Our Mock Tribunal was delivered in collaboration with St Philips Chambers who undertook the roles of Counsel for the Claimant (employee), Counsel for the Respondent (employer) and the Judge.
Our employment law team brushed off their acting skills and played witness roles giving evidence as part of the process.
The event was an immersive simulation of a real thing tribunal hearing. The session has was designed for HR professionals and decision-makers. It allowed the audience to experience, first-hand, the hearing of evidence, cross-examination, submissions and the final decision from the 'Judge' based on a challenging scenario many businesses face.

I'm taking my employer to tribunal and the case evidence is going to be well over 1000 pages. It's going to be the mother of all trials, so this will be a very good watch for me nearer to the time! Great vid!

Bet you don’t have as much hard evidence as I do :)

@@cosmosreadin2706 I'm self representing. So far its been quite easy, just waiting for the preliminary hearing. Im going for gender and racial discrimination

@@Phoenix258 I have a racial and disabilty discrimination, and whistleblowing case. Slghtly complex, as it can be fitting the puzzle together. Will it be your first time self-reprsenting ? And are your evidences reasonably substantial ?
@Phoenix258
@Phoenix258 2 года назад
@@cosmosreadin2706 Yeah mine is also very complex. I've never represented myself before but I have a legal job so I understand how the legal processes work. I think my evidence is very substantial to be honest, but I'm also not going to try and convince myself i'm right before we get to court. Need to prepare for the unexpected!

I found this very useful, specifically the fact that it isn't just about the information that was used but the information that was not used.

Fifas and Call of Dutys, Irons and Toasters. Haha Fantastic video. Really forces you to think about the way your actions may be portrayed, even when you carry out your duties with the best of intentions. Really insightful. Great video!

Very informative indeed, especially for someone not familiar with how proceedings work. I would suggest all representatives show this video to their clients to enable them to be more familiar with how a tribunal is conducted and not to be thinking of it as a court-like situation. Two things disturbed me about the case summing up, If the Dr says a person is unfit for work, does he have to stipulate that this includes meetings? I would have assumed that a meeting is considered a work related activity and as such the Dr is saying the person is unfit to attend. Also, with the failure to interview the manager as part of the dismissal procedure, perhaps finding out more evidence or lack thereof, how can it be possible for the judge to come to a conclusion as to the outcome of the meeting? This being dependent on the judge saying that the manager should have been interviewed. Do you have any plans to show different types of claims, disability, harassment etc?

Very useful. Can u list 94.6 or as its listed now as I can't seem to find it where in regards and employees direct actions added up to no other option but termination on the ground of their own conduct
