The graphics displayed in your video are excellent for teaching. I recently attended a seminar about Modic at the Pinellas County Chiropractic Society and I would like to educate my students abut the diagnosis and treatment options available.

Very simple explanation,yet so important points to be remebered,excelent in all aspects

MRI diagnosis of Type 1 for me... Thank goodness my lower back pain was somewhat mild (but persistant). I decided to 'roll with it' and kept up mild core strengthing exercises. It took 14 months; however, after that amount of time I felt 'cured' of any pain associated with the Modic changes. I was fortunate: it just took time and a simple routine of core strengthing exercises. Additional background notes: I also have osteoporosis in lower back (as a result of steriod treatment for Autoimmune Hepititus: that's another story)... but was assured that it was not causing my lower back pain and that it was simply a result of the Modic infection. Suspiciously, my lower back pain/Modic change started very close to contracting COVID (may not be related - but, who knows: still alot of unanswered questions concerning COVID 'side-effects'. I appreciated this very informational video: Thank you for posting it.

Very nice drawings. I was just diagnosed with MODIC changes and will start my 100 day antibody treatment within 20 days. Have carried this pain around since 6-7 years. High level sport lifestyle (bodybuilders/wrestling/MMA). Only opiates could take away my pain buy now I'm looking forward to getting this solved. According my doctor it looks really good and got everything what I need to get back my normal life. Thanks for a wonderful explanation.

How it goes?
@wilhelmvonkatastrophenburg469
@@Fish_dude2 Started the antibiotics but took out too much of me so I've to postpone it where I have 1,5 - 2 months to take off from work. Probably summer. I took it 5 days & then rearranged my plans after some thinking. However I felt some pain/inflammation relief after 2 days so it may be working but not a simple walk at all. I think a person doing this really have to handle it as being away from most thing. So let's come back to this Q3 of 2023.

How about treating Modic with the Intracept, minimally invasive procedure. Just how old is this video?

I got diagnosed with type 1 after a bad car wreck in 2019, it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. I’m fact it seems worse and the fact that I cannot get any relief is frustrating and depressing. I don’t know about others with this condition but I’m freaking miserable every second of the day.

Core strength seems to help most people in this situation. I’ve tried it and it’s helped me , but is also painful. My lower back muscles get inflamed. Check with a good physiotherapist that can give you some good gradual exercises for core strengthening without causing much pain. 🤙

I laughed out loud when they got to the part that included that the pain would get better within a year! Great! Where do I get that year of living back? It's extremely easy to recommend conservative treatments when they aren't living through it. I have finally begun asking doctors if they'd be happy with their wives living like I have to. After the shock of being questioned wears off, they usually suggest more aggressive treatment. Funny, that. No worries- it's only a year of your life and hey, medicine should have some answers in 10,15, maybe 20 years. Meanwhile, work on that core strength. Core strength isn't going to hurt anyone, but if I could just live like a human being again my core strength will take care of itself.

this is me, who are the expert doctors in this field? Are Schmorls Nodes an indicator of modic changes, or just the "osteophytic ridging" that I have at every level of my spine. Is there anyone specializing in this field and exploring whether the cause is injury, infection, auto immune, mechanical, etc... Thank you!!

In Russian federation,there is a good scientific work about Modic changes and intraosseus blockades. And also neurologists in Sokovs pain clinic treat it quite well. pain-clinic.ru

Very nice explanations and drawings. Just one downside, those spines are drawn on the wrong direction... the spinous process (small cloud-like shapes) should be facing your back... No wonder those illustrated humans are in pain!

I just started a few weeks ago, I had to move to mexico to get and do the meds. From what I learned, the pain doesn't really start to subside until about 4 months out, the bones need time to remodel, but the red light therapy I use several times per day has seemed to reduce the sharpness of the pain a little. The red light is a big part of stimulating the healing. I was also thinking to add some HGH soon as this assists in stimulating the bone as well.

@@mirjasekulovic Hi there - I did the FULL 100 days of antibiotics WRECKED my Summer onto of Back Pain I had... IT didn't work... I just had Ablation (burn the lumbar nerves) three weeks ago which has helped the pain more than anything... go back to that Dr in 2 weeks .. injections also help. BUT this Treatment was a waste of my Time, $ and stomach irritation... I tried it because nothing else was working... its sound like it makes sense but as faithful as I was to the treatment DID NOTHING for me.

"We don't know the cause. So we can't fix it." But we'll give a name! Let's see, what can we call it that can't be used against us in court? It's got to lack any indication it's correctable or repairable, allow us to throw expensive meds and proceedures at it that the insurance company will pay for! At least until they realize it's a red herring. And it's got to sound impressive enough that the patient will think we're on to something, even though we are completely guessing just like the weather guy on the news! Let's see...... Fibro Myalgia. No, someone beat us to it! Great scam though. Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Another great name that fits the criteria but again, taken. Ah, I'll just attach my name to it. This way it will bewhat ever I say it is, and I can double speak as well as anyone! Besides, I'll be as famous as that Dr. Stenosis guy!!! His name is on every radiology report of every MRI of the back know to man!!! That lucky guy!
