Dresses are sooo EASY and I have a difficult time wearing anything that constricts my abdomen so they work so well for that. Plus, I feel like it looks like you have your act together when you’re wearing a dress! You can’t lose. I just have a hard time staying warm in them and styling them with the proper shoes come winter time. Summer dresses are always the best

I’m Catholic too and also wear skirts and dresses exclusively! It is so edifying to see other women dressing modestly. Now I’m working on detaching myself from old low cut clothes that I used to wear. Reading the book Dressing with Dignity is really helping.

Such a simple & practical solution too. ⛱ Would be utterly chaming beach or deck side. 😉 Wouldn't ordinarily wear a mini-skirt, but even one that short length could cleverly add a modesty panel. 🤗 Been wearing black bike shorts under a matching 1-pc, but that alone doesn't offer enough protection for my sensibilities. So started wearing a longer black sleeveless V-neck peplum top over both for swimming in the 🏊‍♀️pool around guests. It's effective, but not exactly normal gear for most ppl. I am a Traditional Catholic who started wearing dresses and skirts 9 years ago. It takes getting used to at first, but now It makes me feel and act more feminine and I can’t imagine wearing pants or shorts. We nice to portray a feminine image to all!

I started to wear more dress and skirts, but more dresses than skirts, in the past 18 months (in my spiritual search to live a life more pleasing to God in all areas of our lives.) Actually, I started earlier then that, but only to the store or on a date, because I felt uncomfortable being more dressed up than most. I soon learned that I love being more dressed up and I love the feminine look and feeling of looking my best when wearing a dress. My husband loves it too, and that really was what sealed the deal for me...he made a point to give me compliments and his approval. I learned that I was treated with more respect and kinder by strangers, even when I was out with the kids. I love the midi length of dress because I can do my everyday activities without concern of exposing myself. I also learned last year when we were locked down with stay home orders that putting on that dress instantly helped to lift my spirits, because I knew I looked good...even if it was just a blue jean dress or T-shirt dress....I looked better that I would in a pair of blue jeans and T-shirt...It has become important to know I that look presentable at any given time. I live in MN where it gets to be -30 with nasty wind chills to go with it in the winter times. I've learned that with a long skirt or maxi dress, I can wear leggings under it to stay warm while running errands, but enjoy the extra length around the house during winter for warmth. The main reason I began to do this was to please my husband, who has always told me that he loves me in a dress, and also because I have loved dresses since I was a girl and still do. I also do a little sewing of my own dresses, but sew almost all of my daughters' dresses.

I've been wearing dresses and skirts exclusively for about a year now. I feel so feminine and honestly a lot more confident in my body! I love feeling more ladylike. It also makes me aware of how I portray myself to the world...it makes me want to act more classy and sophisticated even when it's a casual dress or skirt 😄 TIP: Walmart has had AMAZING dresses recently...truly! I've come to love them more than Target!

At a local church where the women wore mostly dresses, I have seen some short, skin-tight dresses that were definitely immodest. A nice pair of trousers with a well- fitted jacket (or tunic) that covers the hips and rear can certainly be more modest then some dresses I’ve seen today. But then, I am trying to wear dresses more often as I feel they look more feminine!

Hi Megan! I came across your videos and absolutely love them 💕 I grew up in a Christian home but had some issues in my teen years where I fell away and then God brought me through and brought me back - at that point I didn’t have slot of skirts anymore but had a grandmother who could sew and she was able to take my jeans and sew them into denim pencil skirts ! One of my sweetest moments in my reconciliation with Christ and my walk with God . 💕 thought you may this interesting lol

I love denim skirts & skirts in general mostly in *A-line* . It's flattering on every bodytype. Not to tight, but not bulky either, just perfect! And a tipp for the perfect skirt-/dress- *length* : Always let it end on a narrow part of the leg. So the whole leg will look more slim & sleek..

The older I get, the more I love dresses. They are very comfortable! I always wear capri or regular leggings under them and I feel like I am going to work as comfortable as I would be in sweats...but am so put together.

