Actually in the league I used to play in there was a such thing called “mercy rule” where you can only win by a maximum of a 7 goal difference, anything greater results in a fine per extra goal scored. There is also a requirement that all players must enter the field at some point

i like to see the people in US like to play football soccer but i feel bad when i see that they only do it when they are kids and when they are adults they change, i mean i barely see a tv show where adults play soccer, only US Football Basketball or baseball, i like those sports but being argentinian makes me like football, blame messi lol

It's so the other team doesn't get humiliated. Everyone should learn how to lose but there's no reason to demoralize kids either. Professional teams do this out of respect if I recall correctly.

That's what I always say. Americans persist with this "fútbol" nonsense like they think it's the real, original name for soccer. It's only fútbol if you're speaking Spanish, and Spanish speaking people just did a phonetic transcription of an English word - the word "fútbol" has no genuine etymology in Spanish.
