The reason why MW2 has no destructible walls is because MW2 doesn’t have large maps like BF2042 because a player could easily destroy the whole map

things from bf2042 that they should add to MW2: -Craters generated by explosions -Physics of movement in trees -The revolver reload animation -Destruction

Battlefield doesn't have the half of details that MW2 has, but almost everything that MW2 is lacking is related to geometry changing mechanics that on the other side Battlefield has full of.

In some of the clips for 2042 you're using launch or beta footage and in other clips you're using at least Season 1 footage. Have you compared something like the water physics in the beta with how it is now to know no difference and deemed not suitable to re-record?

I get it that destruction isn’t a core feature of COD’s design but I would like to see one or two ground war maps that toy around with that mechanic. That way it can give some more attraction to battlefield fans and still not change COD’s formula too much

MW22 was a upgrade from MW19. But BF42 was a downgrade from its previous titles.

You can crouch and press E to open doors slowly/partially in 2042.

In other Comparisons the heat spot is their in modern warfare an battlefield 2042 its the type of surface you shoot on in 2042 will cause heat spots.

That's weird. I literally just saw another video when you were shooting through a window in MW2, you can see the point of impact through the other window. Perhaps you encountered a bug?

Minute 6:36 when he was testing bullets going through both windows, if you check the texture it would seem like the bullet did not go through the first glass either as if it was bulletproof, which would make sense given its a cop car, and also explains why it doesnt penetrate the other window, if thats the case then thats a good detail. Edit: Bulletproof :P

It's kinda weird to think that BF2042, the final product, has less detail than MWII, a beta released just a week or two ago.

I feel like battlefields way of showing bullets hitting metal is more realistic. It's not going to glow after getting shot but even if it does it won't glow for that long

Battlefield 2024 has physics I've never seen in a video games. Suppose you had Battlefield 2024 physics in Modern Warfare 2. It would be wonderful

Some of my casual observations: 1:40 I have never seen a character hold a pistol THIS comfortable and true to life in most FPS games (since I might be wrong). Holding a pistol up-right and centered while crouching or in a combat-ready pose is really unnatural. That's why Battlefield 2042 looks like it's from 2012 while people are mistaking MW19 & II for actual IRL POV combat drills. Freaking ironic because DICE literally figured this out just a game earlier - Battlefield V. - 1:57 This is actually a win for Modern Warfare II. Yes BF is a war game so these physics are expected, but this really messes with visibility so no wonder why MWII decided to tone it down to a more subtle level. - 2:42 MWII has the edge on water effects but at least Battlefield 2042 has better shadows (lol). - 3:38 This one in particular boils my blood to no end, Battlefield is about all-out-war with vehicles which should have been the one coming up with this feature first. Yet out of all games, CoD is the one that actually came up with "independently damageable vehicles parts", f*cking hell. The even went the extra miles to visually show us the damage and let us repair it. Now everyone is an engineer, CoD is really eating that BF cake and it's eating good. But at least 2042 has that burning metal spot for the C5 lol (christ on a cracker what a joke of a game). - 4:41 Battlefield 2042 has better shadow & smoke effects and Modern Warfare II has better lighting and particles simulation. As expected from both. - 4:55 Well no Battlefield games have ever had ledge-hang or shooting from ladder anyway. Ladders and rooftops are always death traps. Let's be honest, both games have their own details that make them what they are... To me, comparing them is a waste of time since they are way too different, from graphics to game mechanics. PD: Great video tho!

Now video, although you need to create similar situations in both games for these comparisons. For example, bullets shooting through objects, you shot a tree next to a wall in MW but for the BF clip you shot a barrier with nothing behind it. Which doesn’t really make sense for that example. As well things like throwing a grenade in the water in MW vs throwing C4 in for BF

im a Battlefield fan but, I gotta say, MW II looks great and has more variety when it come to maps. Each one of both titles has their advantages when it comes to effects of the enviroment but still, MW looks have more scores in comparation. Good job.

this video also shows that infinity ward made a new game engine (i think) back in mw2019 while bf2042 is still stuck with its slightly outdated game engine that every new dev at dice or any thing that works with their frostbite engine hate working with it because its confusing

Try testing the penetration on a different car than the police car I could be wrong but maybe theres some Bullet resistant glass on the police car?

The worst bf for attention to detail against the best cod. But as a bf fanboy I gotta say im Jealous of many mechanics in MW2. I still prefer 2042 over ground war though

They've done great with the new modern warfare games. I remember when I used to say how much better battlefield was compared to cod now it's the other way around. I haven't had that "battlefield feeling" since bf4. Bf1 was alright though.

I'm a hardcore Battlefield fan, but somehow I've become frustrated with the series.... The gunplay at 5:09 might convinced me to give Modern Warfare 2 a try. My last COD I've played was the original Modern Warfare 2

My thing is while yes 2042 has some details that are more immersive, they are resource intensive systems that don’t have a real impact on gameplay. Like let’s compare vehicles 2042 has foliage move based on vehicle action and leave tracks behind CoD 2022 has actual lean mechanics, individual damage impacts that can expose the riders or impact drive performance, and the like. So sure immersively seeing a tree shake cause I shot my tank is cool, but I’d rather have everything MW2 has gameplay wise while not wasting resources both on my PC and of the development team on trees shaking.

After the downfall of bf the people in charge finally listened to the fans and in one year the game is actually playable and fun. I was and am the biggest critic of bf. Even with the specialists the game is getting fun and good. I bought $120 game and thought i was scammed but turns out the game is really good after 1 year. Could have been better but atleast these numbskulls at dice are learning whats good n bad for the franchise.

Audio design for bf2042 is absolutely amazing, I don’t want to hear no “bUT FoOtS-“ not talking about that I mean the overall design from the guns shooting in the distance, tanks shooting, atmosphere, it’s amazing. Compared to previous bfs it’s not that great but still amazing

TBF in the areas where battlefield wins, the frostbite engine was literally built for that stuff.

Bf has more environmental physics and mw2 has more player physics which is why this is hard to compare which is better looking each game does something better then the other

In 2042 you can see the smoke on the right, there’s just less. CoD’s smoke is unrealistic. The 2042 ballets burn the walls but only on some materials.
