Well done! Four years ago I purchased a double wide, built in 1978. Learning a lot about how it wasn't maintained. Now have had all the water leaks repaired, back bathroom work being done now. Thank you for your inspiration. I cannot say I have no mortgage though. I love my location, and wasn't willing to give up on this. Thanks again

I LOVE IT!! This is exactly what we're doing, we're renovating a mobile home that's paid for so we can stop paying rent. I absolutely love the way this came out, definitely an inspiration for me.

This came out really well. My wife and I are thinking of doing something like this in the future. We're currently looking for some land in a more rural part of the state. Once the kids are grown and out of the house, we won't need anything approaching the size home we have now. Quite frankly with as much as it costs to do anything now regarding building a home, something like this is the way to go! You've taken the sort of mobile home that gives "trailer parks" a bad name and turned it into a beautiful home. I am quite impressed at what you were able to do with that single wide!

Habitat for humanity is a great organization. I always donate to them when I have something that they can use. I see people on tv and RU-vid remodeling and they take a sledgehammer to the cabinets that are perfectly good, and could be a great addition to someone who is on a budget. It makes me feel sad that there is such little regard for something that could be reused and then ends up in the landfill.

Nice! I have a new singlewide. We tried to gut and reclaim the old one that was here but black mold and too many additions and roof lines to manage from rain. Just wanted to share that I got a bar -height table and it works awesome as a table, a bar and extra prep space for cooking. Love your little pad! Yes, love that you don't have rent anymore. I'm in a mobile home myself I've rehabbed and lived in them basically my whole life I really advocate buying the "mobile home repair manual " best 50 bucks ever spent written by a guy who repairs m.homes for like 40 years he has a cool system for a "roof over" which I've done best thing ever did and I think everyone who has thin metal siding does a sheathing of solid wood on exterior and high grade sheetrock fire resistant and sound deadening and same for insulation I know it's a lot upfront but I did homes side by side with and without it its cost is easily justified when you feel the difference and that repair manual has a really cool system for heavy duty skirting systems and insulation underneath home also. Just bought a 2 bed/2 bath 16x60 for 5k!!! Prior owner is elderly and going to assisted living, but they already redid all the subfloors, new tub surrounds, sink tops and toilets in the bathrooms are newer as well. Really just will have to redesign the kitchen and change the flooring and we're good. This no mortgage, no rent life (well, just lot rent at 600/mo) is about to be awesome. We'll probably stay until our youngest finishes school in 2030 and get working on our retirement home likely somewhere rural and with a double or triple wide on a foundation.

Y'all did a really great job! Very impressive 👏 it looks like a brand new mobile home! And now your home is worth alot more than what you paid for it and put into it.
