First, I keep thinking "oh no, does he have to work with another scale again." But because the intro sounded so beautiful, I go along with it. Now I think: Cool, you've familiarized yourself with another scale in the process. That's what I appreciate about your videos: You constantly push me out of my comfort zone without overwhelming me because you approach it in a very structured and step-by-step manner.
Noel, I'm really glad you are getting out of the 'comfort zone' for most.🙌🏽 Appreciate your kind words and your support towards this channel as well!🎹 If you feel like you need similar videos to get going with musical journey, let us know what you need and we can send you a list of them right away!😊
I really love your lessons, especially about arpeggios. You have such an inspiring personality! Great idea for an arpeggio to use an interval above the third - I will try it with different chord progressions. As always - thank you!
Really enjoyed your video. I'm new to learning to play piano and im looking forward to give this a try tomorrow. Love your passion for playing, you can feel it. Glad I've found your videos.
Wow what a valuable lesson.. 👏 just love the way you bring in Indian rhythm into Piano.. wilp be really fun if you can explore more on tabla, mridangam rhythms into Piano👍😊🙏
Jason another amazing lesson! As a suggestion would you ever consider doing one on constructing harmony for fusion say jazz/rock//funk. I can come up with ideas but find I get stuck when moving to a B part maybe a changing key or colour into a different feel but making the parts coherent with each other . I’m not keen on the jarring time signatures DT use but I am a fan of mixing bars of 4/4 with 7/4, odd length bars I suppose, offsetting the notes over a straight groove rather than skipping the groove to come back in on the one if that makes sense. Anyway thankyou for all you do, very inspirational. This lesson wasn’t far off what I was thinking really. Stevie mixed with Holsworth.
Hi Jason, firstly thank you indeed for this interesting lesson that is rich in information. Secondly as far as I understood that one can use any note in the scale adding it to the first and fifth of the chord and it will not clashes, is that correct?
Hi Jason, please can you tell me what software you use to show the piano and the chords? It's something every piano player needs. Very helpful to know what chords are being played. Thank you
