Another band from Seattle. I remember these guys came out in the 90s but very different from the sound other Seattle bands were doing... Which, I didn't care for them much. I remember seeing them free at a festival in Seattle, I think 94 or 95. It is great you have the lovely memories of your friend and that connection to his soul energy and that it left a mark on your life and heart!

Just so you guys are aware, Modest Mouse has a ton of songs that are better than this one. Float On to Modest Mouse is what Creep is to Radiohead. The only song by them a lot of people know, even though they have a big library of seriously great music that's better than this.

Underrated song underrated band. Don’t particularly know why but I just love obscure 90s alternative bands like with like 1 or 2 hits: cake, marcy playground, spacehog, toadies etc. just find their songs catchy and kooky

As a guy whos liking stretch from classic rock to symphonic metal, I really enjoy some Modest Mouse. Haven't heard this song for 10 years. Great memory. Keep coming with different stuff and don't mind guys demanding only "their" music or no music at all! Do their Bukowski song one day.

Johnny Marr from the '80s band The Smiths was in Modest Mouse for awhile.

Just wanted to say that i really enjoyed this reaction. Haven't heard this song in years & it was never one of my favorites, but this is probly one of my favorite reactions by you! Just your overall vibe expressed through your movements (plus the tracks carefree/upbeat message) really sucked me in & lifted me up. Really great. Also, i know you've been doing a lot of grunge lately but i'm still waiting for a couple of my favorites. You have to get to Pearl Jam-Release (live '92), not the best quality at beginning but some of the most emotional heart-felt lyrics you will ever see from Eddie Vedder. Towards the end were he's holding onto the mic/mic stand with both hands & looks to the sky/ceiling. Gets me every time! And Nirvana-Where Did You Sleep Last Night (Unplugged) starts a little slow but Kurt's ragged voice & the emotion that comes through (also the look in his eyes as he takes a breath) toward the end of the song is just amazing! I'm confident you'll get that tingle up your spine, at least momentarily, from both of these performances! Look forward to seeing them soon. Keep it up!

Tool - Ænima album review

As a person currently dealing with my second bout of cancer, I could only hope I would leave the kind of impact Jim had on you, Vin, should it take me in the end (I don't intend to let it without a fight, of course). This song is one my absolute favorites, as it became such after I went into remission the first time. It continues to be my favorite because I know that, in the end, everything will be okay. One way or the other.

The lazy river thing has been in every Florida water park I've ever been to. And it was always everyone's favorite part in 5th grade actually. But nobody relaxed there like intended. More just like in infinite length pool with a current. It got very loud and chaotic. In hindsight the adults trying to be lazy on the lazy river probably hated field trip days so so much

When I hear Modest Mouse, I usually hear The Pixies (and some solo Frank Black), The Cure, and Talking Heads if they were a single band together. I really like that sound. It's not just foreign countries. Even if you're just in an unfamiliar city, many a cab ride is going to be some degree of "the scenic route."

Years ago - 30+ - I was at college, and we had a trip to a theme park. Julie was a girl I was in love with, but she was with a guy who was using her. We all had a great day. Next day she was unwell. Long story short, she was taken to hospital and died that day from Meningitis. She was 18. When I think of this song I'll remember her smile. R. I. P., Julie Roberts.
