Alot of people think Steel Strings would project more than Gut Strings due to their higher tension & the fact that, yes they're more durable & they last longer. That's not actually true cause you wouldn't believe how much louder Gut Strings are on a Modern Cello because they're thicker. Steel Strings are thinner & they tend to lack in tone until you add more vibrato. D'addario Helicore strings might work better.
I can attest that these are good strings. Much easier to play high notes than other historical strings and my preferred sound. Good volume of sound (2 dB louder than steel when measured) and good response on my modern instrument, while some adjustment is required. Would recommend a strong fingerboard as C string can cut into a soft fingerboard. also verify grooves in nut and bridge are perfect to avoid broken strings.
@UCnXeb1NuNBk0pDIJXSAzeCA Interesting sound, let's hear what it sounds like w/ the F-Reds. A set of F-Reds for Piccolo Violin (Bb, F, C, G Low to High) would be interesting.
Aquila Corde Armoniche Alot of people think Steel Strings project more than Gut Strings (or even so Synthetic Strings) but that's not really true it's actually the other way around because you won't believe how much more tone you get out of Gut Strings.
What guage are each of these strings? I am currently using an Aquilla Corde 120HU A string with Piastro Eudoxa D, G and C on a modern cello setup. But I would like to try an all Aquilla combination.
Thanks for you comm. here are my considerations: this video was done directly while we were testing these particular kind of strings on a modern cello. In other worlds it is not a professional video. But for those that are involved in this job it tell many details; for example what happens when unsplit lamb gut strings are installed on a modern cellos: some of the comm here have well realized that gut strings can be very interesting also on modern cellos and as an alternative to metal strings. This video was not done in order to promote the quality of our product but just in order to share an experiment, based on my researches. Business does not always take the first position (this is my opinion) . best regards Mimmo Peruffo, owner & founder
