4:55 I'm sure that mechanic was already somewhat in Half-Life in the first place. If you shoot at a long hallway with an MP5, if you pay attention, you can see the bullets actually travelling. It just didn't work that well with enemy HECU grunts since the bullets travel so fast and the action is fast too (not to mention the MP5's rate of fire in this game).

Hot damn, imagine a mix of the music from Max Payne and Half-Life. Film noir meets industrial. Could be somewhat decent if you actually tried.

The last (and final) update of Half-Payne added 2 new weapons and a few new game modes. The M249 from Opposing Force and the Ingram, which of course can be used in duals.

I think if they added a few enemies into the slower, platforming-based sections of the game, it would mix things up a bit and put more focus on the action.

I'm stupid, I didn't know that the slow motion bar was an hourglass.

The recent updates has made the mod even better. New weapons, Half-Life voicelines are tailored to Payne (OH SHIT! WE GOT PAYNE!), bonus challenges that extend the gameplay, really top notch shit.

Max Payne, Half Life, Quake, DOOM, Serious Sam, and Duke Nukem... all glorious games that all should like and play

I just love Max Payne 1 & 2. I can finish them and feel like I was on a rollercoaster ride, and yell "Again, Again" - and then I load up a new game and repeat it all again...and again.... and again..... fandamntastic games !.

The coolest sounding part of this mod to me, is the enemy projectile weapons.

There's been updates, more guns, full voice lines from Max Payne, and Max Payne music! and decent subtitles, and more gamemodes

Max Payne's iconic jacket is reminiscent of Brad Pitt's David Mills from 'Seven'. Also, the whole concept of bullet time reminds me of the Trancers movies. If you splice the "Long Second Escape" theme from the original Trancers into a segments of gameplay where bullet time is engaged, it'll fit perfectly. 3:57 "Both barrels of the SPAS-12." * *head explodes 'Fist of the North Star' style* *

You know I would like to more mods for Halo (1) campaign like this or anything at this point. It's always half life or doom mod. Never Halo mods

Why don't anyone ever talk about how tounge in cheek, self aware and meta the original two Max Payne's are. That's what stands out the most to me.

This just makes me want to play "The specialists"... Damn I miss that game.

I suspect that since most of the core game code is untouched you could probably load some custom maps that would be more suited to the mod. Might be worth a shot.

As much as I love max Payne. Idk how the hell it gets so much credit with slow mo "real time" bullet action. Perfect Dark is the pioneer of that. There was a Combat Boost CO2/NOS power up in Perfect Dark, that would get you high, slow down gameplay to half time to get out of tight situations. Those were N64 days and almost nobody mentions this feature. Which reminds me. I wish the N64 rom hack community would make either a Max Payne rom hack out of Perfect Dark.

I'm gonna say it. I like every single game in the max Payne series. Even the 3rd one which Im say that the 3rd game is one of the best.

Reminds me of "The Specialists" mod for Half-Life 1. Bullet-time, akimbo weapons, leaping/sliding/somersault/bullet-dodge mechanic, numerous pop-culture references in character models and levels (The Matrix, Face/Off, and others). I need to dig that CD up and reinstall the thing.

The only bad thing about this mod is that you will only feel "half the Payne".

both are my favorite games. MP 2 is by far the best in the series. i lost count how many times i have played it. certainly sounds like a interesting mod. may give it a shot.

Max Payne is so good the gameboy version is even a masterpiece.

They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that has lead to this point. I released my finger from the trigger. And then it was all over. G-man was there in the tram. It wouldn't be over till the man with the case would say so. He'd say the right words and open a green portal.

What this mod needs is to be combined with Brutal Half Life, better weapon/enemy models, better sounds...

remember the dream sequences, I was scared shitless playing those at night :D

Reminds me of how the PS2 version of half life had a slow mo cheat in the main menu credits option.
