Fun (and sad) Lore fact about this video. Genku is Tamyo husband and they had 4 kids: two biological moonfolk, one adopted Nezumi (rat), and one adopted Kitsune (fox), those are the tokens Genku creates with his hability. So........ Josh has been making a father skullclamp his own son, over and over again for value. that's the most Grim Dark thing I've seen in a while.

It's still a greedy mana base. I just checked, avg cmc of 3.9 with 33 lands and 3 mdfc... Should be closer to 36 lands and 4 mdfcs. For reference: Andrew's deck is avg cmc 2.6 with 34 lands and 2 mdfc. That makes sense.

When Rachel attacks Andrew with Tarmagoyf on turn 4 they only counted her graveyard for card types those being enchantment, kindred, sorcery, and land but off the ledger shredder conives Andrew had discarded a creature, artifact and instant so the goyf should have hit for 3 more damage meaning Andrew would have been at 6 health when he cast sun fall and Jimmy could have killed him in response

Give the man a break, he loves MTG, probably just wants to have a good game with some legends -- rather than keep up with appearances of comedy. The tokens are each of Tamiyo's and Genku's adopted children. The whole point flavor-wise of the ability triggering from permanents leaving is because they became orphans or were abandoned.

Might just be an editing thing, but when Jimmy casts the Eldrazi and triggers the Ugin's Binding at 45:17, Andrew already has the Strix Serenade in his GY and the mana tapped, but the Serenade isn't cast until a full minute later.

What my favourite part of Ulalek is, is when you cast a shapeshifter tribal instant/sorcery and get a cheaper way to get their trigger

I cast Eldritch Immunity with two Chittering Dispatcher Myriad triggers on the stack. I also had two Fleshrakers on the battlefield. So 4 spawns entered dealing 8 damage, then the myriad triggers resolved and 8 copies of Chittering Dispatcher entered dealing 16 more damage. I had split the attacks up so that my opponents were facing 6/8/6. They were basically dead at that point, but if they had survived via a fog, they had another 16 damage coming at them from the 8 myriad copies leaving and creating 8 more spawns. 40x3 damage on turn 5 is nuts.

He had a creature that could block, Andrew had mana open and Josh didn't. It makes more sense to kill josh first especially because Jimmy had Odowara. Andrew just got really lucky he wheeled into that prot spell... it's not that it was scripted or a bad play... Andrew just has plot armor in real life

@@jamesboyack9736I still think attacking Andrew was the correct move. Both Andrew and Josh were dead to that attack, but Andrew had much more offensive momentum than Josh. Yes, Andrew's draws were clutch, but he had more and more immediate paths to victory than Josh did, so taking him out first is the safer option.

It took them a year after printing the first set of planeswalkers before they printed any more. They want to get feedback and see the player reaction before committing more to them. And Wizards is generally working far into the future, so it takes time for changes to happen.

Battles are a new card type there was no way they were going to rush into it without see how they worked out first. They work years in advance, bare minimum you're looking at two years before something shows up in a set after they decide to include it and that's if they decided immediately after release. More realistically it will be 3-4 years before me see more. We could start to see new battle in the next year, but it wouldn't surprise me if it takes longer. and that assumes they even decide to bring them back.

@@Natedogg2yeah, sometimes there's some really sneaky stuff you can completely miss if you don't know about it. The common Lord of the Ring cards with basic land cycling for 1 mana (e.g. Generous Ents) are also basically tapped MDFCs that can easily disappear in a decklist. And green has a ton of 1-mana cards that fetch for a basic land (but can be powerful tutors lategame).

Ahh yes, another commander video playing with the new set....not using the commander decks. I loved being able to watch you all pilot the new decks in action. Now it's just you guys playing whatever you want. At least the commander cards themselves are from the new set. But I don't really care about your random 99 piles for new set videos, I am interested in seeing the new decks.
