This is gross industrial farming of them. It's not cuz they are cute or what ever. No animal belongs living it whole life in that setting. I wouldn't eat your rabbit meat. That's not how they should be treated, won't eat chickens or eggs if raised in the fashion. They are starved of even sun light

Not to mention the first farm. Had all of their cages with that cool plastic floor. Which is a lot more comfortable for the rabbits than the standard wire floors. That was cool.

problem with rabbits is they're territorial, so must be kept alone once they reach a certain age or they will fight to the death (unless in HUGE areas of land where catching them would be impossible). They don't know any different in the way they're kept here, so it's really not going to bother them, just upsets us cause we do know different for ourselves & anthropomorphise. Anyway, I really don't have an issue with this, other than I think it's inefficient compared to larger animals & ones that can be housed together, so imo it makes more sense to farm larger animals instead. What does upset me though is angora wool farming, which is similar to this, but the animals are kept for years in that way, fur grows long, then it is ripped off their body until they are naked & bleeding all over & then those rabbits are put back into the little cages, cold & in pain & left there to grow the fur back ready for a repeat & that is their existence! It's done over & over & over! Please be aware & share with others that effectively all angora wool today comes from rabbits, not goats & via that method, generally from China, where there's no climate control for the rabbits, just long fur, then ripped out & freezing cold until it grows back again, then they get super hot for weeks before again having it ripped out to freeze & be in pain

Is the same as cage eggs vs free range pasture raised eggs, the vast majority don't come from the latter, the vast majority of rabbits breed for meat never see sunlight (and in reality, therefore probably don't miss it either, cause it's something they've never known & can't imagine)

The problem with having animals close to the ground is the bacteria they could accumulate, which is why it's safer to keep them in elevated cages. In the case of chicken it is not safe to keep them in pens at ground level because when defecating they would benefit the growth of bacteria that would make the chicken sick, the same for rabbits.

If rabbits are mass produced in a factory i rather have it done like shown here in this video. The place was clean, the rabbits looked healthy and stress free. im releaved i saw no torture or cruelty.

@@armandoperaltaduran3533 True! Thats the problem between psychological welfare vs. potential build up of diseases. I worked on a chicken farm that was "Bio" (a certificate in Germany for better circumstances for animal and product buyer) and they had more ground, less animals than conventional farms and little sliders at ground level that were able to clean the dirty floors. Though I cannot say anything about longterm success since the chickens were pretty young for the duration that I have worked there and thus had a good immune system and not much accumulation of feces in their stable. Im leaning towards optimal psychological welfare and thats why I demand more space, but I do understand that that may compromise physical health due to less cleanliness of environment.

I am not against eating rabbits and I have eaten rabbit dishes or so before but the truth about the method they use that they claim the rabbits they slaughter are ‘free ranged’ or out of the cage is literally the first part of this video. They don’t let these rabbits out at all, and they just mass produce a good amount of it for food or testing. This goes for a lot of animal farms as well. It is an unavoidable fact that we have at least eaten animals that came from these types of factories. Besides the point, you saying this is very insensitive. In India, 40% population is born vegetarian, which means humans can live without killing and consuming animals from birth. My mom for special occasions will cook my great x4 grandmothers braised rabbit pie recipe. It’s a winter favorite. We usually have it for Christmas dinner and then around the time of the last snow/cold spell. You vegans are missing out big time.
