Hello everyone! In today's video, you will accompany me on a decorated model home tour! Together, we will gather home decor inspiration and decorating ideas that are aesthetically pleasing in both luxury and affordable price points.
As some of you may know, one of my absolute favorite pastimes is to tour model homes on the weekends. It’s such a great way to source home decor inspiration and ideas that we can ultimately recreate and execute in our own spaces. If you’ve followed me for some time, you’ll know I love to source my home decor accessories more affordably-I enjoy thrifting, antiquing, and scouring the second-hand apps like Offerup and Facebook Marketplace for unique and eclectic finds. But I do like to like to pop into model homes from time to time just to see which designer trends are being embraced! So come explore with me and let’s see what this luxury model home has in store for us today!
The model home we're touring was professionally decorated in a Contemporary Modern Farm House style and was comprised of home decor accents from HomeGoods, HomeSense, Wayfair, Restoration Hardware, West Elm, CB2, Crate & Barrel, and Target (amongst others).

Good morning. The fireplace & counter tops great. I do believe designers Are showing more non white kitchens. Good windows. As always I like the light fixtures. Ceiling treatment in master swoon. It may just be a personal moment but enough shiplap. I’m huge fan of matt stone. For me this model had too much display opportunities I felt a bit overwhelmed. But Beau I’d so do house shopping with you anytime!!

You are so right, Janice! They’re getting much more creative with the selection of cabinets/stone. I was surprised to see the mixed surfaces here...matte black leathered marble island, white marble countertops/backsplash, grey cabinets...it did look beautiful though! Now to your point I agree, I thought there was too many sub-styles incorporated into the home but I consulted with a friend in the industry and from what I was told, if the designers can’t bring the vision they set out to create to life in 48 hours with the items they can source nearby...they’ll make do with what’s available (hence the inclusion of the random beachy items) but still very cool to see such a palatial space. I’m glad you enjoyed the tour, my friend!

@@beaualexander7000 we had this conversation last night. Everyone in my house is visual ugh! Sadly not everyone can visualize or entertain a pop of color or mixed patterns. I go all over in style choices depending on the architecture. Lately instead of farmhouse I’ve preferred Patina Farm California vibe. Sometimes I feel art needs to breathe to get the full impact. The master bath boom it’s a statement, put a great plant or random sculpture done. I would have cut 50% of display. But that me loving rocks, coral, glass.

What a great idea to show us a model home. This would be such a unique series. I've never seen anyone showing model homes. And maybe show a variety of styles in different homes. Yes please!!!!! More videos like this ❤💚💜💙💛

Thanks for the fun tour! Can you love and hate something all at the same time? Erratic style choices left me feeling ambivalent. Loved many of the pieces and finishes but not necessarily the way the designers had them placed together in this home. You always leave us inspired to think more about design and different ways to look at things!

I feel as the bones were solid enough for any buyer. Loved light & windows. Loved flooring & counters. I honestly didn’t feel the vibe and could have done with less diverse table top, shelving & shiplap. Not everyone can imagine what they would do with a space empty. I prefer a blank canvas. Currently I’m feeling many designers are using same color palate and design elements. I love Beau because he has an appreciation and editing eye.

@@beaualexander7000 right now there’s so much sameness. Same colors same tones same kitchens. I look to Europe. If you look at English kitchens they seem timeless. Curated & collected, not trends that change with a season of hgtv. I fell for Beau because a true vision of owning a style. A knowledge of design, a love of Art Deco classic & true hunted & treasured.

Now, this type of Modern Farmhouse was executed very well by the designers. But like you said, they probably poured a lot of money into the design. It's so great to go through model homes like this one to get inspired to decorate your own home by duping the look for a lot less. Great tour, Beau!!!

Hi Beau! I was excited to see this one, but I have to say that overall I didn't care for the model home..... but I enjoyed certain elements like the marble shower and the chevron floor in the laundry room. It is always just personal preference, isn't it? I loved you narration and the way you pointed out the differnt elements in the home. You really are the best!!! Have a great weekend!!

Agree. I felt it left me a bit overwhelmed. Over Accessorized and too much of what we’ve been seeing. I did enjoy basic flooring, fixtures, I think I’d enjoy seeing it empty.

