Today im going to be installing custom firmware on an old PSP using the easiest process i know. This will work with a PSP 1000, 2000, 3000 I thought id document it in case someone out there might want to follow along. Hope you all enjoy.
*Not for PSP GO or PSP Street models.

Thanks bruhh you're a legendary!! I messed up by updating the system to 6.61 any my psp crashes when running fast recovery. I followed guides where you do a lot of downloading stuff which has a tendency to brick the console(which I would never flippin do) and I messed up by doing the reformatting guides while not saving my progress on the PC and lost my years of YuGiOh and Tekken progress :((( . Just an FYI I always want to tack onto these videos ... Make sure you are plugged into AC adapter and not just on battery. If your battery just happens to die or the connection gets knocked loose or whatever while you are updating the firmware, it's possible to brick the system.

Make a folder with caps named ISO at the memory card with the other folders extract the zip files with the rom you had downloaded at the iso folder and you are done

Hey! After following all your instructions, I've rebooted at 4:48 but my psp system software states: "Version 6.61 ∞ " instead of "6.61 Pro-C ∞" like yours. My psp is the 2000 version. Additionally, after transferring iso game files to the psp, but none of my games are opening up. CIPL flasher for PRO-C is corrupted for me as well.

@@cravingxhunter6934 ok I gotchu once you download a game you’ll need to extract the file , if it’s already not a folder with an iso in it but either way you’ll need an iso file. Once you have it plug in your psp and drag it into your GAME folder under the PSP folder. If you do not have one you can create one once it transfer just unplug psp go to menory card should be there

If you are using window computer, Just go to "my computer", and go to "download"

Everything was going great but it looked like the firmware is not permanent so if you have this problem you need to enter to the fast recovery app so make sure you don't delete it

It all depends on what you plan on using your PSP for. I have infinity on one of my PSPs and it's awesome very customizable. But if all you want to do is play backups,homebrew and emulators 6.60 pro c works just fine

There is two files on the bottom on yourSD card Pro installer and launcher. You need to install them.

If you're on psp e1004, just drag put the eboot file inside a fodler called "launcher" and paste it into Psp/Game

I tried this tutorial but once i clicked the pro update...it just took me to a blck screen and waited for a few minutes then shuts down (green light shuts down)...why is that? I might format my memory stick

Hey dude, wondering if you know what's the issue. When I've downloaded the CFW on my memory stick and go to the Pro Updator it just gives me a black screen, and the only way to get out of it is to restart the system. I've tried different CFW files yet it won't budge. Any clue what's going on?
