I've seen this episode a million times but it's only now that I appreciate how multinational it is. An Australian guy on an English show, hosted by an Irish guy with a regular Scottish panellist, and everyone is united by comedy. How pleasant.
This is my favourite moment from the whole episode! Absolutely hilarious!! "And if needs be, the velcro" XDXD "Get your foot out Adam" XDXD "Is that the one you had made so that you could wear a thong?" XDXD
It just occurred to me that I'm getting an implant to decrease the number of seizures that I have (I have epilepsy) and the implant is a thin metal thing that goes under my skin in the crease of my neck so it will be almost invisible so it will probably surprise airport security because I will set the metal detectors off! xD
I have hydrocephalus as a result of epilepsy issues and I had a shunt fitted in with some clips in, so yeah it happens to me at airports... Man do they feel awkward lol
***** Actually, it's a great bit of disability demystification. Adam (who is Australian, not British) has always had the attitude that people can ask him anything about his prosthetic leg.
+Vermillion 303 Though he does seem to have his limits. E.g., while he freely shows his artificial foot I've never seen him show his leg without the prosthetic.
There's a youtuber called Footless Jo who talks about doing stuff as an amputee. She did talk about airport security, and I can't remember exactly what she said but I think she mentioned usually not having to take her foot off, but they do swab it.
He says Oscar Pistorius fuck it up for disabled people but I think Adam Hills has taken up that metaphorical baton of inspiration and is now an aspiring role model... 🙃🙃🙃
