Plane space on a specialized funerary plane, fuel, shipping costs, refrigeration expenses at the multiple housing facilities involved to preserve the body as they switch ownership from multiple hands (the sister mentioned it not being a straight flight, but stopping in Pensacola etc). Those are all things to understand in context. Yes, they tax and add-on expenses just like they do our regular flights now because many flights used to be $70 most places and to islands and other countries less than $200-250 and now they’re many hundreds if not thousands of dollars. (and this was during the time our parents and grandparents have been alive so not too long ago.) The state of Hawaii also has its own issues to address because there are still hundreds of their own natives displaced from their homes and they haven’t even helped them. Maybe if he was a government contractor or working a govt assignment, they’d feel more obliged, but he was just a citizen who fell in love with and moved on the island. Also think of how many ppl there are who can’t get their dead relatives back from places even farther away than the state of HA bcs they fell in love with other countries and passed away while they were there. With all this in context, I hope you can understand why it wouldn’t be realistic to think that they would do anything..

I always think about how the individual may have suffered before their passing. He had to have been in a terrible mind state at the moment. One thing about living on this planet is OUR hearts will forever be broken behind the death of loved ones, but a tragic death hits very hard. I am so sorry he had to endure this and the pain left behind with his loved ones.

He definitely found the magnificent creations of God under the water and understand why he stayed there to pursue happiness and the beauty of the land there. I'm sure he must have known how to swim, but for anyone seeing this, make sure to teach your children when young how to swim. Our hope lies in the resurrection.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's always tragic to lose any family member and loved one. We must All be prepared because we don't know the day or the hour when we will be leaving this earth. That is why it's important to get our end of life things in order. I myself, can't afford life insurance, but what I did do for my family was have our Cremation/burial services all paid for in full. Just in case. I did not want to have any monetary burden put on other family members who could not afford it. I'm praying for you and will donate, hoping it will help get your brother back home. I just watched a video of a mother and daughter coming from a concert, was both hit and killed by a young man speeding as they were crossing the street. This shows we never know when our departure is going to be, so we must always be ready, by accepting Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior (ST John 3RD Chp Verses 15, 16, 17, 18.

To be honest I've never seen anyone use bubbles before for a memorial service but I do think that would be beautiful too I also wonder if it costs to much for them to fly his body home could they get enough to go out there to him and have a service there and burial just another option but I do understand them wanting to bring him home maybe that could be their new vacation spot in honor of him and to go visit his grave and pay their respects since he loved it there also

If he was working as a diver in Hawaii, for past two years, the family should first check if he had insurance with the employer for this sort of work. If the employer owes him back pay, etc., Not sure if the young man was in military but the family should check that as well. If the family does not have insurance themselves, they might want to just allow burial by the government in Hawaii. All his extended family members and friends should put money together, if possible. As well, they each could borrow from credit card or a loan as a group if they want to have the family member transported from Hawaii to Alabama. SouthWest Cargo does this starting at around $1,800.00+ or try a money request. God tests all of us in many ways.
