1:42:16 I have been patiently waiting for it be the right play for Reid to double activate his Raging Ravine, and it finally came up in a relevant manner. ♥️♥️♥️ How many years has it been since he last did this in a CFB video? THIS is a sign that the Lurrus ban was good: games last long enough for 9 mana plays to happen and matter.

Reid is a class act as always. He makes all the right plays, gets hosed by bad luck constantly, and doesn't get discouraged or bat an eyelash. Well done, brother.

I want to ask, because I play an abzan version of this deck, what is Reids plan vs tron. I use vindicate and assassin's trophy and boseju but I feel like Reid instant loses against tron, or am I wrong?

Match 1 game one is the best example of why boomer jund is not coming back. Completely dominant situation, upp ragavans into wrenn, and then murktide is toofast a clock. Those cards are just soooo much better than what jund is doing.

I agree with your meta analysis. The Omnath decks are greedy, and they’re a problem. They will almost certainly move to first place in the format without Lurrus as competition (not that I even thought those decks had a great matchup against Omnath, anyway). I like Liliana against them, because Omnath often comes down alone at first. I’m playing E Tron, though. It still gets free wins over all the cheap decks and it can go over the top of 4C, and disrupt it with TKS, Karn, etc. I’ve reconfigured it to green with Boseiju, which shores up the traditionally bad Amulet/Tron matchups. Does that seem good?

i'm pretty sure when you go removal heavy you board out the BBEs. Your BBEs lose a ton of value when half of your spells are removal.

You can't play modern without jamming as many Modern Horizon 2 cards into your deck as possible. That single set completely broke the format.

Is Reid deliberately not using any MH2 cards? I can understand not using Ragavan in Boomer Jund, but not using Grist or Endurance? Seems like the decks would be objectively better with them.

This was really rough to watch. Reid's usually a craftsman in terms of deck building, but he's been running the same suboptimal random pile of junk for some time. BBE? LotV? One Klothys and Bob? Over the good new cards? He's really become the lead stereotype of how a lot of Jund players are unwilling to adapt and innovate as the format changes. If Jund really is back, and this is it, it's time to jump ship for a while.

As much as I respect RD, it's almost as if he's choosing NOT to play more recent cards that would give him the edge. You obviously need 4 monkey because that's just current modern 2 tourachs in the side absolutely stomps UW and 4c Money tribal Hidestsugu consumes all destroys all 1 or 0 drops on ETB then it exiles all graveyards. It's a Haymaker vs hammer time, murtide, Titan, rhinos, affinity etc.
