What is a Modem and What is a Router?
The different functionalities of modems, routers, and gateways can often be confusing.
A modem is required to get a connection to the internet from your home network. It allows access for a single wired device.
A router provides WiFi and allows you to connect more devices on your network.
WIFI connections use wireless routers. This is the device that broadcasts the WI-FI signal from your internet throughout your home or workplace. Put in the center of your houses technology. Not on the other end of your house away from your electronics. The Modem communicates with your internet service providers network.
