you are correct slot cars are alive in NZand have been since the 60s sorta went underground in the late 60sbut many home made tracks were still around like my own then up graded or rebuilt when the hobby took off again in my opinion because the new manufactering made the cars look so realistic Keep up the good work Jimmy a great video

Can you make an episode on how to build your track lighting towers? They look so realistic. Please include how you power the light towers. Thanks so much as your videos are so helpful.

Thanks for your comment John. If you rescue the latest LK video on details part 2 you can get a more detailed look at the light towers. I'll tell the guys to highlight how it goes together for you. Go back and forward our videos to more of your friends because the guys plan to do more in the future.

I have built 4 wood routed tracks but still learnt a lot from these tips. Watching this video is inspiring and has me thinking about getting back into the hobby. I always enjoyed the track building process more than the racing. Thank you 🙏

I say go for it John! Your fifth track will certainly be the best, given your experience. Try the Ac2car system this time and you will get much more racing in a given space. See www.ac2car.org for how to details. And, stay tuned and share this video with others. Thanks for your comments my friend.

I inherited a lot of older (new)1/32 analog Carrera slot cars, dragster parts, plastic model kits etc and new track pcs, I wanted to build a nice track, but will most likely sell it all. But I have to say, your track makes me want to dig my stuff out. Thanks for the tips! Beautiful track!

Thanks for another great video. Lots of great information -the apex discussion was worth (much more than) the price of admission alone! And the banking of corners -I've used superelevation on the sub-base under the turns of my HO sectional track layout and it makes a huge difference. I keep the track flat where I want "hard" corners but it is amazing how a small increase in the height of the outside of the track raises the speed at which de-slotting occurs. Thanks Again!

Hi Guys, thanks for the great content. I'm in the process of planning my track. I would love to make it as intricate as yours, but space dictates otherwise. I have a table 5m x 2.5m (16'5" x 8'2.5") that will be hoisted to the ceiling on 4 cables. I'm very interested in the 1/32 scale specs (ie. lane widths, minimum radii & banking) as well as lane changing. I want to use the Carrera Digital as a basis to build on (for the ability to rum 2+ cars on a two lane track). Is this a mistake? I have taken onboard many comments in this video regarding track specs (ie. lane separation, etc.) and will be redesigning the layout to optimise the space. Thanks.

Great videos. How does the lap counter work for 2 cars in the same lane?

Interested in building a wooden track , been doing research. My question is if I use copper braid is there a specific type of router bit that cuts slot & recess for flush fit braid, or is it 2 different bits?
@jimmyattard1446
@jimmyattard1446 2 года назад
Great question Ken.... The copper tape I used sits right on the track, but copper or steel braid must have a 1/16 deep recess routed into the track. First the 1/8 slot is cut around the track, then a unique bit that follows the slot is used to indent the braid. Stay tuned and share this video with others Ken. Thanks for your comments my friend.

This track is BadA**! I would love to see an explanation on the slot layouts. What is going on with three lanes close to each other and three farther apart from each other. I'm not grasping the intention of the design. Thanks
@jimmyattard1446
@jimmyattard1446 Год назад
Jim go see the two intro videos the guys did at the Lunch King You Tube channel. There I explain the. Fact that each cat has two slots of its own. One on the outside and another on the inside of the roadway. One switchig area is at the hairpin turn that allows your car to stay in one of your two slots or switch into the other. If you haven't subscribed to Lunch King please do. Please go back and if you enjoy the track and racing video, forward it to your friends and family.

Thanks for your kind comments Earl. Because 99% of everything on and under TBE track was scratch built by me, and the fact that I've been collecting scrap materials for it the past 40 years makes me believe that it only took about $300 to build the track. Please go back and forward our videos to your friends. Thanks again my friend!
