wax doctor, was an underrated drum and bass icon, wtf happened to him? did goldie just discard him after his success at metalheadz or what? he was a legend and his track, logical progression was the bomb. i hope he makes a comeback
@MetalGear4Life: I think he still made some tunes under other aliases after Headz. Cant remember what years he was playing with Reece as Jazz Juice (his best collab project IMO), and Fallen Angels (which had 1 good tune, and the rest were weak and nothing like his sound). Think he had some GLO stuff aswell. He's been around for TIME though, he shouldn't make a comeback IMO, look what happened to everyone else who made really nice, deep DnB & Jungle like Dillinja, Lemon D, Digital, Photek etc, they all survived but they all started making shit tunes IMO. Same thing happened to Wax Doctor while he was in Fallen Angels... 97 marked the end of the real sound for me.
thanks for the info, music today i agree is shit, but it's a case of knowing where to look for the good stuff, old school never died but was simply buried. yeah dillnja went shit and photek lost his roots but yeah i thought biophonic by alex reece and wax doctor was good, not great or rememberable but good, thanks for the info again friend, sorry for the late reply i just had to update my gmail is all pal, i did used to try to recreate the old style on soundcloud and i could link it if you are interested
Biophonic Sounds cool mate, I'll check your sounds if you've got some uploaded, I'm always looking for some good Jungle. I do a lot of production aswel. Jungle is one of my main styles (staying true to the old values), aswel as Dub/Reggae, Garage, and my #1 main style which is kinda influenced by all of the above. I don't know what genre to call that stuff so I just call it "slow n heady" lol. A few people say its like spacey/trippy grime instrumentals, but I'm not into grime at all... I just love deep, mystical pads, pure sub bass and heavy, tricky beats. Anything with those 3 things is probably right up my street!
Biophonic I love Wax Doc for tracks like "The Step", "Heat" on R&S and i have to agree that jazz juice releases, especially self titled one is just sick.... it's odd how he remains like not as popular as other people from that time... But also some of his new stuff, tho not being like classic jungle with his crazy apache work (i don't think anone else handled this break like him) aren't that bad! check this: watch?v=wFY8E2TyIDw 2000 is like crazily new tho it's still some deep stuff i think.
Biophonic Hey i'd like to check out your stuff too if i could ;) here's some of my shit. app.box.com/s/8xnz9vxcuuge3erxyjy3 it's not even goodd i guess but at least i try to make jungle in 2014, i don't think it is COMPLETELY dead right now... there are still people listening to it. share your tunes mate, it's so hard to find good dnb today
1337 Bu11 I Just Checked the track out, and its actually good pal, that mistone track is actually a good tune, anyway here's a couple tracks i did, if you want to check them out soundcloud.com/biophonic-2000/new-life-equinox-original-mix soundcloud.com/biophonic-2000/the-underground
