If you regularly watch TKO you will know his playstyle for S & D is to run with the Riot Shield and get kills with melee or throwing knife - Both of which have been nerfed with slower movement speed, melee damage, and slower switch to throwing knife speed. His 20 streak was by simply running with a combat knife in a normal game which he is also good with, but not his primary playstyle.

I honestly thought he was trolling with the riot shield he's better. His play style can adapt and it will be faster paced and way more fun to watch. But with this new movement it will be challenging to get down
I'm so glad I decided to grind the 1000 kill mastery for the shield before the update. If I see any of you out there grinding the shield, I will let you kill me for free.

I agree with you. I can’t believe this wasn’t told to us before it went live. I felt like the shield was fine as is but whatever. They “fix” things we don’t even ask for.
It wasn’t fair the fact that you can barely even shoot feet rn and it’s impervious to most explosives plus battle hardened making it extremely resistant to the counters just makes the game not fun
@@lebronjames7426 first of all the issue was people running it on their legs, its just harder. So they can still be shot. It was bad for people using the riot shield as it shouldve been. Obviously if youre crouching you shouldnt be able to be shot unless from a different angle. But the cost is movement speed. You already cant fire. The game has broken ass weapons and UI and you’re complaining about riot shields. Get fuckin better. Theres so many counters. Even with battle hardened, all you have to do is move around them and shoot down
To be fair, I saw so many moments where someone would sit and throw their knife and be able to pull their shield back out without dying... While the other guy was fully spraying them the entire time.
Out of alllllll the broken weapons in the game, their biggest nerf was towards the riot shield...which I find a very hard time understanding why they even touched the movement speed at all...along with 3 melee hits in a game where you have 1 shot snipers to your pinky toe, and smg’s acting’s like assault rifles.. This large nerf does honestly feel targeted lol...

Tbh, with the faster swing speed, it seems like the riot shield is actually better in 1v1. But it does suffer more when surrounded. I'm just pissed about the throwing knife speed nerf. Oh let's make it as slow as a semtex. Okay, now there's no logical reason to use the TK since semtex is just as fast & can also get multi kills

They could handle it like they did in MW3 with the proficiencies on the shield if I remember right. You could choose between speed or faster melee speed, I think maybe even damage, but my memory is fuzzy on that.
riot shield attachments are a good idea. an attachment that lets you have better speed overall but won't protect against explosives and armor piercing ammo is balanced in my opinion.
You know what happened, all those players you killed before kept reporting this "problem" to Activision and they saw his videos and was like "yep it's unbalanced"😂
My man. You got me into using the riot shield and throwing knives (I use a pistol, though). I didn't know they nerfed the throwing knives till I tried out Shipment and kept getting shot. I figured it out then. I feel your pain, brother.

Lol you clearly haven't done any of the camo challenges if you think all weapons 2 shot. I had to put 37 rounds into somebody with the rpk before they died.

@@AnAmericanMusician RPK is literally one of the best guns in the game, and the best gun in Warzone by far, if you have to shoot someone 37 times with it to kill them you might be the problem, not the gun.
I feel like the riot shield was already bad enough with pulling out throwing knife, switching to the secondary, etc. I haven’t done gold challeneges for it yet and now i’ll probably save it for last with the javelin. So many times in search and destroy I would somehow get sniped or one shotted when trying to put back the shield after throwing knifing. It already felt so dang slow. Activision is seriously lacking with this nerf, alot of pissed off players bc of this.
They nerfed my playstyle day 1. I use smoke and thermals typically. The point was to be kinda covert and stealthy while being offensive. But now thermals show glint BEYOND the smoke, so there's no point
@@jamiep4674 its never just one. They roam in packs. And when u only get max two thermites or you equip an rpg and it throws off the whole style of how you have to play cuz ur so slow now. Its just annoying.
I thought this game felt weird my knifes ain't cutting and the throwing knives don't throw out fast anymore. Also throwing knives feel so bad and feel like stuff should hit and it gets yeeted the side out.
I think the nerfs just added counterplay to a shield in objective game modes. I do think they went a little overboard though, this hurts modes where you're actually using the shield to kill.
@@MunKDaDDyy Not traditionally in gaming, but in my experience in CoD they have always had that function. Some people even revolve their entire playstyle around melee. In my experience, I'm a camo grinder, and the shield's challenge is to get kills. It would be much easier if the challenge was just to block damage. Personally, I'm in agreement with you, aside from the fact It is a playstyle and I'd like to see as many as possible in the game. It's more fun that way.

