Might be worth sending your vid to Tesla. They're always altering and enhancing parts and production. Much of which is based on end user feedback.

I’m having the same noise and it was driving me nuts! The best thing about the “budget” model 3 is there’s a larger community to troubleshoot and diagnose and share their knowledge and findings. Thank you so much for this video I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the video. Mine does the same. But kinda pathetic that this is a common issue on a $50+k vehicle.

You'd be surprised. I've been in some very expensive rattly vehicles. The worst was a Lexus SC430.

You're awesome man. Thanks for doing these. I love my Model 3 more than any other car but the rattles are just insane. I decided to start tackling them otherwise my blood pressure will sky rocket! haha. PS, do you have a master list of rattles that you've fixed and the solution to them?

2 things often if know material of both you can search up on bolt size the max torque but also tesla probably have a lower torque that they recommend

Thank you so much for this. Tesla literally couldn’t figure it out after 2-3 service appointments so they just insulated one pillar to reduce the noise. Still here it from time to time. They only insulated the driver side so now I’ve been hearing it on the passenger side and couldn’t recreate it at service for them to fix. Sounds like a creaking rocking chair.

I absolutely can not get the clips to reinstall the same way. The top two refuse to go in and seem to have a terrible angle
@davidbennett7374
@davidbennett7374 13 дней назад
You have to push up and bend the upper tabs with your thumbs to align them with the slots they go into. Learned that from the mobile Tesla tech who fixed mine when I couldn't get it back on completely. I had also crushed one of the lower plastic pins.
@U_Lambda

Thank you for this tutorial. In my case, I am not able to install back the upper plastic cover. I am not able to push the upper part in and there is a gap on top . Like on your video at 9:23. There are two pins on top that I am not able to push in. Should I push them in first ? Mine is Model 3.

I also can't get the panel back in place at the top. It feels like the interconnect between the sliders on the panel and car aren't aligned properly and therefore the top of the panel won't seat all the way in. Very frustrating. I'm having a Tesla service person coming by tomorrow to fix it. Hopefully they'll do it under warrantee since I took the panel off because of a defect.
@baddrivers4146

My guess is that the service center tightens the torx until it is tight. I'd bet anything that not a single tech would bother to check torque.

This is super helpful! It would be great to see more DIY rattle fixes and how to remove trim pieces. I have a few rattles and Tesla says they’ll start charging $ after 12,000 miles or 1 year. I’m sure a lot of owners would appreciate it 👍

@@EveryAmp Your vids are the best. Your guide to removing the door panels gave me the confidence to remove mine. I wound up taking off all 4 panels and felt taping down anything that could potentially rattle. I used tone generator to try and track down rattles. I also removed my back seat and felt taped anything below the seat that could rattle: connectors, wires, etc. My car now feels and sounds much more "solid" than before. Everything I've done has helped to some degree. I'm having the shelf behind the back seats replaced in a few weeks. Whatever is below the fabric is not glued down well. It's hoping it's the source of some sounds on hard hits like expansion joints. As a suggestion would like to see how to remove the headliners above the sun visor over the driver window. I have a slight buzz that comes and goes behind those areas.

Super nice tuto. Did you do passenger side too? But wait, Model 3 warranty is DIY now ? 😞
@EveryAmp
@EveryAmp 5 лет назад
I had mobile service replace the adjuster under warranty once, but the new part just had the same issue. Haven't noticed the need on the passenger side, but I will if it needs it. The only car I've ever had that was 100% rattle-free was a Lexus and I attribute a lot of that to the cushy suspension. It's really difficult to have a rattle-free car with a sporty suspension.

There is a rattle in the rear seats and I have gone to the SC 3 times. But they still havent been able to fix it yet... Could you possibly do a video of rear seat disassemble?
@EveryAmp
@EveryAmp 5 лет назад
I've had a rear seat rattle off and on too, but haven't been able to nail it down yet. I think it's coming from the latch. My current solution has helped a lot, but not 100%. Try taking a small towel and folding it several times until it is around an inch thick. Fold down the seat a bit and put the towel between the seat and back deck near the latch. Let me know if that helps yours.

If a $40,000 car needs a rattle fix right out of factory, then maybe it’s not worth buying...

You have to push up and bend the upper tabs with your thumbs to align them with the slots they go into.
