I agree - I hope they will be restored as well. Long term it will be best for Yangon to preserve a distinct character.

I just love old buildings, they are so full of history and should never be demolished to make way for modern/ugly ones. I am fortunate that I have seen many wonderful old buildings in Europe and also in Latin American countries where there are a lot of Spanish colonial-era buildings, most of which are still in their original state.

I haven't changed any money along this road yet. The closest place I have changed money is the money exchange on the top floor of the Junction City mall - which is within easy walking distance of 21st street. Remember to bring US dollars in perfect condition - otherwise they will not accept them. We once had dollar noted rejected because they had a tiny bend in the corner.
