never said M.O.B He said " Yo Mo Bee mane Drop that shiiiiit" He has used thee term "Mobbing like a MF" But Snoop said that as well, Mobbing as in Rollin/moving/ he never said M.O.B before Death Row
Y’all wrong asf!!!! Pac did a freestyle while he was locked up ! The song with face & master p. “ Niggas don't wanna see me worldwide, mob figure M.O.B., Hennessy keep me g'd and ki'd Niggas, don’t wanna see me, when I got weed in my system”
It's amazing to see 2 behind the scenes legends of Deathrow chillin together after those many years and giving us this interview. It's really enjoyable. And props to Bomb1st for always having the questions to keep this going and it'd always be an amazing and insightful topic!
Y'all should have those type of exchanges more. It's better than Gangster Chronicles because it's very casual, laid back and not focused on just Gangs. No one is trying to be too correct or too true to the Gangsterism thing.
@@darnellmayfield6542 That is not the debate here. They have stories to tell and different perspectives that can make up for a more dynamic conversation. I don't care about one being a rat or a gangsta because I don't commit crime. It does not bother me as a law abiding civilian so if it bothers you, it's because you're probably doing something wrong. Show me someone who ever won a trophee for being gangsta or whose family is living well in peace and without fear when their loved one ends up getting killed or rotting in prison. The only thing gangstas get is casual acknowledgement by some bum whose opinion means nothing : "Yea he was a real one. He was a gangsta" . That's all. Now was it worth it? Unfortunately, black America is infatuated with the nonsense instead of focusing on judicial autonomy and economic development.
@@lioicxc6827 so you like hearing fake shit I see. I don’t care for the gang life but I did live a street life I know what’s real and what’s fake. And I know they always shit on the people that made a way for them to have a platform
I understand where James is coming from being a old gang member but I think pac was showing his loyalty by getting tattoos and riding on baby lane. Pac was that kind of guy
I understand JAMES perspective ppl gotta understand in the 90’s & early 00’s the streets was different…You just couldn’t come in somebody hood or gang & claim it especially if you didn’t put in work for that particular hood or gang..JAMES is older than PAC & dude’s of his generation wasn’t star struck by rappers …In the 90’s & early 00’s niggas ain’t give a fuck about no rappers or celebrity..
Salute to the Bomb1st fam, Reggie, John, and James. I don't see James as a hater. I understood what his issue was and why he took the stance that he took. It was some real shit, in my opinion. I go back and forth with this. I think 2Pac was pushing the line in part but, was also pushing his own line as far as MOB & what that represented. I think 2Pac saw what Death Row was doing in the streets more so on the positive side as the modern day black panthers like movement and he was for that. Even from a far, I see that he liked that Suge/Death Row incorporated gang elements as well as some of the elements and teachings of the panthers. I think in part 2Pac had come full circle during that time.
I’m glad Reg spoke up on that Money Over Bitches.. All cats say Mob’n .. Doesn’t mean they’re repping some blood gang. A lot of folks say what up cuz… Doesn’t mean they’re repping Crips..
I agree. 2pac was only out, what? Eight months! Lets say it took 2 months for niggas to start fooling with you like that. Pac in all likelihood was in their hood 6 months. And not everyday either, with his travel schedule, performances, and studio time.
James, it ain’t about being a groupie, it’s about respect for the dead, especially a young black icon who clearly was going through PTSD. The fact that you became famous dissing Pac is a no go for the real ones
@@melvinhhcp3615 They went to Vegas to take another DR chain. Even of pac didn't do anything Orlando and them still would've tried something that night or days later. Eventually it would've came down to gun fire. Because we all know pac wasn't gonna give up shit. You and mob James is wrong imo. You don't wait for the wild dog to attack, You bomb 1st no pun intended.
@@RaeJones. Yep he was definitely saying "Yo Mo Bee mayne drop that ish." A simple look at the lyrics would tell anyone that, on top of Easy mo Bee being the one that produced the song Temptations. He used to saying mobbin, but once he joined Deathrow he started saying the acronym which is something different. The acronym being used was directly tied to Deathrow. Idk why people see it difficult to understand lol. Even in To Live and Die in L.A once he says m.o.b he immediately names Suge and the dudes at deathrow from the mob.
I understand big James point on this. On the strength that pac was not on tha block like that everyday truthfully he can't say mob to that extent. But the homies had luv and I believe that's how people get it misunderstood. You really got to know the set and the wars going on and be puttin some work down before you can truly claim it doe. Pac wasn't making those kinda of moves to say he was in the mix to that extent. So big James right tho, if u look at it the real way.
James might not have ill feelings towards Pac but it always saying Pac wasnt this or Pac wasnt that. and the other thing he does in every interview is blame Suge for what happened to his brother and others and always mentioning they didnt get paid enough and nobody got rich. They were all grown men who chose that life
@@mrchoo4 he said he was M.O.B., he said he was from the Mob, he got matching tattoos with them & wore the same pinky ring all of the members wore. Stop being in denial.
So if he died representing the hood and died gang banging. Is that not an initiation? What if he had survived? Did he not put in work for the hood. I'm just asking...