@@sarahsheartshome I'm from France so I don't really know if you could find the exact same, but any leggings will do honestly (h&m, shein, ASOS sell them) I've cut some of my old leggings into capris too, it doesn't fray since it's knit fabric :)

I'm a Believer in The Lord too and it would be impossible for me to wear dresses and skirts daily as a Physical Therapy student. The material would get in the way! I highly recommend knit dresses, they are the most comfortable. I wear long-sleeved, warmer ones in winter and cool fabrics lime cotton or viscose in summer. H&M has nice, reasonably-priced ones. I often size up for a hody-skimming, not -clinging fit, and/or. choose those with fuller skirts.

I wore dresses and skirts exclusively growing then went years avoiding them. I started wearing dresses several years ago when I joined something called Dressember...it is a fashion challenge to wear a dress every day in December as a way to raise funds to fight against human trafficking and modern day slavery. Now I love them. Cool & comfortable in summer & an easy way to feel put together!

Thank you for these tips! I’m a fluffy girl so finding the right style/cut can be difficult but I love wearing dresses. When I’m doing outdoor activities I tend to add a pair of thin bike shorts for modesty and have found those are super helpful when doing things like gardening. Love your channel!

My whole childhood I went to very informal, Evangelical churches and more often than not, people wore jeans and tshirts instead of “dress clothes”. Fast forward, my husband and I are Anglican (our worship services are very similar to Catholic, but we’re protestant, we have no pope, and our priests marry haha) and I wear a head-covering to church. One of the things I love most about wearing my head-covering is just how feminine it feels! While there’s no rule in my church against wearing jeans or casual clothes, I’ve only worn skirts and dresses since I started veiling. Something about it just naturally makes me want to wear feminine clothes! I still wear jeans and shorts during the week, but I’ve found I’m really comfortable in dresses. Maybe I should start wearing them outside of church, too! Btw, I LOVE that blue linen-y dress!

you should give it a try -- find a casual, loose fitting one and you may be surprised how much cooler it is in the summer weather -- and like she mentioned, much easier to wear -- just pop it over your head and you are done! Less work than pants/shorts and a top!

Since clothes don't have a gender they ar not feminine or masculine. The person can be those things not the clothing. Clothing is fabric.

@@MsSarah999 Sure, fabric alone isn’t intrinsically feminine or masculine, but certain articles of clothing are traditionally worn by either males or females. There may no longer be societal stigmas against men wearing dresses, but up until very, very recently, dresses were for women only. I’m not throwing stones at anyone. People can wear what they want to wear. But my point was that wearing dresses makes me feel feminine, so I like wearing them.

As a plus size lady my favorite hack is to wear floor length dresses with either biker shorts or Capri "yoga" pants and I also wear long sleeve dresses that I can roll up into a 3/4 length sleeve that is very flattering for me.

I've been sewing dresses like crazy lately. I've found a great pattern to accommodate my apple shape...a shift dress. I'm changing it up with different hems, sleeve lengths, pockets and trims. If it's a solid color fabric, I add something here or there to break up the belly area and have begun adding a few darts in the back for shaping while still having room in the front. Anyway....dresses can be much more forgiving than skirts or pants when you don't have much of a waist.

I was once 240 lb. As my weight dropped, I found dresses are more flexible. Now i love that i can pull a dress out of my closet and thats it, no need to match this shirt with that skirt..lol...Simple is good.

Over the past 10 years or so, I have gradually worn more and more skirts, skirts and dresses. It just is so much more comfortable especially in hot weather. There are so many casual dresses to choose from that you can throw on and go! I even managed to make patterns from a few of my favorites that fit really well and have sewn more. It can be done!