This is a beautiful model home. I loved the design esthetic and the feel of openess with the clean lines and neutral color palette. Also the laundry room got my attention with the chevron design of the flooring. I am loving the layout of this gorgeous model home, Beau! Open, without feeling like a single room with no designated spaces - the perfect blend of old and new, in my opinion. You are my son! Sqqquueee! We love visiting model homes too. 😂😍 This one was gorgeous. The sherpa chairs looked so cozy. Is gold making a comeback? I am seeing more of it in videos. I'm not sure how I feel about basements. Sometimes I wish we had them because of the real estate but then it's just another area to clean. 🙄😁 Great video. As always thanks for taking us with you. ❤🤗

It’s one of THE best times, Lynne! So many have popped up in the area and they’re all little 2-3 million dollar McMansions (a boy can dream!!!) I’m with you on the Sherpa chairs. I’m not too sure about the longevity of gold, I think it is somewhat fleeting and makes a resurgence every now and again and is interchanged with brass/oil slick bronze every few years. Also, YES on the basement being a dust bucket...I want one one day but like, when is enough space enough 😆

I think all the mansions here are established old money and the mil dollar homes are just houses with the right zipcode. We do get excited over homes with elevators. 🙄😂 Do you think houses are staged differently by price or zipcode, both? They are beautiful to see. ❤

@@lynnepalmer854 I would definitely say a combination of both, I also think it’s dependent upon the builder themselves! There are some who are more generic and others who are a little more cutting edge in their approach (at least from what I’ve seen) 😆

I love the way the designer created the decor. Outside of the deep sinks in some homes, I would not consider myself a fan of farmhouse design. But, this video changed my mind...at least with this home. Beau, thank you for creating and posting this video.

Thank you for another beautiful tour! My favorite was that round bookshelf. I see some people denigrating farmhouse decor so it's nice to see it shown in such a sophisticated way. This goes to show that every style can be sophisticated. While farmhouse is not my personal style, I greatly appreciated this home. I wish people stop knocking styles just because they don't know what to do with them and just say I don't know because I'm not a designer. Studio McGee has some farmhouse elements and I see RU-vidrs who go crazy for Studio McGee knocking farmhouse. It makes no sense. Thanks again for this!

Thank you for this compliment my friend! I, too, don’t immediately gravitate to or resonate strongly with the modern farmhouse decor aesthetic. But as you’ve said, I definitely appreciate seeing what others do with the style behind closed doors! My biggest takeaway from this mode was composition - I loved the inclusion of various marble surfaces in the kitchen, the entryway wall sconces, the chevron patterned floor in the laundry room and the marble tiled master bathroom! Sometimes that’s all it is, just a nibble of information or design technique that makes us say, “ahhh! I like that!” So thank you for keeping an open mind 🤍 I appreciate you!

You taught me so much today. I will save this video to refer back to. My least favorite was the basement. The best, I can't pick because I loved the bedrooms. The big oblong square bath tub in the master bathroom is just delicious. And you, my new friend, your narration thought out the video is pleasant tone and enormous knowledge. Well done, I'm very impressed. 💞

WOW. Such a beautiful house!!! My favorite room was probably the kitchen because of the lighting over the center block area. However, I felt like the dining room was missing something. Maybe a food element? Or a suggestion of food or dining? The whole house was quite amazing. They really did a great job of mixing texture and neutrals. The one thing I wished I saw was maybe a modern fireplace. Something to make me want to sit down and meditate. Maybe more plants. BUT... so many DIY ideas and thrift store inspiration from this!! It's easy to find neutral blankets at the second hand stores, and so many cool pillows at Home Sense to copy some of this. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome video!!!

I have to say, I'm surprised at how stylish this model home is. I've started looking into houses here in SF and the furniture they'd stage with generally look like they're from the 90s lol.

They definitely have extreme budgets! This model was designed by a national builder and from what I hear they get anywhere from $100-250k+ 😱 if only I had that, too!

❤🥂❤🥂❤🥂 Happy Valentines Day Beau, Thank You for the walk thru in this Model Home, my old girlfriend & I use to do this & say to ourselves, "this the way Id liked my closest, batheoom or kitchen layout"😉 While walking thru this home I was already 😄😉 redecorating in my mind, since I dont like clutter or those Moss ball arrangements ; ) Lots of space in that home & always imagine placing my furniture in each room.
