I think they made Haley grow closer with her parents through her pregnancy because it was so similar to the situation that happened to her parents when they had her
Gosh even with that upside, I just can’t stand how they dumbed down Dylan. Like what ex ‘nurse’ would possibly say let me hit it from the other side- impossible
Where did she say that?? She just sad about haley's ending being just a mother ,she wanted some career for her just that ,she never said anything that haley should have ended wuth andy
Idk why Dylan gets so much hate. Sure he's an air head but the important thing has always been that he genuinely cares for Hailey and wants nothing but the best for her, ready to support her. And he stepped up to be the father rather than run away. Were she and Andy a good couple? Yes. Because he actually gave her advice and support for it. Would Andy have been a good father ? Yes, no doubt. But the fact that people don't like Dylan just because it's not andy, idk it just feels so silly to me. (This is just my opinion 😅 please don't come after me. You're free to have an opinion as long as it's not disrespectful)
andy aside, haley had a good arc in the 1st few seasons about how dylan was an idiot and while caring, would not push her towards being the person she wanted to be. now seasons later, the show is like “wow look at him, the guy who can’t even do basic math or go to college is now a NURSE”. really forced. and the fans ate it up. people who genuinely thought dylan wouldn’t be able to take care of haley now say “well he’s obviously not that dumb, he’s a nurse” and “he wants to be around” (as if that second point wouldn’t apply to a ton of other men.) and don’t get me started on people who think phil is the same way….. goofy =/= dumb.
"Last time you calculated it out, you left fifty in tip" Yeah, he's a bit dumb. But he's like nineteen? I haven't met a lot of those that'll win the smartest, wisest of the world. Including myself. Give him twenty years and he'll be all right. Or a kid. Sometimes that's a hard rock of reality that slams one ahead. Sometimes not.
I agree that Andy was her best match, but Adam Devine had other engagements. Since we couldn’t have him, I believe Dylan was her next best match. He always cared about her and isn’t the same kid he was in the first few seasons
Definitely. Dylan was kinda of a free spirit the first few seasons, making t-shirts, his band, the dude ranch, spinning signs. Then he gets into nursing and is really dedicated at his job. And even confronts Claire about how she treated him before. Andy is the one that got away who taught Haley the most about love and sacrifice. And Dylan is the heartfelt companion who becomes the right person at the right time later in life.
Their hug at the end is just perfect. Dylan became a great dad in the last season; he truly passed the test when he saw Poppy walking through the hallway by herself and willingly wrecked Claire’s attempt at fooling her interviewer into thinking she was in her office to run upstairs and keep his baby girl from getting hurt. ❤
I stopped watching consistently around season 8 or so, but the ending for Haley makes me really sad. Her and Dylan should've remained in the past. Haley was finding her way and working towards her way up in the fashion industry, and I think it would have been fantastic for Haley to end the series with her focusing on her career and personal growth. Haley ending up in real estate or marketing would have also been a great ending for her.
@@MzNatalieMoon yeah, Andy was perfect, would've been the best endgame, but because the actor had to leave the show they had to change the plot :( Still, I wish they didn't make Haley pregnant because she was really changing for the better and it was amazing to see her mature and work on herself :((
@@MzNatalieMoon Bs, Andy is a cheater he cheated on Beth with Haley, and Dylan was faithful to Haley all he cared about was Haley wrote songs for Haley. Dylan was also Haley's first love, I don't care that Haley told Andy that he's thefirst man she ever loved because true modern family fans know that's BS and that it's Dylan.
@@angelbaby4349 Andy was not perfect Andy was an annoying as hell character he was not funny and I was happy when he left the damn show Dylan was funny and he was not.
@Star they're just cry baby be words who think Andy is more better and funnier than Dylan which is BS, Dylan was always there for Haley, Haley broke Dylan's heart let's not forget not once but twice. Dylan was always about Haley. Yes Dylan eventually got married but then they got divorced the person Dylan really loved and cared about was Haley. Andy cheated on his wife to be with Haley Dylan never had a cheat.
I love Dylan. He always showed he really loved and cared about Haley. Why does everyone hate him? I mean, he doesn't look like the smartest guy, but his career choice shows otherwise...
