I'm not a feminist and even I had to catch myself before challenging that, because the reality of things is I know plenty of women personally who have this victimhood. However, they didn't really do anything to avoid pregnancy themselves and many of them have multiple children with multiple men. It's clear that these women have to take some personal responsibility too. It's your body and you know it better than a man, you should know all of the contraceptives that are available to you as a grown ass woman, and there are even natural home methods if you don't want to use birth control pills. My husband and I don't like condoms and we don't use them because we've been together for 18 years in a monogamous relationship, and as a nurse I don't believe in birth control pills because they can wreak havoc on a woman's body, cause weight gain for some, increase the size of uterine fibroids in some which can cause copious amounts of bleeding and increase the chances of osteoporosis and anemia, and they can put a woman at greater risk for a stroke or heart attack because they can cause blood clotting. Knowing all of our available options, we use natural methods. I know when I'm ovulating because I keep track of my cycle plus I'm one of those women that becomes pretty symptomatic around that time. I get the implantation pain when the ovulation occurs on one side or the other I can feel it, I get the breast tenderness for the week or two, and then there is obviously going to be the change in the amount and the consistency of the vaginal secretions. I tend to avoid having sex on those critical days with my husband. I get that this may not work for everyone because you have to be meticulous and responsible + obviously there is a chance for pregnancy still, but again I just move mentioned earlier that there are many contraceptives available to women. My husband and I have only one child in the 18 years that we've been together, and she was planned well in advance. My mother also made this method work, and they were able to space out the three of us children buy two to three years like they wanted so I know it works for some women and men. There are various options you can try out there this is not the 1700s. Don't be dishonest and deceptive, and maybe you won't be left a single mother. I think it's always best to get married first but that's just me, and I will never tell another woman what to do with her life, but that's just some advice from a married nurse.

I think I'll be all right. I get it, though: one of my uncles was discarded by divorce after 40+ years of marriage. My aunt had the sheer audacity to reveal her hand to my wife and I *first* before any other extended family members. (We had a close relationship with both of them, for a time.) Utter s**tshow.. I'll spare the details, but you can imagine, and likely not be too far off. I'm 23 years in. My parents (especially my narcissistic mother) have made my wife the new family scapegoat, because she won't put up with the manipulative BS of my family of origin, which is full of covert narc women and enabler men (and I was one of them). I have had a few experiences with family court and have been told about many more. At the end of the day, my wife and I have kept the religious and spiritual commitment of marriage first and foremost. She grew up fairly poor and very traditional. I was raised affluent and semi-progressive. Yes, I know the risk is still out there- I could wind up like my younger uncle. But at this point, I rather doubt it.

I got a vasectomy at 26. Seven years too late. I have been through the meat grinder. Have two sons I have little relationships with. If I could do life over again, I would get that vasectomy as soon as I turned 18.

Lost my job during covid, called child support to try to lower it, they told me there was nothing I could do until the reassessment period. I was getting 2400/month in unemployment. Paying her 1700 a month for my 2 kids, trying to maintain my home, groceries, Bill's, and my wife. I'm lucky that I married an awesome woman this time. She footed the bill and took care of me and my kids while I was struggling. Of course she is from Colombia, and has traditional values, were family takes care of each other.

Legal paternal surrender would do nothing but give men the same rights that women ALREADY HAVE.
