Caves come to mind as a decent utility land package, and with Biovisionary you wouldn't even need that many of them. Sultai colors would also get you that, plus loam and the entire transmute mechanic if you want it.
March From Velis Vel just seems like another win con in a landfall deck 😛 "Got lots of lands and nothing to do with them? Well donl I have the solution for you!" (Cultivator Colossus)
Final Act can also be a politics piece to remove your opponents' poison counters , which iirc is smth that used to be exclusive to Leeches . also as a Monument to Perfection lover , legal rangeling is huge
IMO March from Velis Vel will be best for decks that care about either Creature Types or Trigger abilities, yes you won't have perfect amount of land types but its still good in decks that care about these things. I'd put this is a 3+ colour deck to max out the number of land types you can use into the deck to make it work (e.g. 3 Colour you'd have the 3x Crime Lands, 3x Gates, a few Caves, Utility Desserts like Arid Archway & Scavenger Grounds etc...). Examples of decks that might like this card are: 1) Be'lakor, the Dark Master: has 2 effects, when it ETB's it draws draws equal to the number of Demons you control & when another Demon ETB's it deals damage equal to that Demon's power. Cast a copy of the Commander & get at least 2 cards & deal 6 damage for 3 mana. 2) Felix Five-Boots: adds another combat triggers, clone Felix & now you have x3 the attack triggers instead of x2. 3) Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm: since the copies ain't Tokens Miirym ability will trigger to create a copy of that card. Copy Miirym & the OG Miirym will create a 3rd copy giving you 3 copies of Miirym & if you can cast another Dragon you get 3 Miirym triggers & have 4 copies of that Dragon you casted.
The omni land I can see being more impactful in Legacy with Locus and Urza lands. But that gives edh 8 Urza typed lands for Urzas Workshop. 3 Urzatron, factory, Saga, Cave, workshop, and nexus.
The land makesburzas workshop tap for another mana so I might tryit in my kozilek deck over a weaker option. And March can turn all your gates into gatebreaker ram.. which isn't good but it is sweet
I dunno... Four mana to make two tokens and can't be reduced by his effect? I was thinking it might be better in something like Zada Hedron Grinder. Then again the stapled on goblin bombardment may be pretty useful... All worth thinking about.
@@japplekoh I will absolutely be running this in my Zada deck. Granted it’s not a really high power build cuz my group doesn’t really play more than casual so idk how it will do in high power builds, but I’m certainly excited for it!
I want to find a home for March from Velis Vel in my Obeka, Brute Chronologist deck. But it's hard to justify making the mana base worse for one fun card in the 99. Seems like it's a decent pet card in any Gates deck that has green and blue in it's identity.
Lately I've been making my budget/4fun decks with mana base based on gates, caves or deserts just because it's more fun that way. Now I'm hoping Planar Nexus and March of Velis Veil are cheap.
There are so many cards lately that bring cloudpost combos back in my mind we even have a few land copy options with thespian stages and the cave that comes in coping graveyard land as well as monument of perfection searching for locus you can now have4 cloudpost and16 mana in commander with4 cards
Final Act is an exile sweeper in black, right? It destroys all creatures, sending them to the graveyard, and then it exiles all graveyards. Obviously not as oppressive as Farewell, but it's still mass exile removal in black.
I like March from Velis Val in my Kenessos, Priest of Thassa deck. I use snow lands to help with some sea monster synergy. Then you can turn all snow lands into something like Spawning Kraken or Stormtide Leviathan.
Let's say your Commander has a really good death trigger. March From Velis Vel could be a late-game blowout by making all your Swamps or whatever turn into that creature, triggering the legend rule.
I must admit, I don't like final act. While it is nice to finaly get something playable to remove player counters, sticking it on a card that is mostly slotted in for board whipe/GY hate feels not good. If someone is playing with experience counters they just get got randomly. I would have prefered something along the lines of Pest Control, where the effect might be niche but has cycling to get use out of the card.
5:25 Minor correction, Nearby Planet does not count as a basic. It works with cards that care about basic land types since it has all of them, but it's still a nonbasic land. Planar Nexus fixes all the power issues of Nearby Planet (fetchlands can't get it, it doesn't max domain by itself, and making colored mana actually has a cost). I'm very glad this effect is on a card you can play without pregame discussion now. Tron-lands instantly get turned on, which is very cool. Monument to Perfection can grab it and the other Locus lands.
If I understand “March from VelisVel” correctly the lands keep their types. So it can turn a Gatebreaker Ram into a board full of giant trampling hasty attackers. Sounds like a win con to me
It seems people on Reddit think this won’t work. 🤷♂️

@@methmeth I don't see why it couldn't, but for it to work consistently as a wincon, it looks like it will need a LOT of support, thus possibly weakening the mana base and viability of the deck's synergies. (I would expect 5-6 typed nonbasics to be the minimum to have consistently on board to have a major effect, coupled with a creature you really want to copy) Gates and Deserts could probably pull it off with their special ramp, but it will still take quite a bit of set up. At least the spell has flashback. Problem with Gatebreaker Ram -> you would loose all gates you have as they are now rams.
I was seeing a lot of the “leaks” videos but was avoiding them because I suspected they could be fake but If Tomer is making a video they must be legit!
@@ShinkuDragon so in between that comment and now I found out the reason why nearby planet does it work is because the basic land types would remove all of its abilities.
I think the reason they made planar nexus is to have a land that can fit into all these non basic land decks but not having to be a five color deck. Cause by technicality, since nearby planet has all the basic land types it’s not like your usual “can tap for mana of any color” land and its color identity would by five color exclusive. Now obviously this doesn’t explain why nearby planet couldn’t be legal, but I think giving full domain on even a tapped land that you have to pay for could’ve probably been troublesome for legacy but probably not commander.
They're commander decks themed around the same things the set are themed around. There is lore that they can both center on. Would you rather the commander cards be IN the set?
