On RU-vid? Just RU-vid? Bro, I can't stand to watch any other hunting show period anymore. I used to be satisfied with any show that put bucks on the ground until I learned there was something better.
I’m a “working man.” My archery rig is $2400. Everything I use is on the pricier side. Because I get to hunt maybe 5/10 times a season failure isn’t an option
Sounds like someone who can’t afford Sitka FirstLite or Kuiu lol…. I got tired of being cold and wet So now I’ve got about 2k worth of Sitka waterfowl stuff and I’m about to start buying the whitetail stuff… Don’t shit on people because they buy something you don’t like or can’t
@@justinryan1488 I got the first light sanctuary 2.0 this year, best outter layer you could ask for, went out in the 20’s with thermals and light weight hoodie and was warm
Like how you guys aren’t selling out and wearing thousands of dollars worth of camo clothes and expensive gear. True hunters. Don’t need all that to be successful! Keep up the good work.
Yup. Ive picked up most of my hunting clothes in thrift stores and It all happened to be greenleaf by trebark and bottomland. I started watching THP about three years ago and they never waver in how they portray hunting. The only problem with them is that they let ted shave his stash.
Dennis G would have to disagree unless you’re talking about masking your scent . But I’ve attracted hundreds of deer, dozens of black, Brown, grizzly bears with scents of various sweet scents and urine scents
I've got one. I fold the sides up on it though. Watching THP edit one day and my wife says, '...hey, that guy has a hat like yours'. The hat brings good fortune. Arrowed many good deer wearing it here in Missouri, including a heavy, 160 class non-typ. Love that hat Ted!
I agree 100% with MichiganFishing! I can't stand watching the sponsored shows where you get 45 minutes of infomercial and 5 minutes of the staged hunt, followed by 10 minutes of how and where to go for MORE information. You boys are real hunters doing real hunting for real animals...just like the rest of us. Thanks for what you do, and especially for HOW you do it!!!
Then again this is what Aaron and Ted take. Zach is Mr Ghillie and he’s part Neanderthal any way. Love that guys motor. Bet he destroyed his opponent and helped them back to their feet grinning the whole time
Awesome video! Check out my elk scouting trip video.... My buddy and I went out this evening and had 260 elk walk by us over 40 minutes.... I was danger close to a couple times
You guys have motivated me to explore the public land (last year)near my hunting property. It a less pressured area and I can access through my land. Now this year you have me sniffing the fairy dust. Upping my arrow game this year. Thanks for putting out great videos!
You guys should check out the Wrangler Outdoor Comfort Flex pants. They're cheap and lightweight. Would be good for early season or possibly late with some layers underneath.
Who dislikes The Hunting Public videos? I mean really? What type of sour shit comes to a RU-vid video and clicks dislike? If you don't like it just go watch competitive sock knitting.
Glad to see y’all believing in the Ranch Ferry!! That’s who opened my eyes to weight forward arrows! I love the Magnus Black Hornets. Good luck this season!!
I notice there isn't a kill kit listed in the gear. I know RU-vid is tricky with that kind of thing, but I would LOVE to hear about how you guys manage field dressing, processing, and otherwise managing the deer after the hunt. It's easy when you have your own farm, but when I tag a deer on public, I often find myself thinking... "well... what now?" since every hunt seems to happen when I don't have help or access to a cooler. Thanks!
New to hunting and came across y’all’s channel. Purchased a Bear ADAPT + ready to hunt setup. I’m just going to public hunt places and find an elevated area and sit next to a tree. I’m doing the bare minimum to hunt. I tournament bass fish and that’s where my money is tied up into lol.
In reality you don't need all of that. This just fits the materialistic society we live in. But what do I know, I've only been chasing bulls for 26 years and I'm 38 and I never watched hunting shows, just guided them on private ranches were they acted like they were in public lands for 14 years.
