I don't know a lot about farming, but I do know that construction contractors rent out equipment as needed. Perhaps farmers rent out some of this stuff rather than going broke buying it.

Another important point to consider is that the automation of such jobs allows the price of the end product for the consumer to be cheaper. So if things become cheaper, it could be that people will simply have to work less.

Nope things don't get cheaper as they saying goes you get what you pay for you. Only? Cheap thing here is the farmer all about putting money in his pocket instead of a quality product on the shelves.

These machines aren’t for our local/typical farmers. This is for industrial growing. With this size of farming, the choice of controls used are out of our control. These growers use every kind of pesticide and remedy to ensure the product flawless.

Machines can never replace the knowledge of human beings. Robots, etc, can only do what they are programmed to do, just like they are trying to program humans, that its ok to be replaced by machines. These huge farms are not owned by your local farmers. Many are owned by the CCP. check out how much farmland is now owned by Bill Gates, and we all know he has our best interest at heart. Since these big machines have taken over the taste of vegetables and fruits like melons, strawberries, etc. has been compromised. I haven't had a decent strawberry in many years. Strawberries are not supposed to be crunchy, but everyone I have had in recent years has been hard and crunchy.
