@@sirius2009 doesn't look like this guy is gonna respond but models have to put a LOT of work in to start in the industry and retain their status. along with the obvious like the extreme diet and exercise, when starting out as a model you will have to do tons and tons of jobs for very little pay and will often have no choice when it comes to doing uncomfortable work like nude shoots. that is along with the heavy abuse and ridicule in the industry and the assault many models are victims of because most modeling agencies are very predatory. it is a very challenging job and very hard to get into in the first place.
Was it only me who at first started interpreting the numbers as age? lol. That's what happens when you don't finish reading, lol. 😂 I'm like ,woah these models look good to be only 65 or 89 lol 😂
Kinda sad for models these days within the industry. Of course, a lot of talents still go successful, but so do a lot of nepobabies, social media influencers or tv reality stars with celebrity or rich parents. They seem like lovely girls, but Kendall Jenner, the Hadids and even Cindy Crawford's daughter does not have the same modelling skills as their former generation. I also miss having models grace the covers of fashion magazines.
😂 She worked so hard to win the genetic birth lottery. Get outta here with that work hard nonsense. She's not the reason you have clean water, electricity, a toilet that flushes and a roof over your head.
@@transatlanticizeAre you old enough to comment on this? The super models were known by the majority of people by their name, GLOBALLY, movie stars etc. were not.
151 vogue covers is so extremely impressive. i remember reading about one of gisele’s early early runway gigs and how the house she was walking for (i don’t recall which one) told her she had to walk without any top on. she’s visibly crying in the pictures, and when asked later, she said she was afraid for her parents to see them, that she feared they would be ashamed of her. absolutely broke my heart bc she’s such an icon and an angel and she deserved far better than that. her hard work and pain definitely paid off, though.
The house was Alexander McQueen Edit: The show had fake rain going down on the models, and her makeup was made in a particular way, so the visibly crying part doesn't make sense to me. It's also the gig that launched her career. Also one of the makeup artists took pity on her and painted her a shirt which did work in making her feel better.
They’ve been around since 1892 (I don’t know what year they each started but I’m assuming there’s been plenty of years for them to rack up). I’m also certain some may have shared a cover/took the cover photo together.
Asian models were never the look western designer's or advertisers wanted back in the day. Happy to see it's all changing now. Models of diverse backgrounds are much in demand today.
They're all beautiful women. Sadly, the modeling world is reportedly very competitive and can be catty - guessing there would be squabbling over who had the most covers... of good magazines, magazines w the widest distribution, high fashion vs commercial, etc. I'd love to hear of them all just cheering eachother on more. There is grace and power in a level of unity too. 👏
c@@MK-oc4gthahaha!!!😅 Zoolander is a very funny movie starring Ben Stiller,he plays the role of a male supermodel, Derek Zoolander, the film is a blast!
@@citizenoftheworld6363 Well not everyone reads Runway. Cyndi Crawford was on MTV so she reached a wider audience and she doesnt look like an alien like Kate Moss and that Giselle girl. Turlington may look like a giraffe, but she was stunning as the other 90's supermodels of the Versace universe.
But Kendall is just a baby supermodel. We'll have to see if she has any staying power. Sadly, she has made more money by far than any of those featured in this video when it comes to just modeling.
@@jeffcarson7422Love her or hate her the girl is stunning. Classic features - wide set eyes, straight nose and oh those cheekbones! I'm envious (joking) 😂