I love these videos! Always great ideas on incorporating more dresses into everyday dress. I personally like wearing pants, but I've definitely been moving toward more modest clothing. I've been finding myself gravitating toward culottes with a tunic shirt/dress. I get the security of pants while still wearing a comfy dress. Also recently found a great alternative to pants were "chub rub" leggings so I could wear my dresses without worrying about wind or if the dress was too see-through - and adding slips and camisoles. Historical sewing has me loving all the underpinnings and underwear that we used to wear 😅 Growing up with all the super tight-fitting cropped clothes of the 2000s and 2010s, it took me a little while to release why I enjoyed wearing my medieval re-enactment clothes more - I was more covered and wasn't trying to impress anyone. I also always wore a coife or veil because I was re-enacting 12th century Northumbria, so it would be strange not to as a grown woman 🤷🏼‍♀️

I started wearing dresses about 4 years ago. When I had a foot injury and it was just not easy to wear pants. I tend to go more towards dresses now then in the past. Would you be willing to do a tutorial on how to sit in dresses? I love a good dress. It makes me feel like I can quick go and that’s it. Thank you for those ideas. I love all the outfits. You are really good at putting outfits together. I wear dresses and skirts also. My husband laughs at me when i go hiking in a skirt. I always tell him that you wouldn’t believe what you can do in a skirt lol. I also wear a swim skirt too. That might make a cool video to show how you can still be modest when you swim. I know my husband really appreciates that I dress modest

I’ve always thought about finding a pattern that I love and having it done in many different prints. The cost of paying a seamstress Was a bit overwhelming. I can sew a bit but never thought about trying to do my own. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s the Nora dress from Made for Mermaids. I did have to lengthen the pattern by two inches to get it to my preferred length, but love how comfortable and flowy it is! Connie, it’s SO very simple to sew up and the tutorial is full of pictures and verrrry easy to follow! I bet you could do it!

I wear dresses almost always, and otherwise skirts. My people (I work in disabled care) LOVE it. And I feel so comfortable… especially in hot or cold weather, just handmde, cotton dresses with pretty (and forgiving!) prints! 🥰 Being the best dressed person in the room doesn’t sound very modest, though, lol!🙈

I love wearing skirts and dresses! I grew up wearing them and have done everything from wearing them for everday and special occasions to hunting, fishing, hauling wood and everything in between. One of my best tips for wearing them and staying modest, is to always wear a pair of bike shorts or cut-off cotton leggings underneath. Also a good slip is a must for those beautiful skirt and dresses that are just a liiittle too clingy. I am glad to see to see your review on Thred Up! I love wearing some bike shorts under my skirts! My thighs chafe so badly if it's even the slightest bit warm outside!

@@amieparham7657 Yes!🙌 They are great for preventing that problem! I live in Oklahoma, so it is hot and so humid here the majority of the year... which means lots of sticky, sweaty days... so, I find myself regularly saying, "Thank God for bike shorts!" 🙌😂

Great tip about not getting too many special occasion dresses! I've found that to be true recently. Some times I force myself to just wear my fancy-ish dresses for church, but I grab my basic stripes over and over.

I grew up wearing only dresses as well, except for a few jobs where it would be dangerous to be in a skirt as it could get caught in the machinery, and I have continued as I got older and with my daughters as well. I agree that they are more comfortable and feminine, and I think that as men's clothing in today's world is mainly pants and shirt one can assume that when the Bible says not to wear men's clothing women should be in modest dresses and skirts so even if I didn't enjoy wearing them as much as I do I hope it would still choose to do so!

Love the red dress and the floral one you are wearing. I am all for wearing something like a vest top underneath bcos the necklines are far too low and I also don't like my upper chest getting cold! But may I make a suggestion - don't wear so much black, especially on your top half. Try to look for coloured vest tops to wear under your dresses. Xx

I love dresses. I do not wear them exclusively, but definitely about 9 out of 10 days at a time. Not a huge fan of skirts though. I thought this video was informative and helpful. 😊

Thank you for pointing out that there are times when pants are an acceptable modest choice for certain situations. The Lord moved my heart towards almost exclusively wearing skirts and dresses. However, I still own 1 pair of capris and 2 or 3 pairs of jeans. They are my absolute backups if I need them for something, or if I’m just at home doing projects and want to save my skirts for when I’ll be out of the house.

