They found the OG sample for this (Mahalia Jackson: Just Over The Hill (Version II)). Havoc is crazy. Didnt even believe it was that till I pitched the piano down.
This is the hardest track that Mobb Deep ever made out of their entire discography. They have a lot of close runner-ups, but this song is the quintessential; the single grimiest track Mobb Deep recorded. Raw lyricism throughout with no mid-song choruses.
just 3 months ago, the sample for this song has finally been found. Just Over The Hill (Version ll) by Mahalia Jackson. I have been waiting for years for somebody to find the sample and it feels unreal that it has now been discovered.
you can't find the sample because Hav flipped it in a way that prob distorted and tweaked the original sample...with the old equipment he was using such as the MPC and EPS plugins...this is what real beatmakers/samplers do...flip it and create your own sound and that's why Hav is the legend that he is
@@travismclaurin9419 No one knows homie, the sample for Survival of the Fittest (Skylark by Barry Harris) took 20 years to find, can't imagine this one
Mid fall of 2013 through the winter of 2014 was memorable. I was privileged to have this thumbin in my ears during its coldest nights while driving in snow flurries, with the heat blastin, while the Chicago orange street lights were hovering above and its dark mornings going to high school in ill flannels and tims while the sun wasnt even visible yet. Last year of high school so I knew I had to change up some ways to spark memorable times. But seriously though those times wont be forgotten 4real. Now time to spark better spring time memories!! 9:35 p.m. 4/2/14
***** back at chu is a dope ass song i play in the later part of winter too. Spring too. Sunset park was a dope ass movie forreal though. I actually found the movie after i discovered the song haha. Winter vibes all up and down that movie. This past winter was dope as shit too. I destroyed my albums haha. I got my spring/summer playerlist set too. Daytime and nighttime. I will peep that song though. Never heard of it. And no prob man. When i speak my visuals i do get feedback like what u just gave me
Step onto the stage lock into my temperate rage, lyrics know no age , usually I'm writing for days, replay, rewind, we find the projects nice, I feel like this is the home, until we make our first flight, till I drop my first album and we hit that first night,
This, Hell On Earth (Front Lines) and Man Down samples are the unknown samples in that album . Sadly. Those beat were all awesome. I Hope someone will find the samples.
Get dealt with in a split second Verbally spit weapons give led like zeppelin Sorry momma I ain’t listen to the sermon No love for rats kill the vermin Don’t make me react like red and Eric sermon Speak with passion like that lil German ..with the stache Kid I’ll stick you for your cash and like tay k i do the dash Old skool smoke weed woth hash This beat is sick one love to hav Cooking Ill shit up in the lab Hope y’all like this shit I wrote with out a pen and pad
You can't beat old-skool vinyl-crackle looping a quality piano-sample..and a nice 96 Havoc beat over the top of it....Rap/Hip-Hop-Instrumentals at their finest....
I love alot of songs i love in my life. But this track right here. The most wicked beat I have ever heard in my life. I can actually picture myself walking the cold lonely streets with a gun in my waist ready to cause pain to humanity with this beat playing in the background. Fucking sick
Don't know how true it is, but someone said this is the same sample used for "Drop A Gem on 'Em", but slowed down and an extra key was removed. Either way, it's still dope.
The513Warning I think you might be right. It sounds like 4 notes are played then the rest are in reverse kinda. And if u listen to the Gen sample it ain't far fetched
so Grimy and Dark. Depressing and Ominous. Imagine listening to this while driving in an empty street in the projects with few street lights. Hellish and shady. I don’t know how to explain.