@@everythingisawesome2903 the hell you talking about not wanting whtats best for haley lol, Heley lieterally became better, more resposible person when she was with Andy. She plucked up the courage to get a job she wanted, and even watned to retire her "Style" since she liked being with Andy. To quote haley as she said to Andy :" I like the the me when im with you'" "you are the first ive ever loved"
Sure Dylan is a himbo and kinda dense but hey, he loves Haley for who she is and supports her in every step of her life. He didn't just run away from the news on his and Haley's baby, he stepped up to the role. His first reaction was that "it's the product of (their) love" instead of "this is a mistake" and he started thinking about the future with marriage and prenatal health. Plus he's a nurse (?) And it's shown that he's great with kids. He's the best choice for Haley
I only discovered modern family just 5 months and have been watching it ever since. I’m disappointed that I discovered an awesome show just only a year after it ended. Every single day I don’t miss an episode. It’s because of this brilliant show that my game station has been off for months.
And also underwhelming: if they had to do the unrealistic, unprofessional announcement they could at least built up a bit more suspense, not just casually throwing it
That’s about how “professional “ it was told to me with my youngest child. Hospital ER experiences are completely different than going to your personal physician. Also it’s a tv show - they can write it however they want for comedic purposes 😂
Started watching this show seriously for the first time 5 months ago and so many things I love about it: 1. Comedy is consistent and not forced like other sitcoms like icarly or Victorious. 2. The show has diversity. The diversity of a usual American family, an interracial couple that have a large age gap, two homosexual couples who have an adopted Asian child. I LOVE IT!!! They didn’t use a black character as a means to show diversity because anytime people try diversity they always use a black person. They only use a black person for diversity because if the black character’s skin stands out, the audience will notice them. They think they are being diverse by using a black character but they ain’t fooling anyone. (And before you guys lose your shit, I’m black myself so calm the fuck down and I am entitled to my point.). 3. The kids are throughout the show are written as actual teens. Most shows I have seen have teens act rebellious for the sake of being rebellious while the teens in this show actually are more than rebellious; they have their own other problems. 4. This is a sitcom and THERE IS NO LAUGH TRACK!!! 😊 No laugh tracks to tell the audience when to laugh, be emotional, or feel sad. We can feel whenever we want on the show.
@@RodrickMarsMoon one is meant for children and one is made for adults. The popular adult one is almost always going to be higher quality in the eye of an adult than a popular kids show because it’s made for them. That’s like comparing Breaking Bad to Dora the Explorer, lol.
I know people like Andy, but I also like Dylan. If you can watch this episode and see how happy and supportive was and still hate him, then I'm sorry but something is wrong with that.
I didn’t have a problem with that. I liked that they kinda broke the cliche of the hot girl falling for the nerdy guy (Andy) and actually made her go for the guy we thought was just a generic dumb bad boy type who actually ended up being a really kind nurse and a good father. I hated Dylan in the beginning but he grows on you at the end, at least for me.
@@everythingdibs344 i grew to like dylan. but haley had a development with andy, it's not the "cliche love story" but on how she grew. Some of the developments went away when she got back with dylan. I get that andy's actor had alot of commitments that but it's a waste
@@eraticate6929 Yes, but I always wanted more for Haley. I know that life is unpredictable and crazy, but I wanted Haley really stand on her own and strive.
@@KathrynB621 she had her dream job and a family with someone who loved her for who she was. She went back to work after having the twins and was still working up until she gave birth. I don’t understand how people think that because she got pregnant in her 20’s she ruined her life.
Claire is not disapproving. She knows what Haley is going through, and doesn't want her to go through what she went through when she was pregnant with her.
I think this was perfect because her mother always tried to control her to avoid she would go the same way as her and Phil, even though the same thing happened she ended happy after all. Dylan is just the same as Phil, a silly guy but he will be by your side taking responsibility no matter what.
The writers recreated Phil and Claire's relationship with Dylan and Haley. Even though some people don't like it, that's the mark of good storytelling.
