I get randomly asked to be in fashion shows in malls and when I’m out grocery shopping. I constantly am asked if I model as well. I modeled in 3 shows, and did a couple of shoots. Just never took it serious. I’m 6’2, pushing 6’3 and I’m in shape, (I played college football)..I just don’t know how to get myself started 🙃
Is there anything that we need to know ?! Things that people don’t talk about ? Assault ? Or requiring “favors” for you to models ? Also how much do they pay ? You also don’t seem too happy is there something you aren’t telling ? Thanks for the tips tho
Is there a market/opportunities for women in their late twenties early thirties, but that look much more younger than their age? I ask out of curiosity and for a friend I have.
I would LOVE to become a model, but i am a little over weight and i have braces, i think i will wait untill i get my braces off and loose a bit of weight before i start applying to modeling agency's.

Ive been reached out by a modeling company a few years ago, but i wasnt sure if it was legit and asked to have my photos taken down, and im being contacted again being told ive got a 96% auditioning score even withmy photos taken down, and im not sure what i think of it
The first agency a model signs with is given the designation as their mother agent, with the ability to place them at different agencies, and get a 10% commission from the other agencies on every job the model books. There are some mother agents who focus entirely on scouting, which is common in smaller cities.
i've been dreaming to become a model since i was little. im 13 and my mom doesn't want me to do it young. she says i can wait til im 18. i want to move to australia or new york when im 18 and watching your videos cure my boredom everyday because i can't start yet.
hey until then, i suggest getting popular on instagram while u wait ! you’d get good experience taking ur own photos and scouters try to recruit ppl with a lot of followers, like 5-10k+
I've been helping my daughter network, get free photos (and pay for her photos), learn about scams, the biz, her type, gettg pd for background/talent work, and public transit in the mkt. I can't imagine waiting til 18 and not knowing what I know/having a start.
Frrr i haven't told my parent that i want to be a Model tho bc i have the feelings they will scream at me but i wanna move to New York when i am 18 to continue to learn and be a Model
Oh my gosh, this video is EVERYTHING I needed to see right now! I'm actually from Richmond, Virginia exactly, so this video LITERALLY hits home for me! This was so helpful, thank you!
How old are you and how tall are you? Do you have clear skin? I got my daughter signed with IMG and I'm a former high fashion model who modeled Paris Haute Couture and Tokyo.
Been wanting to be a model for a while and got scouted by this girl from the taekwondo I go to, learning everything I can about this stuff before I do anything, this has helped a lot. Thank you so much 💕
Hello Bentley, thank for making this video, It was really informative And wanted to request you for a video, like model must haves, sort of,or, what heels and boots models should have, like basic stuff, but are very crucial, Again thank you so much and looking forward to upcoming awesome content , Love you ❤️❤️
ITS MY DREAM to be a runway model i am 17 i am 6feet from india yet i cant seem to find a way into modeling :( and cant seem to get accepted into an agency
Believe it or not, a majority of supermodels have stretchmarks. Naomi Campbell, Josephine Skriver, Jasmine Tookes, Adriana Lima, just to name a few. Almost all women have stretch marks to a degree. We are all human.
Bentley you are literally living my dream but I’m short and will never be a model so watching your videos is the closest I’ll ever get. Anyway I love your content and I’m so proud of you🥰🥰
@@jamilgotcher5456 That's why I'm looking into height increase surgery to be a model. I saved 200K so I can do it twice. Modeling is everything I want in life. If I can't be a model, I can't live.
thanks for the advices, i send my pictures to a lot of agencys ( both national and international ) and no one respond back :/, i´m 18, 5´9 male and i´m trying to get better and hopefully sign with one :)
You're better off signing with a local mother agent than going it on your own. Bentley is an exception and not the rule. A mother agent or modeling industry professional can evaluate you and determine which step is best for you to take next.