My summer wardrobe needs updating and with half the summer left (our summer weather extends into October), I am looking into replacing shorts with skirts. We have a wind problem here but with some light weight shorts under any dress solves the problem. When I started wearing casual dresses to college I did get a few questions from my best friend about who I was dressing up for. I love that skirts/dresses automatically make you look nicer, I told her I was "dressed up" for myself lol. I also want to start sewing some of my own clothes but haven't made the time yet.

I started wearing dresses years ago., when we started homeschooling. My tip for moms to wear dresses is to wear longer dresses so you can pick up your kids or play on the floor with them and your are still modest.

I always wear a dress to church , never pants (unless it's -20 or something crazy cuz I live in MN) but since I've had 8 kids it takes a certain style to help hide the belly and most casual dresses don't work for me. I can wear a tight slip on Sundays to hold things in but don't want to do that all the time if I'm trying to be comfortable. Skirts with a good waistband are better but I have a hard time matching tops as far as fabric and style goes. Dresses are definitely better that way like you said you don't have to match anything.

I used to wear dresses and skirts a lot. As a little girl, I loved them most. As a teen, I was teased but wore them often anyway. I am craving them now. I only have one (and a half.) I made a jersey knit that I need to get cut even and maybe hem, depends if it curls. I wear my one skirt every Sunday. The challenge is finding nice skirts in plus sizes. I have a bunch of fabric and way too many projects that I haven't gotten to making skirts.

I started wearing dresses more this summer after listening to Jennifer Scott about dressing better every day. I have a minimal wardrobe which includes 4 dresses I wear when I am not at work. I work in the fire service so I wear a uniform that is very manly all day long. It's nice to feel like a beautiful woman when I'm at home! *** For my build, tall with long arms, I wear Prana dresses and I know they will always fit perfectly.

I wear shift dresses every day as I like to cover up my tummy, crutch and bottom areas , they are worn with leggings or skinny jeans underneath them, I also wear pinafore dresses with tee shirts underneath them so I can wear the pinafore dress more than one day, to cut down on washing. I have 25 dresses all made by me and all worn as I love all of them, the pinafore dresses are made of denim, and some are cotton for the summer, and I have some good ones for good when I go out. I like making my own dresses as I can choose the fabric and colour that I like, I found it hard to find what I want in the clothing shops. ,I love watching your videos, thank you for sharing !

I really love your black floral dress!! I am 57 and was feeling led to wear skirts a couple years ago. I wanted to dress more modest and please God. I hadn't worn a dress or skirts in years! I recently had an umbilical hernia and it got painful to wear jeans and button up pants, so last fall I got some skirts with elastic waist. They are SO comfortable!! I'm still getting used to this, most women at work wear jeans, but I've had some compliments. I love the tiered midi skirts and pleated skirts. They swirl and twirl. 😄 Now I am seeking some comfy dresses to add to my wardrobe. I've seen your sewing videos, now I want to make my own . This week the doctor prescribed me to wear compression stockings for a few months, my leg veins are bulging and not pumping enough blood. These stockings are not fashionable. So I'm self conscience about that too.

I wear dress/skirt most of the time. I like to wear trousers from time to time (and sometimes I need to wear PPE at work) but it's either very colorful dungarees or vintagy-loose trousers (think Marlene Dietrich/30's "beach's pyjama". I sew most of my "vintage" skirt. I only wear under the knee skirt/dress because I am tall and with short skirt I look like I'm 17 years old X).

I decided I wanted to have a simple easy to wear wardrobe that I felt good in everyday. So I chose to buy seven dresses in the same style and in only two different colors as my daily uniform. Next I would like three really pretty dresses for going out. Certainly makes life easy and I just add a different scarf, or necklace to give a slightly different feel each day. I have never been happier than I am now with my wardrobe.
