*Contains some strong language. Mock the Week Series 19 Episode 6 Dara O’Briain and Hugh Dennis with guests Tom Allen, Maff Brown, Ria Lina, Ed Byrne and Rhys James.
You do notice very well that the comedians prepare for the show a lot, because during the questions everyone except Maff had 10 good lines at the ready. His stand-up bit was pretty good though, had a good chuckle on "protein shake". Props to him for stepping up!
I know covid was real it nearly killed my younger brother, on a machine for 5 days, but it didnt seem to be anywhere near our village, apart from one lad who died, well lads pushing it he was 57 and had had bypasses, but otherwise nobody else caught it in all the village, of which a large numgber of very old people reside here. The fogeys seemed immune already lol.. I think l might av had it a few weeks before it was announced, l had one nostril run for 7 days, that stopped and it was followed by a very very mild cough forr 7 days then that cleared and the other nostril ran slightly for 7 days and that was it. 🤔
He's probably sleeping on a sofa in Dara's office, they're old friends. I doubt they're letting Ed Dara or Hugh out of the studio, the show must go on, even if it's just the three of them, a receptionist, the makeup guy, one of Milton's shirts and a photo of Nish.
I absolutely love Ed, can you tell me another shows he is in, so I can search for them? Unfortunately there is hardly any other option than RU-vid for me, because video players on the the websites of BBC and others aren't working outside of the UK. 😢
@@FrauM. absolutely! he’s been on QI, Would I Lie To You, Was It Something I Said, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, HeadJam, the Panel, and 8 Out of 10 Cats. He was also on great British Bake off (celebrity version), has been on a few talk shows (several on the Graham Norton Show), and has tons of his own stand up on RU-vid as well!
Unfortunately we don't get many british shows over here in Germany. I am so happy for this weekly upload of Mock the week. Ed should be regularly in the show, he is hilarious!
Trenton Quarantino. Need my regular Hugh Dennis fix. I know he is more known as an actor but love to see him branch out into stand up. Not sure it would work though.
Yeah. I've always preferred the show when they've had more regulars. I think it's just that the show has a more distinct character that way. Would love to see Ed become one. Or Milton, or Angela. I think the show would be better that way.
A warm up comedian's gotta be good. Damn good. He's dealing with an audience that might not be in a giggly mood yet so he's gotta be good enough to make people who're neutral laugh. That's difficult to do. He's definitely earned his right to be there
Maff did really well on this episode, but you could tell he was told he’d be on at really short notice tho. Like the rest of them were all prepared and had their jokes at the ready, whereas Maff seemingly only had his standup ready and was mostly quiet throughout a fair bit. But credit where credit is due, he did really well. Hope to see more of him
Hes gotta be a pretty good comedian, if he's doing warm-up performance. It's his job to put people in the giggly mood, so he's gotta make people laugh from being completely neutral. I'd love to see how he'd do with some prep time
She said on Twitter that she’s alright, she got tested for COVID and it came back negative, she just had a cold of some sort and will be fine. She wanted to be safe.
@@justalittlealien It was terrible. And I laughed out loud, so I'm a pretty awful person. I do love Angela, though, so at least I feel guilty about it!
@Eric Anderson Yeah, no, there's NOTHING objective about a sense of humour. It's entirely subjective. You're not the arbitrator of what's legitimately funny. Sorry, maybe you missed the memo.
@Eric Anderson Oh, please do explain performance to me some more, Eric, you ponce. You write like a first-year university student trying to sound smart. You're embarrassing yourself.
@Eric Anderson comedy is not just the delivery, but the reception of the joke. The objective aspects of comedy, if they exist, would relate to the delivery, your comment relates to the reception, which is subjective. My (also subjective) opinion is that Ria did a great job.
That was weird at the end, the “losing” team were visibly upset that they lost. I never care who Dara declares a winner. I enjoy all the jokes. They’re always all winners to me!