Depends on the agency and the brand. Someone’s 125 lbs isn’t gonna get a job for torrid. Someone 300lbs isn’t gonna get a job for some petite brand. Or sometimes it’s down to individual job. If a brand is going a campaign for curvy models and someone 100lbs applies they’re gon get overlooked. Doesn’t mean they’re not a good model they just don’t fit. This goes for your look whether you look sweet or fierce, prim and perfect or relatable, edgy or girly, hair color, unique features etc. ur look only matters job to job never as a whole will u just be rejected as a model unless u really struggle in the talent or professionalism area.
When i was like 1-2 years old my mother was on a walk with my two brothers, my dad, my sister and me. An agent walked up to us and started saying how pretty our family was and wanted to recruit some of us i guess. My mom and dad declined for all of us because they didnt want to give away our childhood. While I respect their decision, I have always wanted to model and ever since hearing that story I have been a bit doubtful for some reason. I guess knowing that I had the chance back then and didnt really have the opportunity to say yes just really upsets me. Anyways, I am 13 now and still have not told anyone about having an interest in modeling. Im not sure how to start or even if this is what I should do but I really want to try it out. Hopefully I will get this opportunity again sometime. I’m really glad I could share this with whoever read it. Thank you!❤
My god, when you said you were upset you "missed out" i thought you'd be in your 30s in a dead-end office job, or something, but you're 13????? Being a model since you were a baby, when you didn't have a choice about it AT ALL, would have definitely give you a very different perspective. You could have ended up hating modeling like most child actors. So starting as a teen, when you have more of an idea of what you want sounds more mentally healthy. I'd say you're at the perfect age to start looking into it.
@@Itzaric Hi! I totally agree with you, I know I would definitely have a different perspective on it by now if I were to have started out that young and I am glad that my parents let us go our own path instead of forcing us into a program that would probably make me miserable to be honest. I guess I just wish that I was old enough to have made the decision for myself. But like I said before, I am very happy to live comfortably without being forced into adulthood at such a young age. :)
This was very helpful, thank you Bentley, could you make a video about questionable modelling contracts? Im signing one soon and just want to know what to look out for when its a scam, love you. :)
Thanks for the video, luckily I have a cousin who has been modeling since she was a young teen that’s going to help me out with everything . I remember I wanted to start doing it when I was younger but I live in a very small country town so I didn’t think I would have a chance plus I’m short
Does anybody know legitimate agencies specifically for commercial or beauty modeling? Because every time I look for modeling agencies they seem to be specifically for high fashion type of models (with height requirements).
I'm not a model but I'm pretty sure it depends on the job... If you are a highly paid model like Gigi Hadid you would probably have a full time job- But i'm not sure...
Hi Bentley, thank you for posting these types of videos. Most of the channels with content about the modeling industry are completely inaccurate and spread disinformation just for views. It is important for people to hear from real models in the industry.
hi I just started following your channel and watching your videos and I appreciate how honest u are in your videos. I love fashion and modeling, hope one day I can become a model too it's something I really believe in! like your videos btw! if u have any advice I'd love and appreciate to know it💙
Hey :) I'm 17 old Indian girl aspiring to be a international model. But my family was hate modeling and not much supporting. can I get an oppurtinity in IMG models without parents consent ? I'm a middle class girl and can't afford much money for even flight ticket though . Is the modeling journey in IMG models is expensive ?
Thank you for sharing your information! I can tell you're really knowledgeable and that's awesome! BTW, I like your t-shirt, a simple yet classic and stylish look.
I am 5'2 I will never have a career as a model cause I live in Italy where petite model are not requested,I literally don't know anybody in fashion world,I am not beatiful to be a beauty model and I have not famous parents,my waist is 66 cm and big legs AND the only thing I can change is MAYBE my body but not my height and this is sucks T_T I will die in my own tears because this is my only dream and my choise is between lose my only dream and be sad for the rest of my life or try it and be sad for the rest of my life. this is a bad day so maybe i am too much negative but tis is probably the truth
Girl... don't despair... you can even try parts modeling. I have a couple of friends who are 5ft to 5ft2 that are hands and feet models for jewelry and shoes catalogues. And usually petite women have delicate and shapely hands and feet.
