dude modern cammy is so fun, currently stuck in 1550~ MR and i feel like im always learning with this character. first fighting game ever but Modern cammy’s tools just help you learn the game so quickly.

It’s crazy playing someone who can do combos(Modern) but has no clue of the fundamentals of the game. I don't think you've mentioned Modern Cammy's super cheap auto combo hit confirm yet. Her light auto combo literally hit confirms for you. If the second hit whiffs or gets blocked, the Spiral Arrow won't come out. It's so much fun lol
I picked up modern Cammy recently thanks for the godlike tips! I found that after canon strike on counter hit it’s mad easy to confirm into crouching medium kick and you can drive rush cancel so also a good option. #moderncammywarriors
I think you mean cannon strike.. Also if you have enough frames for a 2mk.. You might as well do a 4mp then drive cancel since it force stands and starts up faster...
update: just hit master rank with modern cammy. the tips that helped me the most are: DI side swap combo Corner to corner combo that *filthy* corner DI loop saving S3 as a threat. Little additional note for the DI side swap combo. it gets you KD+10. This means if you've carried them into the corner, you can mash 2HP on their wakeup and have it link into 5HP on hit. Really good for modern because 2HP5HP is way stronger than the modern patented sad 2HP5LP.

Too add some extra tips. In classic Cammy has a strong Jab pressure with Counter Hit Jab into down Medium punch. The alternative in Modern would be stand assist medium punch into down medium kick. Which you can use your jab pressure then use medium punch for counter hit to fish counter hits with. Also standing Assist medium punch can normally link DP. When i play modern Cammy it is hard to counter hit fish with her jabs because she has no crouch medium punch but these alternatives are at least something.
Modern Cammy is strong but Mondern Kimberly is something else entirely in my opinion. Made diamond rank with Kim effortlessly and I didn't even know her drive rush combos 🤣.
@@johkerx9107 really? Because I play modern players in master rank all the time who can’t do any actual input combos because their damage scales so much when they do them. These modern players are all wakup supers and wakup trash. They don’t win by being good they win by luck. They can’t deal with people who are not going in. They can only play a reactive game. Once you shut them down they are done ✅

I'm sure Capcom is going to nerf modern controls. All they have to do add extra startup frames on all supers so they are in line with classic. The other stuff like DP and fireballs is fine because I'm not really a jumper.
@@snowys4168 Instant supers are just too powerful. Capcom also republishes all their older games almost every year and those game don't have modern controls. that's a great amout of profit they would be giving up, also if you just relying on modern controls you won't be able to play fighting games from other publishers because they use some form of classic controls. you'll just be hurting yourself in the long run. I've been playing since 91. and all that execution and mental stack you build up over years modern takes that away because the moves are instant. I have no problem with people using it, I just think supers should get nerfed with extara start up frames.
@@KillahManjaro Project L will be directional inputs only and GBVR will have no disavantage for using directional inputs instead of motion inputs so games are pretty much starting to get rid of motion inputs lately. He won't have any problems playing those games if he plays only on Modern right now.

I remember I talked to you at EVO in the casino and I was like "Why you give the tech away before EVO man" but nah you're guide actually made me do better at EVO because at the end of the day cammy's a speedster but I needed to calm down and take it slow and stick to my gameplay. and also I downloaded world of tanks smh
It's so easy to land raw modern level 3 against most of the cast that it almost seems wasteful to use it in a combo unless it will kill. You only get 2000 damage for it in a combo, but 3200 if you react to a fireball. (Plus, as you mentioned, you lose the fear of it.)
I've been trying the b.MP into hooligan side swap in practice but I can't land it. Has it been patched and it doesn't work anymore ? Or are there characters on which this will not work or something ? Or is there a trick in the execution of the inputs that I don't quite get ?

I keep practicing, but I can't achieve cannon spike into lvl 3, any tips? My level 3 just keeps whiffing. I'm manually performing the cannon spike with heavy and not using the auto.

Yo started modern cammy and wanna play her in tournaments but how do I frame trap her divekick. Due to not having 2mp 5lk you cant really frame trap with those. I was struggling to frame trap the really far dive kicks yesterday
Played about 20 hours of world tour, decided to learn a character a bit so I went with the master I used most. Looked up this video and... I don't understand shit of what he is saying. I guess this is why it's so hard to learn a fighting game. People who give guides seem to be a bit out of touch with noobies and just throw around a ton of words that you don't understand when new. I'll find an easier more basic guide to grasp the terms at least, and then revisit this some time in the future. It seems usefull, but he speaks chinese to me right now.

My advanced tip for modern control users. 7 years from now when SF6 is finished, those who didn't learn classic in all that time will still be at ground level in their execution and mental stack. You lose it if you don't use it. Instant supers and dp is not the norm in fighting games. Remember, fighting game is a business and Capcom has over 35 years of great fighting games that they republish almost every year. I doubt they will implement modern controls in those games. So not learning classic you'll be depriving yourself of all those great games as well as those other game publishers who also use classic controls. I'm not saying you shouldn't use modern, especially newer plays. Use it to get into the game and have fun, just don't rely on it alone.

As a classic player, more power to ya! I don't mind at all when a M player beats me (well, I mind losing in general but that is on me). The only reason I even check is to decide how obvious I can be with jump ins or throwing fireballs when they have super. Aside from that, it makes no difference to me. A modern player who beat me was simply better than me in that match. I also don't really run into a lot of modern players so I don't see why people act like it's such a huge deal.
If you need to watch a tutorial to help you use modern controls then there is no hope for your future as a person and no hope for the future of your fighting game career. Give up.