I'll never understand how people can have hatred towards someone who literally gave them a spotlight, people who still make money off of a man who's been dead for almost 27 years now. Regardless of what you're feeling, you can't deny that Pac put the MOB on the map and gave them worldwide respect. Nobody would know who James is if it wasn't for 2Pac this channel literally wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Pac. Yet he still has no problem doing interviews and speaking about Pac. Dude is literally the biggest Groupie out there, cause if it wasn't for 2Pac nobody would interview this Clown.
How is it hating? I truly do not understand your point. MOB Piru grew up together, did things together for years. Pac came on the scene. It's not hatred to say he is not the same as the guys who went thru all those years and experiences together. He really didn't understand why he should not have been the one to go off on Orlando. It cost him his life, because he wasn't from there and had no idea Orlando was a hitter. That is NOT a knock against Pac. It is NOT saying he wasn't a major influence, he wasn't a great rapper, he wasn't on his way to awesome things. It is simply stating he was NOT Mob, and there's nothing wrong with that. It is NOT a put down in any way.
@@bbrules8174 It's hatred because James is the only one who clearly has an issue with Pac saying MOB. He's upset that Pac was able to come in so quickly and gain respect within the MOB. He said himself in this interview that people from crip neighborhoods become bloods and vice versa. So if it's not about where you're from why is it a problem that Pac is representing? What because Pac wasn't in the streets selling Dope and killing rival gang members he doesn't deserve to be accepted by the MOB? That type of backwards ass thinking is why James is still in the position he's in today. He just wants to feel important and he can't get any attention without using Pac's name. No other MOB member are out here saying anything about Pac because they respect Pac and recognize the status that Pac gave them. Pac said himself that when he represents something it's for the Principle's and the honor so he believed in the ethics that the MOB represented. So again what reason does James have to want to disassociate 2Pac from the MOB so badly? When Pac is the reason why his name is known today.
@@richie.rich98 Do you understand how many MOB Pirus don't say anything about anything? And you are crazy if you don't think money played a huge factor in his acceptance. Pac was the money, and he should have stayed in his lane. And at the end of the day, Pac paid for not understanding his role with his life. And there's no argument with that.
@@bbrules8174 That's my point yet you guys support some has been wannabe who's still trying to live off of past glories, if James was really affiliated like that he wouldn't be on here saying shit. What gang member you know goes on the internet and talks about how much of a Gang member he is? What money? Pac didn't have money he died practically broke, and he most definitely wasn't just handing out money to MOB members if that's what you're trying to imply. 2Pac was associated with Death Row before his prison release so he already knew the MOB before hand. So Pac was accepted for Pac nothing else. You speak like someone who clearly knows nothing about Pac. 2Pac 100% understood his role in life, Pac was a SOLDIER and was willing to die for what he believed in. Everyone has their own selfish reasons for why they wish 2Pac was still alive, the man left us 7+ albums and y'all still ain't satisfied. 2Pac did what he did that night because he was representing for his crew it wasn't blood vs crip, it was a chain snatching that's the disrespect. Yet nobody talks about why did Trevon specifically whisper into Pac's ear and only tell Pac? That's a question nobody seems to want to answer.
@@bbrules8174 If you still don't understand, I'll just leave it at this, in less than 1 year 2Pac did more for the MOB than James has been able to do in his entire life that's why there's so much envy towards Pac. It's always the niggas that ain't do shit that are mad at the niggas who actually did something. James can only sit around and be a groupie than actually go out and do something meaningful.
I understand what James is saying, take Tupac as the celeb out of the equation and just picture him as a regular guy trying to do that. It’s like dudes put in work, do prison time, etc and then some dude come in talking about he’s from your hood.
Well said Queen. James is speaking from the hood (gang banging). Not as some hip-hop fan. L.A. gang politics are for real and people are dying for what they signed up for. Claiming and banging the hood.
On the song Temptations on Me Against the world album...2pac hollers "MOB MAN"..that was before deathrow Tupac said mob stood for money organisation and business
1st off, I love the content with Reggie, but damn MOB James is a good pairing on interviews with Reggie, hopefully you guys do more content. 2nd in 2pac's Me against the world, on the song "Temptations" he starts of the song saying, " ay MOB" and I could of sworn he says it a couple more times on that album, but he definitely represented and said it way more after signing with Deathrow. That's was the time to be alive and witness Pac get out on bail and make the rap game blow up more than it was.

Nope. Mob James is 100% correct. Tupac never did nothing in that hood. Never squabbled up, or put in any work on the Compton turf. Facts! That's what Mob James is stating. It has nothing to do with money. It's all about putting it down for the set, and Tupac wasn't ever a part of that. More facts.

Reg, if Pac ended up behind bars in California at that time, would the Pirus in the system have had his back (whether out of love or out of Suge’s influence he had at that time), or do you think that they wouldn’t have acknowledged him like that since he wasn’t really put on? And would it have been a problem? Because I remember James saying on an old TGC podcast that when he was locked up, they would check everyone coming in and make sure they were certified as being from their hood.
