This video describes the modification to the handle bar for KTM RC 200/390. All parts used are genuine KTM parts, assembled at authorized KTM service center.
Cool you modded the bike according to your requirement, not to showoff, thumbs up !!! One small feedback - paint the tripple tee & handle bar in matt black that will make whole lot of difference
Excellent work Manish, i'd be lovely to see another more comprehensive review of how this mod results in the riding experience, do share your experience so far. Cheers!!
hello Manish, its very nice to see this mod on an actual RC. i have been planning to do the same cuz of my ride plan. please post some more footage and with a person how does the ergos change, itll be very helpful for other rc owners who tour. ;)
Which bike's brake hose pipe you used? Please tell me. I am planning an easily swappable clip on riser and it also doesn't spoil the look of the bike but I am straining my brake pipe and accelerator cable. Got a longer duke accelerator wire but I am stuck at the hose pipe. Please HELP!
Hi manish.. Can you pls let me know from which ktm service center you did it.. Im also living in karnataka.. And your handle bar raise is super cool ans neat
Bikash Shaw Not sure about R15, you have to do research....fz comes with the upright handle bar may be you can check with yamaha service if it has feasibility with R15 as well
Dear manish i also want to change the rc 200 handle bar like yours but please tell me which front break pipe u used bcoz company fitted break pipe is short for this purpose.
How can i buy that handle bar, i live in indonesia, i have that bike too but i wanna change handle bar like you. What a type of handlebar ? Im sorry for bad english -_-
Hi Manish. Just saw your video and question arise.. I hope you will answer my question... by replacing its Handel to straight bars.. Can this really solve the problem of multiple body pains and made it tourer?? If yes what about leg posture.. Or it has not that big issue and another question about heating.. Is it really heat that badly ki you can't drive your bike at all and does it really roast your legs.. Please answers me i am planning to buy rc 390 and your answer will really help... Thanks suraj
Hi Suraj, this definitely solves the problem, I am able to 1k + trips with ease, I am 5"10 and leg posture is not a problem for me, about heating ..it depends on you how you ride your bike, people riding with bathroom slippers on May face this issue that too in Duke but not in RC.
@@TheManishtehlan Thanks mansih for your answer can I ask you one more question.. How this bike performs in city like pune mumbai full of traffic.. Can this bike manage it self to ride on low speed like 30-40 on high gear like 5-6 or do I continously need to shift the gears.. I saw review of ninja so asked.. Thanks
Gaurav yadav yes you can but at your own risk....ride will be very comfortable....I did more than 1000 km ride after swapping this handle bar ...you can see my chennai to hyd ride
I_am_Groot looks are subjective, this handle bar modification is more of a practical approach, If you ask me about looks , it did not bother me as I change them to clip ONS whenever I want. You can decide yourself I have given few photos of bike in the last section of video.
kunal gaurav it's upto you to decide if it is worth or not, However to answer your question, it will not only reduce but you won't even feel stressed as this setup provides upright seating position. You won't feel any back or shoulder pain. I have done more than 1k in single shot with this setup and it was extremely comfortable.
kunal gaurav no there will not be any change in mileage, reason - I am not changing the ergonomics of the bike and second thing it depends on you how you ride the bike in terms of acceleration
Today I’ve done handle bar change on ma RC, Now What about the keyset, clutch cable, accelerator cable, front disc cable? The stock cables doesn’t give me much play for the handle when I used to turn. Any solutions?
Amal Vidwan clutch cable can adjusted using adjustment screws at both ends, borrow the accelerator cable from Duke series, disc cable (brake hose) use the 390's ABS cable from rear disc brake to ABS motor, for lock you need to check where exactly the locking pin is obstructed on the locking frame, and adjust the frame ...most people use the drill method, most comfortable position would be the right side.
Hi brother... seems a good modification ... Good that u r also from Karnataka... Please share your contact details... I would like to come to ur place and personally see this modification if that is okay with you.... tnx
Rear view mirrors are parallel to handle bar..which deflect the wind blast at high speeds. There are lot of full faired sports bikes which uses such handle bars one of them is Suzuki gsx-s 1000f
Vishnu Das this is swappable...I can swap to clip-on whenever I want...and there are lot of difference in Duke and RC specially when you ride at night time...projector beams makes he'll lot of difference
Vishnu Das single piece handle bars are better in handling for touring, stunts and for filtering through traffic. Duke and RC are completely diff. Machine's for seating position, aerodynamic etc. RC is a fully faired version and if u just buy a single piece handle bar, u can have fun of both RC and Duke. You can switch from clip-on to single piece bars any day u want. And for most important thing, its his bike dude, he will do what he likes. Some RC riders do this, some don't, it's what the owner prefers. My friend owns a RC 200 and he has done this to his bike, it's good in handling. On track days he just switch's to clip-on's. I own a RC 390 and I am also planning to do this on my motorcycle. And buddy, RC headlight's are brighter then dukes!
You just ruined the look of the bike.may be you have done it as your requirements.but it is not looking good at all.If you want that type of handling comfort, then you could buy the DUKE
Why did you change the clip-ons!! It was there for a purpose!! If touring was your thing you could have gone with duke 200!! You absolutely ruined the handling and ergonomics of the bike!! Its was meant to be aggressive!!