Riot shields are frustrating but it’s the only part of the gameplay that slows things down in a good way, that’s why they use them in DMZ on AI to make things more interesting. Instead of shoot, take cover reload shoot take cover reload -there’s more to it!! There needs to be more things like riot shields in the game, not less!
I don't use the shield, but haven't even been in a position where the enemy using the shield knew how to use it. I've only been killed by it a handful of times, almost all from the back, or one hit after already taking damage from someone else. I don't think it needed to be nerfed, and DEFINITELY not 3 hit kill. If they're gonna do that they need to make it faster. I hope they go back and fix it.
I would agree everytime I would die by a shield it's either from behind or already being shot and now it's 3 hits so good luck on those challenges it still had the same problem of if you just shoot the side of it like the edge you could still hit the person I'm glad I got gold and Plat before this update
I like how infinity ward has not yet addressed the amimbo p 890s with 24 ammo and faster pull out speed and fire rate than a shotgun and still one shots at like 15 meters
I mean I don't use the riot shield a lot so take it with a grain of salt but I think the throwing knife change was needed, before it was basically instant which was pretty annoying. The other changes I have no idea why they made those, especially the three hit kill which is just stupid.
@@tyranq8609 drill charge flash bang 3 hits to kill someone, direct impacts from launcher, buggy desync meaning you get hit when you swapped to your shield, and now with everyone being given utility for free, it just makes riot Shields even more useless since everyone can swap to semtexs thermites and drill charges mid game
I just started using the same class setup as you 1 week before the update, and I was having so much fun. This dumb update came out and now I have such a hard time getting the throwing knife out in time to win 1 on 1s like before. To add to it, I find myself knifing air, even when I’m literally right next to them. They need to nerf gun damage if they’re going to nerf riot shields and knifes.
I love this content but this is a shooting game so no it shouldn't nerf the guns.. fps is fps and the shield is a gimmicky joke for trolls like TKO like it should be. Not an op option for solos and especially not crazy good in multiplayer like they just were.
I genuinely hope they revert this change or make it less than 3 hits especially for those who haven't done riot shield camos more so the Polyatomic part with kills from behind.
I think the knife throwing nerf was fair, as with fast hands you could throw a knife faster than a person could react and ADS with a majority of weapons, I think the idea is that they should have a fair fighting chance once you start attacking and they wanted to increase that window.
Disagree. A person using a shield and throwing knives is already at a huge disadvantage in EVERY other aspect of the game. Having a slight advantage at throwing lethals faster did not really compensate for the handicap. Honestly this game is supposed to have all weapons at a equal level of lethality so everyone can play how the want so the shield should have got a buff not a nerf.
I'm just glad I got Orion before this, even though it honestly wasn't that hard to do it in core, especially 3rd person, but that third hit seems brutal
I heard they also took away the full coverage when it's on your back when running. So now people can easily shoot you from behind instead of the shield blocking bullets.
While I do think the nerf is out of left field for people that use the riot shield, we can't deny that pulling out the TK within 1 frame is extremely hard to react to and contest. Good luck to anyone who hasn't gotten the shield camos done yet
They did this because yo videos are fire and they needed to slow you down to give others a chance to look good bro, but what they failed to realize is they'd need to blow up your pc to even have a shot at that. Honestly the most annoying thing about the riot shield is constantly having to shoot around it while it's on someone's back. Outside of that I could care less. Ima stick it with a drill charge and bare minimum take a trade lol
thats so crazy. there was literally nothing OP about the shield being used like a shield. My only issue was with overkill riot to protect your body. They actually just nerfed shield because the people who hate it REALLY hate it

Exactly why this was officially my very last call of duty as a whole. My riot shield dual pistol combo has been trash for years. Just isn't fun anymore since BO2.... Retirement
I just want more melee weapons, man. Give me the sledge hammer. Give me a claymore sword. The Kali sticks, batons, machetes, kukris. The previous CoD's all had a variety of those melee weapons

Shield main since mw2, shield is the hardest thing to main, but it passes people off the most. If everyone used meta in a game, no one would say anything. If ONE person uses a riotshild everyone loses their mind
Can't believe they nerfed it, in a call of duty that has more counter equipment to riot shields than ever before. Semtex, Drill Charge, Molotov, Thermite, Gas Grenade, Frag Grenade, Bouncing Betty, Shock Stick, Stun Grenade, Flashbang. Best part is whenever I'd fight someone who was throwing knives from behind the shield, just move side to side and when you're using the shield, move side to side to avoid drill charges etc. But now with the shield you can't move so you just die.
I'm so glad I finished Orion today and don't have to worry about doing shield challenges again...tho I will miss pulling it out to beat on other shielders...
