This is Jamil's first mock test with me. He's done 13 hours of driving lessons with his driving instructor. He has also had a little bit of practice with a family member.
Jamie knows how to control the car well and he's confident driving but he's a little unfamiliar with roundabouts and the rules of the roads.

As a learner driver myself, it really does my head in when drivers overtake me when I'm driving at the speed limit and quite well at that. It's like the minute they see the L sign, they think I/you're going to hold up traffic. Though more often than not, the light changes to red when they do that to me, which always makes me laugh. It's like.. was it worth it? 😋

I literally had that the other day. The funniest part about it was my instructor told me to beep the horn at them because the lights went green but they weren’t moving. I hope they were really embarrassed getting beeped by a learner!

😀😀 i did so many lessons that i could no longer count, failed my first test in March. But was worth it cause i just passed last week. I would always say keep pushing harder, it will pay. And watch a lot of videos and keep replaying them in your head so you can avoid them. Good luck to everyone trying to get theirs. I would also like to recommend the instructor in this video, your tone of voice is sooting.

Just passed my test yesterday with 3 minor faults, and these videos have honestly helped with the process massively. Thanks for all the guidance and help along the way, and I highly recommend these videos to anyone still learning. I'm picking up my car tomorrow and can't wait to start driving independantly!

I passed my driving test today in the first attempt without any minor faults. I didn’t have any driving lessons with an instructor, but I learnt a lot from your mock test and driving lesson videos. Your explanations are really fantastic. I would be much greatful to you Aman and wish you all the success in future. Also, I would highly recommend other learner drivers to follow these videos which are very helpful.

Hey Jamil, some of that was really good, but I think the mistakes are just lack of experience, but after just 13 lessons you're on the way to being a good driver. Good luck for your test when it comes.

You are the best instructor and mentor. Anyone who found you in person or online they are lucky. Just by looking at your videos one could pass there is so much information on every topic. One can easily find their own mistakes and learn how to correct them from your videos. They are QUALITY. I learned to discover my own mistakes improve my driving just from your videos. I’ve being driving for many years but I still find it helpful to look at these mock driving test videos, mainly to keep up to speed on rule changes and all other things driving. For example, I didn’t know (or perhaps realise) about the 12 o’clock turning positions on roundabouts, which I’ve now found useful. I wonder whether driving examiners give a “debrief” to failed candidates, as I recall they used to just mark the sheet, say you’ve failed and leave you and your instructor to work out what went wrong on the test.

Yes the 12 o’clock is brilliant! Always great when travelling in a new area (there will be clear road markings if this is not the case) The examiner will ask if you’d like your instructor to listen in to the result and debrief, it’s usually just the main point they go over. You can ask questions if you have any

You actually learn to drive after you pass your test for up to 6 years. Passed in 10 lessons with manual within 2 months. Pinner. Took the test at 10AM on a Tuesday. 10 minors. "giving way, wrong gear, wrong lane etc....that was 2008 👀...I didnt get a car with over 100hp till 8 years after 👀.

Felt sorry for him on the roundabout (about 20 minutes in). It's really tough when you don't know an area and queueing traffic blocks your view of road markings.

I didn't do many hours before my first test, I didn't pass first time I passed on my 4th. But I worked on a building site and used to drive machines around for years before I had my license. So I picked up a few bad habits from working machines. I also had a van and was learning in that. So didn't use my rear view mirror enough as my van didn't have one.

I have done 17 hours of driving and did a mock test yesterday and failed with 2 minors and 1 serious. The serious was for speed. ❤ I have about 15 hours left before my test. 🤞

Having watched a few of these mock tests, I do wish my own instructor was as observant and patient as Aman seems to be. I passed my test back in 2010 after a similar number of hours behind the wheel so seeing so many faults here is surprising.

Most people need way more than 13 hours to pass the test. It would be more surprising if he actually passed.

@@FlyingPhysicist I'll admit some of them were surprising such as the lane discipline and constantly driving in the overtaking lane. But really for 13 hours it's impressive he covered everything for the test. At 13 hours, I think I was on crossroads and pedestrian crossings and only learnt one manoeuvre by then. Don't think I went past 3rd gear either.

I was driving a two wheeler and suddenly a flock sheep came out of no where in front of me I was driving in limit so thankfully i applied break at the good time and on my left a car hit a sheep but thankgod everything was fine... Take care people...

At 3:34 as an instructor you told him at the roundabout right 3rd exit where as does in real test the examiner tells the same about the round about just like you said???? Or they just say at around about 3rd exit skipping right???? Word?

if we take the wrong lane in a roundabout, can we fix it by going around again and changing lanes later? example 1: taking left lane for 3rd exit by mistake, after 3rd exit, moving to right lane again example 2: taking right lane for 2nd exit, after 3rd exit, moving to left lane again. is it illegal to change lanes this way?

If the roundabout was empty and had zero traffic it would be ok. But it's a serious fault if you cause a car to slow down or change direction so no point in changing lanes as you're gonna risk getting a serious fault. Just pick a lane and stick to it. If it's wrong you just go whatever way it's going. I took wrong directions on both my bike and car test and missed a 3rd exit on roundabout so went round again instead of cutting lanes. Passed both first time so it's not worth the risk and yet you see so many do it all the time. I had a car cut across 3 lanes and almost wipe me out on my bike because he wanted an exit but didn't even look in his mirrors. Nothing is that important that it's worth failing your test or killing somebody just to save a few minutes.

I think he had a problem with speed bcs he was focused inside the car when the limit was 30 but the road was actually 20 and he didnt pay attention to road markings ! Someone needs to tell him its not 100%true what the cars satnav shows.

Why is it sometimes an Advisory and the a Serious for him being in the wrong lane when driving on a straight?

The first fault was advisory as it was a bus lane (being in the overtaking lane) As we went ahead he just carried on in the overtaking lane without even trying to change lanes (the left lane was no longer a bus lane)

Hey it’s due to the fact that it’s not a very long road and he was upto the speed of the road So it wasn’t a major due to this fault But he carried on in the overtaking lane after that and that was now a major
