Excellent update, thank you. Really looking forward to seeing this at Doncaster. Something I’ve considering for my own fiddle yard is Peco’s HOm code 75 12mm track system as although the scale isn’t correct the gauge fits and it has a fuller range of points & crossovers. Obviously the transition will need to be made between the code 55 & the 75, but it can’t be impossible can it?
Fantastic idea! I’ve tinkered with this a few times and will probably end up using foam. I’d be very interested to know how point motors are positioned and held securely.
We've used surface mounted DCC motors from Rails of Sheffield ensuring that they sit on the same thin ply layer as the turnout - next video should show.
TT OR NOT TT - THAT IS THE QUESTION !!!! Shouldn't really be called TT ! As TT is 1:100 scale or 3mm to 1ft. And the scale used here is Continental 1:120, somewhat smaller at about 2.5mm to 1ft. In other words its Hornby trying to bury the Professional modelling scale "3mm Association"!
@@stormbowman7148 So quite obviously you haven't noticed that all TT in Britain since Tri-ang introduced the scale in 1957, is made to 3mm to the foot (1:100) scale. And of course there are numerous 1:100 TT Exhibition Layouts on the exhibition circuit & featured in various Modelling magazines, including the "3mm Societies" rag, or maybe you haven't noticed !!! Considering Hornby have been bankrupt a number of times, due to bad Boardroom Decisions. Maybe this one will be their final downfall, because I don't think Barclays will bail them out again !!!!
@@railwaymechanicalengineer4587 Britian is not the world. You are disregarding that the TT scale (1:120) was invented in the U.S. in 1945. That scale spread to the rest of the world. That is the scale that Hornby is going for now. The Triang "TT-scale" is not "true" TT, it is a bastard scale, just like 00 (which is, luckily, not referred to as H0 or British H0). 00 has next to no following outside the UK. Hornby can now sell to an entirely new audience that run "true" TT (1:120) everywhere in the world, instead of only sell it in Britain to the few people that still hangs on to the old Triang TT.
How can you call yourself a modeler and ignore the fact that Tri-Ang models are not to scale. The tracks are on a scale of 1:120 and the models are 1:100??? This also applies to another British scale, 00.