Thanks for great info..I cant wait for Iowa's season to open..I've been watching alot of ranch fairy videos on arrow set up and have been thinking about switching up my set up..also really want to try out the saddle this year since I hunt alot of public ground my self..I do have private ground but it's a small area so I rotate ground when hunting..thanks again guys and cant wait for season opener
Just picked up a my first bow three days ago, haven't shot one since I kid and have a nice takedown recurve. Slowly but surely getting back into hunting, I really appreciate all the info you guys have out, the gear you use, getting me excited for next season to get out and bag a few
Why do you guys choose bear brand bows when there are so many let’s say higher end bows out on the market? Example Mathews Hoyt elite or PSE. Reason I ask this question is because when I got into archery I bought a bear and every time I would get things set it would change due to cheap rubber band strings they put on those bows at the end my bow pulled 61.5 pounds maxed out and after all the stretching over time that bow had dropped all the way down to 52 lbs that’s a 10 lb weight loss and quite a lot of speed and many many aggravating trips out to shoot. It seemed every time I would shoot it was off due to that problem I mentioned. Also are you still seeing these issues with there bows today? Since I have moved to elite and now exclusively shoot Mathews bows and either of those I’d buy new shoot for a week make the tweaks from what small amount of stretching that might have most of the time that’s none anyway and those bows are good for the life of those strings
Love that you guys hears and clothes are similar to what I'll be hunting in and using...... just like your average hunter trying to go out and put some bucks on the ground!
I have had very little luck on my property for the last few years due to constant trouble from neighbors. Thanks to your channel I am gonna try some public hunting this year. Keep up the good work guys!
Is there any chance one you have an extra set of climbing sticks you want to sell? I'm new to the whitetail world, and there are not many used sticks for sale.
The older patterns in camo seem to blind honestly better than today's bright camo and yeah it's nice on a store model but go in the woods and actually wear each and see you will be mad at yourself for buying all that top shelf stuff send money on good arrows tuning your bow the things that really matter .
You guys sold me on the saddle set up last year. After 24 years of ladder and stand hunting. I’ve made the switch and plan to still use the tree stands in addition to the saddle this year. Can’t wait !
i shoot the 2020 bear archery paradox hc dual cam bow at about 55-60 lbs approx. fastest bow i have ever owned..very accurate!! my arrows are approx 400 grains with a 3 blade muzzy mx3 .
If yall are passing through Oklahoma, just keep driving! You guys are killers! And I'm sure yall will expose my best spots. Good luck this season, I'm excited to see what you happens on THP.
The lighter the gear the better. I like Muck boots. Comfortable, warm, and quiet. I have bought some boots that actually squeaked with every step. Don't skimp on foot gear and wool socks. Helps to get boots a little big with lighter insulation so you can wear cool season then layer socks when it gets crazy cold. Boots that have insulation that comes high up on your shins really help in super cold weather and wading shallow creek crossings.
Everybody talks about picking the right tree. The only one ive seen talk about the right height is dan infalt. Love to see an episode on this. Also im a large guy. Would you recommend a saddle for a big guy?
You guys should really consider ditching all the cotton clothes for synthetic or wool fabrics. You can do it on the cheap (don't have to buy thousands of dollars of clothing as MichiganFishing suggests), but it would change your lives in the woods. Cotton is just about the worst possible fabric for hot, cold, and/or rainy days.
I love all of you guys stuff and I cant tell you how happy I am that yall shoot fixed... and all talk up Magnus. My family has shot stingers for years and they are so wicked. I went to Montecs, then to strikers, grim reapers (lost my biggest buck because I think it broke apart or didnt open) then to Rage.....ultimately come back to a Stinger... I have no affiliation with them at all, they are just such a devastating broadhead and when you need to punch through a little bit of brush, it doesn't phase them. Also I think I speak for a lot of your viewers who are like me just the average joe hunter.... great to see you aren't covered head to toe in sitka or kuiu gear (not that its bad stuff)... Nice to see yall get it done in old camo. Makes you more relatable to the average guy.
