Keyboards do have sound inconsistencies across the board though, it’s a basic fact that he overlooked.

@@Jdjdjrb That is very true. But I think there are some board that have a more significant inconsistency. Most board will sound different just due to the keycaps profile. But I think what Brandon meant was a difference in the same row, from left to right. At least that is what I heard and understood.

Weight distribution isn't a hard concept to grasp.

I don't see a problem in pointing out the potential for movement. But I do see a problem when he said "when you type like that". Who ACTUALLY types like that? I could imagine someone hammering the number row when angry, but that's not how you type normally. Generally speaking people just don't type with such force. I believe a lot of keyboards will tilt like that if you do it intentionally and exert enough force, and 60/65% boards are going to be more prone to that tilt simply due to their lighter weight. I mean in the sound test, he TYPED in the top row as well and the keyboard didn't move. I think it's just over-compensating for "I need to say something bad about this keyboard to avoid sounding like a shill". I think he shouldn't have said "when you type like that"; instead, he should have just said "if you push hard enough, it does this, but it shouldn't be a problem because you wouldn't be doing this when typing normally".

Proto, most likely, and mode looks at literally EVERY one of their reviews and irons out as many pointed out issues as they can from what I’ve seen, heard, and experienced.

I thought the same. The sound test sounded very uniform and the use of the top row in the sound test didn't result in any issues with the feet until you unnaturally press down and forward on it. Weird points to make, honestly.

Personally I liked his critique about the separate foam. The tilting is very relevant for heavy typists and gamers. I dont see how inconsistent sound is irrelevant, thats why we buy these boards in the first place.

​@@AT-vj2mz @AT-vj2mz separate foam is because it doesn't need the foam and no one wants to pay for foam if they aren't going to use it, tilting is irrelevant because heavy typists do not literally only put pressure on the top, if you mean tilting of the corners, again no one is putting enough pressure in normal cases (even heavy typists) to actually cause it to tilt as far as he's shown, inconsistent sound? Every single key in a keyboard will sound different because of its position in the case, we don't buy these boards to have a keyboard that sounds the same on every key

There is no better keyboard than the 60HE when it comes to gaming, but it loses in sound, feel, looks etc. That's where custom keyboards shine.

Envoy is actually decent w minimal foam

Stabs are always extra for better kits because people tend to have different stabs they prefer, foam isn't required and a lot of people wouldn't want to pay for foam they aren't going to use hence why it's extra - it punches far above it's price and well above the zoom and qk

The QK65 and Zoom65 are horrible sounding boards that rely on tons of foam to cover up that thin, dead and muted sound. The target audience is different. Those boards are for people who love foam, the Envoy is meant to sound good with no foam. Stabs aren’t the end of the world

tilting is an unrealistic example, and there isn't any sound inconsistencies literally every single keyboard sounds like that unless you've foamed up the keyboard so all of the keys sound the same, even then they're still different.

realistically youre never gonna be able to tilt the keyboard you can see he's actually pushing on the keyboard quite a good amount which, unless you're the hulk, isn't gonna impact you at all
