Thanks for the information on maintaining the Model 10 clipper. I just bought one today and I haven't used it yet. It was great to find this video on maintenance while my clipper is still new. I feel well prepared to maintain my clipper from now on. Thanks again and God bless.
Thanks for the info. My model 10 heats up as well. Within 10 mins of using it, even with a freshly oiled blade, the blades become too hot to touch and the base becomes hot enough to cause me concern. I always take a break to let it cool down, for fear of damaging it.
Great vid dude! My set will be coming in in the next couple of days. Question for you. Would you advise I disassemble them when it arrives and check that it was properly greased before I start using them? Maybe do some pre-use prepping on them so-to-speak.
Thank you for this very informative video!! I just got a model 10 and the instructions weren't very clear as far as maintenance goes. I want to take care of it properly and this video tells me everything I wanted to know!
My clipper cuts on and off I replaced the cord but I’m not sure if it’s done correctly I move the cord on bottom and turns on and if I move other way it shuts off should I remove and try putting it back on?
Hey. I have the model 10 and it seems to loose power then it picks back up. I'm was wondering what's the problem because it's a new clipper that has been used no more than 5 times so maintenance shouldn't be an issue
Try putting a few drops of oil in the two silver oil spots Push down on them with your fingernail while it is running and then drop oil on the opening. It may have dried out.
+Luis Lourenco sounds like the brushes were not positioned correctly. The curve at the end of the brush should match the curve of the housing. Hope that helps...
Hello I took my model 10s apart to clean and grease as your video stated. I put them back together and there’s a clicking noise and the plastic part moves blade back and forth isn’t moving. Any suggestions?
My Model10 had been running slow and cutting off. I found this video when I first bought it. After getting the brushes this was a easy step by step maintenance plan. fix. My Model10s are purring again! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the Info I inherited my dads old model 10 from his barbering days it had been sitting by his koken chair since he had passed no maintenance guide and i need a covid trim
Great video! I'm pickin up an old progenic from ebay and a set of new brushes from the 50s,is the maintance about the same and will the hinge on the progenic accept the new oster blades and newer brushes.Thxs again great stuff here.
The blades will not fit right, they will be loose. You can replace the hinge assembly with the new hinge assembly and then all the new blades will fit.
For Home Use (non-pro), one person/one cut, 2 times weekly: (1) How often for Oiling the Ball-Bearing Oil Ports (2) How often for Greasing Mechanism Behind Face-Plate? Thanks!
The lever "That's what moves the moving blade" never stops in the same place. If it is not properly lined up with the slot of the moving blade you may round out the lever. If that happens your blades will have a slight wobble which causes that to pull hair.
