This is our in-depth Mod Guide for the NERF Elite Alpha Trooper. In this video we cover spring replacement, lock removal, AR removal, air seal improvement, and we free up the jam door. We also go over the internal operations and demonstrate ranges. This is definitely my favorite of the Elite blasters that I have modified so far. I feel that the combination of the shorter "barrel" and more efficient plunger system give it a better overall performance than the Retaliator or the Rampage.

Just follow the deconstruction in reverse, it's not rocket science! If you can't do that, take some photos beforehand so you have a reference to rebuild it, simple.

I performed the suggested fixes and the trooper works great! Definately replace that catch spring with some of the extra ones i had from Orange Mod Works. The gun works smoothly! Also as an extra step, I used epoxy glue and some plastic pieces to fill in the gaps on the catch plate to reinforce it for the extra stress. May not be necessary, but I am happy it working great!

Thanks for a comprehensive guide to the insides of the Alpha Trooper, a very comfortable blaster to use but a trifle under-powered in stock form (I am getting around 65fps).

@@zapfume1266 You don't have to, but it helps. A small dab of silicone grease smeared round the O ring has 2 beneficial effects; it helps with the air seal, and it lubricates the movement of the piston. Too much grease could inhibit the movement of the piston, so it really just needs to be a small dab.

Hey there, I did all the mods you mentioned. I also greased it up too when I was done. However, some times when I prime the gun, it fires on its own. Have you ran into anything like this, and if so, Can you think of any modifications to prevent that. If i Slowly prime the gun if it happens, it tends to reduce the misfire.

I found that the catch spring is too weak I suggest replacing it with an Orange Mod Works catch spring,for the Elite Alpha Trooper

So recently my accustrike acid trooper broke it looks just fine but the problem is the priming handle thingy it doesn't click into place and then whenever I shoot the gun the bullets go like 2 ft do you know what the problem is? Update: Nevermind it broke again

I have a question. That air restrictor at 6:13, can I just remove it (only that piece) with pliers? I don't actually have a drill and I want to ask whether it will have any improvements in range just by removing the air restrictor and not the dart post?

my first plunger that i cant remove isnt a perfect seal, this big part that doesnt have the air restrictor, any tips? also its the elite alpha different than the normal alpha on the internals, because i saw someone modding with a much bigger spring that doesnt fit right in mine, i dont know if the interior shits different or if they sent me the wrong spring

tahnk you because my accutrooper came pre primed and it decreased its peformance by a lot and I was so mad I bought a better spring for it and this video help-kinda because man you need to show how to put it back together, thank god I took photos of every step and watched another video or else 40$ down the drain!

I'm new to modding Nerf Guns, and might i say, i am rather intrigued. i have yet to do, at the very most, the penny mod on the Maverick, and i was wondering: are there any mods for the Deploy? possibly one that could keep most other darts from jamming? it's a serious problem with my darts because the only ones that survive the cat in my house are the ones with the suction cups.

What size drill bit (and what type of drill bit) did you use to drill out the air restrictor? I used a 13mm drill bit, which fitted nicely into plunger, but when I drilled it started off OK but then split the plunger. Nerf gun now wrecked, so I'll have to buy another and try again.

Hey griffin mods . My alpha trooper cs-12 bolt sled is broken .. I cant do one hand firing. How can i fix it .. I use glue then it broke again

X karma you can but I’d recommend removing the air restrictor as well because otherwise you won’t be getting the full performance boost from the 5kg spring

Yes, it can work even with a 8.2kg spring, but make sure to replace your catch spring, it should be included with the spring your buying. (If your buying it on workers website)

@ghett cru You will need to upgrade the catch spring, but the catch itself can stay stock, for longer life, I recommend a metal cast catch spring. Hope I could help!

Maybe try taking out the catch and putting it back in tightly. If u can’t do that, try watching a tutorial on how to fix it.

@@evansmine8 i didnt remove the ar, but i removed the jam door and added a 5kg spring. Gun now only goes back halfway and cant be primed, tried redoing like 20 times, and nothin. Whats wrong?

Seems like drilling out the AR is the only part you could properly balls up. I've never modded before, so how risky is it? There are a bunch of people saying that they split their plunger tube trying it.

The Worker kits come with a rubber gasket/plunger rod pad, I'd get one of those, because they give you a new beefier catch spring, new and thicker o-ring for the breech and the rubber gasket as well as the upgrade spring (5Kg).

Toshie You want to also replace the catch spring or else the blaster can shoot without you pulling the trigger when it is put under the pressure of a stronger Spring :)

Did you fill in the space on the plunger head? It's cos your plunger can't get all the way to the catch to lock. Same thing happened to mine. Try this out by filling it with hot glue but not too much say half of it. Otherwise you won't be able to fit any mags in. Worked for me

The alpha trooper is my favourite nerf gun and this means a lot to me. Thanks so much! I have one problem, whenever I shoot, the screws come loose and the blaster kinda separate s maybe due to the power. Anyway to sort this? Edit: Do you have to use the grease?

NEED HELP!!! So I tried opening up my nerf blaster to take out a part to try something out. Didn't work, so i put it back in (the piece had to do with the magazine and the access door). When i finally put the blaster all the way back together again, i discovered it would misfire (dart would fire but wouldnt leave the barrel) every couple a shots. anyone know how i could fix this? It's an elite alpha trooper.

No wd40 will slowly eat away at the o ring and plastic I recommend orange mod works silicone grease

5Kg would be for easy priming, but a 7Kg is good for performance, I use an 8.2 kg spring in my alpha trooper, it’s a bit hard to prime, but I’m getting 100ft+ ranges.

If you want to re-grease it up again try some Vaseline or chapstick that will work decently (I recommend chapstick because there is no drying compound in it but I'm not sure about Vaseline...)

Probably an issue with your catch and/or catch spring being too weak. add another catch spring, that should help.

You mean the lock? The dart tooth lock isn't needed, it's just helpful. As long as you don't try to prime when the blaster is already loaded and primed, it shouldn't do anything. If it's your actual bolt sled that is broken, then your kinda screwed, unless you have the pieces that broke off. You might be able to use some super glue or bondo putty to fix it, though it would require a lot of time getting it to be functional again...

You shouldn't dry fire a blaster once you removed the AR and put in a new spring and no plunger padding. You can break the blaster that way.

The slam fire bar is probably behind the boltsled causing you to not be able to prime it, moving this piece infront of it should fix it

Unless you live in the UK. I just bought one new from my local Argos for £20. They're not even new in, Argos has had them for years. Course, you'd have to pay international shipping costs if you wanted to import one to the US, so you'd still be paying ridiculous prices.

If you are asking if you can still use the slamfire function after this mod, then the answer is yes. As long as you put the slamfire bar back in place (it's the rod over the trigger).

If you removed the huge lock that slips over the bolt sled (seen at 5:50) you shouldn't have any problems with the jam door, if you left it in, you most likely put it back in wrong, blocking the jam door, and the bolt sled is getting caught on it somehow. If you haven't yet, remove that lock. Also there is another lock that could be getting caught due to bad assembly, seen at 3:55 that could also be the problem. Neither of these are needed, and taking them out should do no harm so long as you leave the surrounding areas in tact.

CaptainDude So you are stuck in permanent slamfire mode? Does it fire in the forward prime position? Or is slam fire activating half primed (when the priming handle is all the way back)?
