One of the best movies I've seen in years. That's how bad Hollywood has become. This movie had originality charisma and kept me involved. This is a movie i could watch over and over.
Just recently found out about this channel Mr. Franzese, always fascinated about that change of lifestyle of yours. I'm from Greece, but have an uncle who run a restaurant in Brooklyn. He shut it down, full of Chinese and Puerto Ricans down there nowadays. Any stories about you interacting with the Greek community in NY? God bless you and your beautiful family
Genetics are amazing lol. He resembles his grandfather very much so. I like how he said enough without saying too much. A lesson some people could learn in this generation times have really have changed.
Luciano once said “ Meyer understood the Italian brain almost better than I did, that’s why I made him my consigliere, I used to tell him that he may have had a Jewish mother but he must have been wet nursed by a Italian.”
Bugsy and Meyers restaurant is amazing! One of the best steaks in Vegas. I love how you have to work through the Deli to get to the restaurant. Reminds be of the Godfather 2. Great interview Michael. Please keep it up!
Harvey Keitel is perfect for this role. Harvey did such a good job in the Irishman as Angelo Bruno....I didn't know Harvey Keitel was actually Jewish until researched him. So this role is probably like a capstone for him in Mob related films. When you think famous Jewish Mobsters, you think Rothstein, Sigel and Lanksy. Oh yeah and Dutch Shultz too.
Good movie, good interview! Love the part of the interview when he said his grandpa told him"write a few letters, read a few good books & have a few good friends."💯🔥
Dont forget THE Penalty (1920) with Lon Chaney Sr, boss. Its a forgotten classic that deerves your watch and review. Its literally a pre prohibition mob film. Amazingly, a majority of those scene locations still exist in San Francisco.
Hey Michael, please make a movie review "THE MANY SAINTS OF NEWARK" when it get out, have high expectations of this one and I have a feeling it wont let me down! Tony Soprano played by gandolfinis son, its gonne be incredible.
Hello Michael. I am a folower from Denmark. Just wanted to say that i apreciate your videoes and you are a proof to me that Real change Can be made. Thank you for your work and inspiration
@Dan Reidy Not even close to his contemporaries. Lanky preferred BRIBES to violence. Othesr killed first and didn't even bother to ask questions later!
True , he was a developer; hotels / Casinos. Hey Del Webb, Donald Trump and his dad Fred . I seen so much rigged stuff in real estate developers . Howard Hughes was a Vegas builder / Developer and may even had United States sponsorship
@@evillamar372 Oh I know Meyer wasn't a wuss. Story goes that when Lansky was surrounded by Lucky Lucianos Boys and they tried to shake him down, he told Lucky "Fck You"! Luciano was so impressed with Meyers Balls they became fast friends. I heard all of Lanskys kills were in his early days....he did more by Bribe than by Violence, but of course had friends that could deliver a beating or a bullet in extreme cases of non-cooperation if needed!
Interesting insight into Meyer Lansky. Couple of insights. I read that Lansky lived in a suburban area of Miami as oppose to living in a gated mansion. Did the movie show that? Lansky didn't go to the temple. But rabbis showed up at his death bed. That is strange to me.
I can only imagine what it's like being the Boyfriend of one Michael's daughters, Imagine the Intimidation "You do anything to my Daughter I'm going to make you disappear"
Really great stuff Michael... it's amazing that there's only a few around that can give us a glimpse into the past... and you deliver it better than anyone... thank you...
Mr. Mike, You've done it again. Wonderful vid. I wish mainstream media was this professional & enjoyable to watch. Love Ya Michael- Blessins' from Boston
Mr Franzese, only been subscribed with you a couple of days. I have watched a couple of interviews but i love your respect for the people you knew and talked about i will watch a lot more especially the Mob Mondays...
The last 10 min probably show the most interesting details of this mob movie monday, I'm curious to watch the movie... I remember the great Ben Kingsley in the role of Meyer in "Bugsy", I encourage to review this one Michael, to me is one of the best mob movies in spite of real feelings even with the dramatic liberties they took. Cheers!!
Having read Selwyn Raab's book, Five Families, this interview fleshes out detail that the book emphasizes, that Lansky was a significant figure but that the Feds estimates of his fortune at the end were typical Federal hyping of the magnitude of their cases. As mentioned, it's a lot more likely that Anastasia was the driving force behind Murder Inc. rather than Lansky. This interview is as good as it gets, on a level with the work you did with Joe PIstone. Thanks for putting this together.
"Some leave the life quietly and with dignity, some leave the life and make a career out of the fact that they left the life." *cue Michael Franzese intro music*
Just catching up on some RU-vid videos missed few days. What an amazing MMM with You having Myer Lansky grandson along for. Agree with Michael that Myer definitely was very up there/well respected when it came to the Italian mafia dealing with gambling. When Luciano considers a man to have at his right hand and such a close friend it's hard to deny Myers power. Now with the traditions of Cosa Nostra I'm sure there was many things Myer wasnt able to be apart of. Great one Michael and God bless you!💪🙏
You always make the message in the story bigger than the story. The message in a story is what affects people emotionally. Very good thought questioning.
Excatly...I've been tempted to add my 2 cents in but who the fuck am I to add anything, I've read the book Littleman on Lansky decades ago, thats all I can add.
Hi Mr. Franzese, this was Really Great. I plan to check out the film also. Wanted to say that your background for this video is Beautiful along with your green shirt. I always Appreciate your POSITIVITY. Hoping you Wife, Daughters, Sons are ALL VERY WELL.
Hey Michael if possible, it would be nice if you did a video on Vitto Rizzuto, the Boss in Canada that did the 3 capos murder I believe. Thank you for your videos Michael!
Hello Micheal on a different note waiting to recieve your book from Amazon. Quitting the mob. I can't Waite. And amazing mob movie monday. It was great that you had Meyer Lansky junior on. Great stuff Micheal keep it coming pls. Stay safe be blessed
Thanks for reviewing this great film. Lansky was my favorite and after this film I love him even more. It is always good to learn what is real in film and what is not. Thanks again.
Great video great review. But if I get a phone call my grandfather died. I’m not just saying ok and going to bed. He has plenty of time to get to the funeral.. He seems to be ok with missing his grandfathers funerals
Just got done watching this movie and all I can say is WOW! Great movie! My Father during WW2 (1943-45) was on the USS Quincy #71! The Quincy took President Roosevelt to Europe for Yalta and the works on Israel!
Hi Mickel I had the honor to met Mr Lanski on the beach near by Tel Aviv. I was in the age of 18 and he was a very nice old man .One thing that you didn't point, is the great sense of humor that he had.
I vaguely remember several articles about Myer Lansky coming back to Miami from Israel and the Government was waiting for him at the airport. I was about 9 Years old. Living with my grandparents in Ft Lauderdale. It was quite a big deal.
Meyer Lansky was the most interesting and fascinating guy in the mob. He would have preferred to have been a legitimate professional. He considered gambling a harmless vice and entertainment for many. So, he accommodated peoples desire for that kind of entertainment.
I just watch the movie last night, it showed Myer as a very intelligent man. I loved the seen where they open up the safety deposit box. 😆 You're interview with the grandson gave a good insight of his grand fathers "character.: Take care (God Bless ) You