@@davidlizama223 It's not vague at all. A good story is flowing and consistent. One that doesn't leave a lot of questions unanswered, but when it does it's only because it has to be reread or rewatched. These are the most satisfying. If the writers had also given Alex a man who resembled Phil and Luke a woman who resembled Claire, everything would've been full circle and so much better, however, the way it actually ended was good enough.
@@elainagilbert7663 getting rid of her photography storyline, getting her fired from that fashion designer, having her freeload around her parents house, etc. They didn't know what to do with her character after Andy left so they just started sticking stuff on her until something finally stuck
I think Hailey and Dylan are super cute together. I love this ending. I think they will work out just like Clair and Phill dus when they were young. She still can have her carrière in fashion and be a great mom. Lots of women do that
I honestly love Dylan and hailey Yeah he’s dumb and they both need to grow but they are both genuinly great people who love each other and are always there to help the other no matter what and he’s really useless sometimes but he’s always there to help when she needs him.
Dylan proved himself worthy of her and the babies by reacting that way. The way dylan was introduced in the show, the not so smart, gangsta type of guy, they reallyyyy did goood character growth
Same and I dont get why everyone was rooting for Andy. I did not like them together. The tension building was kinda cute but I think Dylan is the better fit and I will die on that hill.
3 mistakes 1. Why an X-ray for broken nose when it was just the lipstick that had gone inside? 2. Why anaesthesia for Xray? 3. Why Xray if found to be pregnant?
1. They need to see the extent of the lipstick in the nose by doing xray 2. It's anaesthesia to remove the lipstick 3. Xray is harmful for pregnant ladies, so they need to check as well
Having dated an Andy and then marrying a Dylan , Andy's are those you want to end up with because it looks so good on paper. But the Dylan's are the one's you should end up with because they are your weird other half ❤
I didn’t mind Dylan but I feel like this was the easy way out with her ark. I know things ended with Andy because of his personal endeavors but man he was perfect for her. Imo.
It's not that she ended up with Dylan that hurts, it's how they threw away her character development. She could've held a really cool fashion job AND been with Dylan, but noo
I was also angry that she didn’t end up with Andy at first, but ultimately I think this was the right decision. Andy was important for Hailey to start growing, but it felt like they would have never been on the same level. It feels like she and Dylan had an actual partnership where both worked on themselves and they grew together. Also, don't forget that Andy was also a cheater.
I honestly wish we never saw Dylan again after Season 7. At the very least keep him moved on. He shouldn't have been Haley's end goal. It undid her growth. Andy actually brought out the best in Haley.
This is kind of how my younger daughter found out about her second pregnancy. I took her to the hospital for a minor procedure. I offered to wait, but she told me to go ahead and take off; she'd call me when she was ready to be picked up. She called less than 20 minutes later. I hadn't even got very far, so I turned around. She met me in the lobby and had a weird look on her face. I asked why they hadn't performed the procedure, and looked sheepish and said, "Because I'm pregnant." I knew she and my SIL were trying for a second, but no one expected it to happen so quickly. Of course, I called her mom immediately. SIL was the first to know, by the way. Also, she was having twins, but we didn't know that for a few weeks.
I can see why people don't like Dylan, holy hell. I don't mind that he's not the smartest character, but I absolutely loathe that he's every sitcom's stereotypically dense and clueless character. The "comedic relief" kind of character. Now, why I can understand why someone people would've liked to see Haley end on a complete 180 (focusing on self and career over romantic/sexual relationships and partying), I don't think it's inherently bad that she ended up with a simple life as a young mother. Because that's honestly pretty realistic. Especially for someone who had the type of life experiences she did as a young teen/adult. And I think it's pretty humbling for her since she's working at a job she likes and paying for her home/kids. I would've liked had they kept going to show that she can still focus on her career while being a young mom. I just don't like that it's with Dylan. I liked their get-back-together scene, but that seems to be it. I wish they would've kept his puppy-like playfulness but showed more improvements elsewhere.
I'm glad they at least gave Dylan the medical side to give him a bit of intelligence and confidence. If they'd kept Dylan exactly the same it would've been awful
Plus, Alex end sucks. She ended with a guy that never looked at her but her sister, she deserved someone that loved her for who she really was, not this awkward thing rushed for her not to be alone.
