Thank you for the great effort! I thought for a long time whether to buy the Argon 8 or the Hydrasynth. After listening to your preset videos (and other Argon 8 sound videos ...), the Hydrasynth prevailed for me. Compared to this, the Argon always sounds kind of "lo-fi" to me.
I think they are not that comparable (to begin with their prices). The Argon is a very bright/clear sounding synth, sounds very "wavetable" (it is...), maybe like some waldorf synths. The Hydrasynth seems to be more close to the analog spirit, with a rich sound. So i think they can be complementary.
Thank you for doing this, thinking about buying an Argon 8M, can you answer a question please? Is this a preset that is in this demo / review at 3.24 of the video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YtvEBfhMoOg.html
Hi. Thank's for your comment. The preset you are asking for seems to be a modified one, maybe one of the factory presets but with a lot of stereo delay, maybe reverb two, and then distortion. Anyway, this kind of sound is pretty easy to get on the argon, as the three possible fx are realy good for a synth like this (okay, the reverb is not one of the best you can get, but it's enough to get something more than just flat).
