I do want to say, I said the K599 was rattly in the beginning of the video, and obviously it is not, I meant to say the stabs are wobbly and don't feel the best. That being said that specific board has the best stabs of all the redragon boards, so do keep that in mind throughout the video. :)

@Consumer Tech Review quick question I am going to try all of this but does simply buying new stabs and replacing old ones without lubing/tape modding help? or is it just the same?

@@Lukester1212 It will be the same. You need to lube/mod you stabs to get rid of rattle.

Hey, I got these stabilizers upon finding your video and I was getting good sound and stability. However The "shift keys" dont work correctly with these stabilizers or something. I noticed that while doing sound and performance test it would get stuck. It was sticky is the feeling I guess you could describe this as. If you can help me or something it would be much appreciated. By the way I did this on the Redragon k530 and did holee mod. I have the stock brown switches but odly enough other than the "shift keys" everyother stabilizer works amazingly! It sounds perfect so thanks for the recommendation! You got me hooked on your videos so keep up the good work! If you can respond to me or something that would be of great help maybe you could try it on your end so you can get an idea.

2:23 > 6:03 - Brilliant explanations of how to do the holee mod and the other ?two? mods, actually walks through the details of what he's doing, others just kinda vaguely show it and describe it, was left with very little confusion or questions. 6:14 Good before and after can very clearly hear it, also demonstrating it on good and budget boards is something I wish everyone did.

perfect, i tried putting dielectric grease also on films which I put under these stabs, and it was sticky, so I removed grease. but just having those nice specially made films on PCB under these stabs is a must; together with mod you showed in this video

My keyboard is the Punkston th61 mini with black switches. It's only a $44 keyboard but if you do a few at home mods like lube and what I call the glue mod where you basically fill the bottom half of the case with glue it gets rid of the hollow sound really well. And then I put a homemade rubber dampener on top of that to help even more. Then I lube the stabilizers and switches and it's good to go. But just stock it sounds really good for $40!

Instead of glue just use Kilmat. It’s a better result and obscenely easy to use.

Image 4 on Amazon says they are not compatible with RK, do you have to mod them to fit? I have a RK84.

I would personally recommend the Durocks, NK plate mounts, or Owlabs stabs, they’re more reliable and take less effort to get tuned.

I would say NK plate mount stabs are really freaking good too, for around the same price as these.

Could you maybe take a look at the QK 65 from qwertykeys? It's quite a bit more expensive than e.g. the akko 3068b but from what I heard it has a great value too...

i used this stabilizers for my rk 84 at first when i got it, it ticks and its bad but i forgot that you have to mod and put lubes on it and its actually super tight i did a hole mod its so good now. now im getting a new keyboard its the next time 75 percent and i dont know if this stabs work for that...

Not 100% sure, but these stabilizers looks to be rebranded Everglide Plate Mounts (their V3 version), if you find those plate mounts.

How would you compare these to Durock’s Plate Mount stabs?? Because if they are inferior, or even just as equal, then wouldn’t it make sense to get Durocks, as they are cheaper. Could you maybe do a comparison video? I thought the purpose of a budget board was to use budget parts? As these are on the costlier end for stabilizers, it just doesn’t make sense to me. A $10 difference, when compared to Durock’s Plate Mount stabs, could be used elsewhere in the build, IMO. I guess it’s all up to where the builder wants to put their money into the board… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Regardless of the price of stabilizers, if you cannot tune them well enough they will all sound and feel bad.

Most of the time when I holee mod I lube the wire with krytox 205g0, EXCEPT with these stabs. I found that dielectric grease works better on these. Just my experience! :)

You don’t have to do hollee mod all the time, im make your stabs sound dampened, just balance the wires real good

Personally 20$ is a lot for kb stabs like that's as much as 90 akko cs switches, I'll just go for durock platemount I can buy it for only 7$ in my country

Not hating, but if you are gonna holee mod the stabilizer and use dielectric grease, then this stabs is not worth it. You can mod the stock stab with the same mod, and you can achieve a pretty same result. The only thing i would add is just bandaid mod and cut the feet of your stock stab.

Imo TX stablizer is the best plate mount stablizer atm since it only need lubing to feels and sound nice. Although it comes with higher price and limited stock.

I may be a keyboard modding noob, but, I know way too much about adhesives. IMHO, YOU SHOULD NOT BE USING MEDICAL TAPE / BAND-AIDS, if you care about the long term... Anything I build I like to 'future proof' as much as possible, there is no way of knowing how long the adhesive used by your random manufacturer will last. They are not designed for long term use (Think 2 year old cheap masking tape).There are a couple alternatives. "Archival Self-Adhesive Linen Hinging Tape" & "Archival Self-Adhesive Linen Hinging Tissue" (I am partial to the Lineco brand, no affiliation, just like 'em). The intended purpose of these tapes are for matting / framing of Artworks and Photographs, and the adhesive will last for well over a hundred years. The 'tape' is about the same thickness of a band-aid, and if you want something thin, the 'tissue' makes a cheap kleenex look thick. (Be sure to get the 'self adhesive', they also sell 'gummed', that needs to be wet, like an old school stamp, brilliant in certain situations, but would be disastrous here). I'm not sure how the lubes effects the adhesive in the long run, but, I really think it would be a better starting place. (if any of that came off as condescending, or Karren-ish, I apologize, that was not the intent. I'm less than $400usd into this hobby, and think I may be at my endgame keyboard, thanks to you.)

@@mArmelade_69 take it with a grain of salt I read that on Reddit and maybe I didn’t put enough 205g0 on my wire but I’ve had to relube them. It does eliminate 100% of the ticking though without any holee mod