Aaron - what is your arrow length, draw weight and draw length? My buddy is getting some 250 spine arrows and is going to bare-shaft tune them. I know it'll be a little different for everyone but since you told us 250 spine with 120 grain insert and 150 grain broadhead, if we knew the arrow length and your draw weight / draw length it would be a good starting point. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing some info on your lightweight mobile gear set ups. Obviously the best thing to invest in for hunting, fishing, etc... is oneself over the "gotta have" gear. I could tell a few years ago when I subbed that you all are blue collar, down to earth guys that just want to hunt and share that knowledge and experience with everyone and inspire others to do so. I am sure 90% of your viewers wear similar clothing that they can get deals on and wear them until they fall apart instead of getting into the Sitka, First Lite, Kuiu, Kryptek, or even Scentlok game. Speak of inspiring, I myself have never been a fan of hang on stands and sold my climber over a decade ago. Still have not shot a deer with my old bow that I got back in 06 (PSE Fire Flite 33, a Cabela's Exclusive that I got for $160 in the Bargain Cave when they had one), but want to get better at the natural ground blind set up, spot and stalk game and perhaps even go with a saddle system. However I did go onto the Tethrd site via your link, I am not sure I am going to be able to afford what looks like a $500 set up all said and done once the accessories are added on. The girlfriend probably wouldn't approve, but many guys have that issue. lol ... There is some steep country here in WV and I bought my PA non resident license for the first time ever in hopes of doing some public land hunting over there for deer, turkey, and small game including waterfowl and pheasant. So a saddle would be extremely helpful there.
Had to do the white mans overbite and say ohhh yea! when Warb pulled out the arrow set up! The magnus is convenient. But there really is something special about the single bevel. Ranch Fairy s last video about the starburst effect is something old guys like me can only talk about . Until u see it then you won’t switch ever. And then and only then you start taking gun shots with your bow. Just aim for the heart shots! Bone explosion is a special thing. !!!
Great info guys. U should checkout King's Shadow Desert camo. I bought a very saddle friendly pair of 💧 pants that r made to be worn in layers. The key is that in between the inside layer & the camo shell there is a stitched in compartment that has foam knee pads inside that u could probably play football in. Game changer 4 me when I want to go from my Perch to resting my feet & snuggling the 🌳 with my knees. My Badlands pack is small & is never full. Nice to be light until u have some weight with purpose to return with.🤩
I'm surprised you don't carry survival gear or a compass. I generally hunt alone so I'm always paranoid but man that's kinda scary. Compass, lighter, food, life straw, thermal blanket, and mirror is absolutely necessary.
Ted those pants are VERY fatigued. :) I think you should have an auction and sell those pants and perhaps a vintage pair of sunglasses, maybe a smurf and donate the money to a conservation group.
Hey guys first video I have seen good information most guys are taking there sink with them and I am all about moving quickly light and very quietly have subscribed looking forward to watching more videos ;)
I have that hys strap. I used it for my platform but it was way to difficult to get it tight enough so I used the original buckle strap and it works way better. But I may start taking with me in my pack to use when I get some sticks
Do you guys mind getting your regular leather boots wet, or do you always wear the rubber boots or waders if there is the slightest chance of getting your feet wet? And do the leather boots hold up when they get soaked frequently?
I use the lacrosse knee highs and love mine. I have a pair in 400 grams and a pair in 1000 gram depending on the weather. When I’m near hunting I’m using the 400s because I’m covering ground in potter county
I've been in the market for a new bow, went a purchased a new Species today. First new bow I've owned since '03. I've had new to me used bows since then, but after seeing this and doing some research I couldn't pass up a new Bear.
You guys should check out the Millennium M7 Microlight tree stand. I've found that sometimes the tether saddle doesn't work for me on (sloping trees) set ups so I keep this tree stand at camp as an alternative. It weighs about 8 lbs, has a good sized platform and a really comfortable seat. It's also easy to set up compared to other stands. I simply just swap my sticks over if I need to use it. Also I keep a kill pack fanni pack. You guys should go over your kill packs as well!
I’m going to try saddle hunting out this year as soon as mine comes in. What are your thoughts on the one stick method of climbing? Wondering if the height possibility is worth the trade off of having to rappel down
Nice arrow setups im going with the cut throats 125gr can't wait to see how they do i think its gonna be Aaron's year he's due for a monster good luck to everyone...
Love the channel. Keep up the hunt. Question I see you guys in muddy harnesses can I get the info on those. Really looking at getting I to hang-on stands and even saddle hunting this year in Southwest Arkansas
Guys, you should give swag to guys who have your sticker on their truck/car if you see them out while your on the deer tour. I bet you sell a ton of stickers for the deer tour states. MN opens in a little less then a month! Good luck
how is the saddle for an all day hunt? I'm going to Nebraska for 2 weeks in November and I'll be doing all day sits. a lot of the places we hunt are long walks and so I want to be as light as possible but also want to be comfortable. or am I better off with a light weight lock on?
